Beautiful hotel with gardens, tennis court, inside ping pong table. Rooms and bathrooms very clean and with ventilation. We were in the top floor with a private terrace overlooking the Castle and the Tirreno sea! Amazing view from the shower window. Lovely staff told me about the hotel story which was built in marble and stone with the shape of a castle surrounded by vineyards in 1900 by a family who used the property as their primary residence. In 1960 the property was converted in a hotel and in the vineyard land they placed a tennis court. The place is quiet, relaxing and good access to beautiful beaches, lighthouse, port and castle. Castle in Giglio island is breathtaking!!

We stayed at this hotel castello monticello for seven nights . The hotel was great overall . The breakfast and dinner options there were great and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful . The hotel is in a beautiful location either lots of beaches nearby . Our driver raji is incredibly friendly and professional . The hotel is very clean and has a lot of common areas both inside and outside . The restaurant there has extremely delicious food . We recommend this place to all our friends and family .

Room was very bright, clean and generally lovely. Great bathroom and very good facilities. We stayed in a room with a view on the hill from one side, and on the sea over the other side: it made for a very bright stay and the views are actually fantastic. Staff was great, very helpful and kind, and always available. The room and bathroom were very clean.

Breakfast buffet could be improved - for example by adding some fresh fruit, or improving the cheese and cured meats selection - items on display were a little bit disappointing except for yogurt which was always fresh. The Restaurant could've been better, there are I think much better options across the Island.

Everything about our stay has been perfect, we loved every minute of it! The hotel is gorgeous and super clean, breakfast was delicious. The view from our room was amazing. Francesco has been our host, very friendly and helpful. We loved the free shuttle: we walked around to different places and got picked up by Raj, what a luxury! The price we paid for our stay is very reasonable, considering the location and the great service they provide.

I have been at Giglio island many times because the island itself is a little heaven on earth for those who appreciate an unspoiled natural setting, and a wonderful mix of beautiful tuscan villages, fantastic beaches with cristal clear water, and of course all the tasty food and wine you expect from Tuscany. In this idyllic context the Castello Monticello hotel for me has been a very pleasant surprise: it seemed more a 4 stars hotel than a 3 stars. The breakfast was spectacular, the staff was always helpful and kind, the facilities included scenic sea view terrace and restaurant/breakfast area, free shuttle service to the Arenella and Cannelle beaches, and very nice and elegant relax areas, always with perfect wi-fi signal. All of this at excellent value. I will definitely come back again, hopefully very soon. Previously I was mainly renting private flats, but I found this hotel much better value for money and from now on this will be my chosen place. The hotel is a big beautiful castle building well visible from many places in the island.

Everything was perfect, but my only kind suggestion to the hotel managers is to keep at least some emergency snacks for people who miss dinner: the hotel is at about 10 minutes walk from Giglio Porto on top of a steep road, and if you miss the hotel deadline for dinner you are forced to go back to Giglio Porto. I never needed this, but for some it may be useful to can have emergency sandwiches or at least snacks, not only drinks.

I'm so glad we stayed here and would come again, the hotel is perfectly located just up the hill from Giglio Porto. Breakfast and coffee were good with a lovely view and service. The staff are great and super helpful, the hotel shuttle was amazing and made it really easy to travel to the nearby beaches and to go to the Port for dinner. Just outside the hotel there is a bus stop which takes you to Castello and Campese beach on the other side of the island. Our room was large and clean with a comfy bed and good shower.

Fantastic location, restaurant food was exquisite. The staff were helpful and friendly, particular shout out to Rajesh, the hotel driver, whom shuttled us to and from the Port and other locations, so helpful and flexible.

The shower was fairly small but a minor comment, it was no issue.

The hotel is located up the hill from the charming little port, with sweeping views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The hotel provided shuttle service to the beach and to the port where there are many services and restaurants. We chose to walk to one of the loveliest of the beaches, maybe a half mile away, and took the island bus system (efficient, quick) to one of the others. The hotel staff graciously and cheerfully accommodated all of our needs.

We loved everything.

The best thing that could happen to us during our short vacation. I could not believe the value we got for the price. - Stunning view - Cozy atmosphere - Books, ping pong, board games, etc. - Delicious breakfast - Pleasant dinner experience (paid separately) - Free shuttle to the beach and back - Free parking (despite we didn't need it) - and of course people :)

The position, the wonderful view and the very good restaurant. The free shuttle service was also great.

It could do with a little touch up, but nothing major. Coffee machines in some of the rooms would be great.
