If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Dolomites to feel real South Tyrolian atmosphere and culture, this family-run hotel is the place. Everyone we encountered from the staff, from receptionists to cleaning staff were friendly, helpful, kind. The service and cleanliness is top notch. The breakfast was amazing and a highlight for sure. We really enjoyed our stay. Gais is a really sweet village, and well connected with pathways and bike lanes with surrounding villages in the valley. Great location for trips in the Dolomites (winter and summer).

It would’ve been nice to have a small fridge in the room just to keep a couple of bottles of water cool.

Nice little hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Snacks are offered in the evening at the bar. Very good beer at the bar. The dining room is very cozy, modern and spacious. The morning buffet wasn't exactly a huge choice, but the food was plentiful, very good and varied. Scrambled and fryed eggs are served to order. Smaller desserts are also available. Rooms very spacious and clean. Also the bathroom. Our stay was now for the second time.

In winter, breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m., which seemed a bit late to us, considering that we were in a hurry to go to the ski slope afterwards. A suggestion would be to start at 7:00 a.m., which would then avoid the sudden hustle and bustle at breakfast. (our opinion). We missed the dinner offering. Snacks (hot toast,...) can be ordered at the bar. There are three small restaurants in the area, but after a busy day of skiing, it's not exciting to look around for a food restaurant.

Great place, very comfortable rooms which are looking really nice. Nice bar downstairs, there’s also option to order bread from local bakery. Situated in a very calm neighbourhood, 8mins by car to bigger city. Still in the village you can eat something local and enjoy the views. People working there were very helpfull and I will definitely come back here.

Everything was perfect, there’s no lift in the building if you need it - for is it was not s problem.

Tasty breakfast, fresh scrambled eggs made in a few minutes after you arrive. Good coffee machine, super croissants, and plenty of other options. Newly renovated space is used only for breakfast. Shame, could be used as a really nice day/night lounge bar. Rest of the hotel is a lot older, but in great condition, like mid 1990 high quality wooden Austrian interior. Owners really take care of the place. Probably renovation will go in multiple stages.

We had a lovely stay at Active Hotel Sonne – the atmosphere is cosy and calm, perfect for a relaxing getaway in the mountains. The room was comfortable and clean, with beautiful views of the surrounding nature. Breakfast was definitely a highlight . The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is ideal for exploring the Dolomites, whether you’re hiking or just looking to unwind.

Breakfast was amazing. Eggs and milk truly exceptional. Room was large and well furnished. Bed and blankets up to tirol's standards. Closeness to the bus stop and Bruneck. Availability of the staff. Private parking close by. Central to many beautiful locations. Possibility to borrow, free of charge, hike sticks.

Loudness of the nearby road. Absence of elevator, even though if you are on the first floor you can get away by rolling your luggage out of the rear exit.

Cozy hotel next to the main road. Nice garden. Garage for bicycles and motorcycles. Small cafe. Welcome drink and activities informational booklet with free public transport tickets upon arrival. Very helpful and welcoming hosts (we could not arrive on the booking date due to the flat tyre and the host kindly changed our booking to the next day). The breakfast is very good.

The road outside is quite busy and noisy to open the windows so you don’t have the source of the fresh air in your room.

After check in we found the hair in the bathroom on the floor and not only from the had. After mentioning about the issue the other room was immediately proposed. At the same time the next days of staying in the hotel were “poisoned”

It is a family hotel with a good location in Gais, just across the street from the bus station where you can take the bus to Kronplatz. There is also a parking. The breakfast was great and the staff was nice and approachable. Room was clean, towels were changed every morning. Heating was great. There is also a bar in the hotel.

We had a nice breakfast and the staff was very helpful. The room was ok as we had a nice view to the mountains, even if there was the crossroads right in front of our window as well.

-the hotel is right at the crossroads, in a crowded area. This was not clear for me from the pictures, where I also saw a nice garden that I could not find when we were there. -hard to find a good restaurant nearby. We went to the one recommended but it was plain awful and expensive.
