This trip to the Castle seemed like a fairy tale... they host weddings and major events, but there was nothing booked when we were there, and we ended up being the only people at the castle for the first night. There was a second couple there on night two, but we essentially had the grounds to ourselves. Even so, there was staff on-hand who made us breakfast and dinner. The manager who checked us in was in communication with us and made sure we had all the information we needed. We honestly felt a little spoiled and guilty to have the staff wait on us when it was just us. But we went with the experience. I know we'll not have such a special experience again, unless we come back to this castle!

The castle itself is so historical and gorgeous. We'd wanted to learn as much as we can about it, but there wasn't a lot of information, beyond basic stories on the website and a couple of posters on the walls. It'd be amazing to have more printed stories/historical information throughout the castle! Even so, walking around the grounds and around the medieval town (and into Limatola too) was so cool!

A truly magical experience! The hotel’s location is fantastic, and the atmosphere of sleeping in a real castle made my stay unforgettable. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the interior design made me feel like I had stepped into another era. A perfect place for anyone who enjoys peace, quiet, and historical charm. As some previous reviews mentioned, the road leading up to the castle includes two uphill stretches. However, even with a BMW X3 we had no problem reaching the top. For those who might be concerned about the sharp uphill turn, there is also a parking area a bit lower down. The hotel provides golf carts, and a staff member kindly came to pick us up from the parking lot and helped with our luggage. We travel frequently for work, and this hotel truly deserves high marks — it offered the best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel this year. Fresh juices, a wide variety of high-quality ingredients, both sweet and savoury options — just perfect. Big bonus points for the high-quality, natural cosmetics provided in the room, and the fully equipped bathroom. Guests are even provided with toothbrushes, which is a thoughtful touch. Highly recommended — a unique and relaxing stay in a one-of-a-kind setting!

We could see this place from quite a distance, And the closer we got , the better it became.. On arrival, their parking guy was on the case, and showed us where to park, helped to reception etc. To say we were WOWED, is almost an understatement, As someone who loves old buildings, History, And artistic things, It was almost a sensual overload. Everything, everywhere, the details, the one off peices of furniture, The sculptures. Our room was very spacious, With a very nice TV/ Lounge room, With views looking down on the peasants outside,,,, Well years ago anyway ! Breakfast was very well presented, And just the right amount. We did eat there in the evening,,,,, To be Brutal, Judging the Mains, and Based on price,,,, it was ok no more. 7/10 We decided if we ate there again, We'd have the superb bread basket, And 3 courses of the Superb deserts, Yes they were really good

The castle views are stunning! The ancient walls and authentic period furniture and decor is really out of this world fabulous! Modern conveniences such as comfy beds, exceptional (although a little pricey) dining, and a multitude of seating in cool nooks and crannies, make your castle stay fabulous! The staff go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and happy. An all around phenomenal experience!

The only downside was trying to figure out how to work the skeleton key to enter our room. But, that’s on us! 😂

The property was truly amazing. It was like walking back in time yet every comfort was catered for. Every corner was a photo opportunity and the renovations that there were had been sympathetically undertaken with castle’s history in mind. The restaurant served incredible food at a fine dining level. It was not only a holiday that we had at this property but it was truly an amazing experience. We would highly recommend.

There was nothing that we didn’t like about the property. The only thing that guests need to bear in mind is that the village below works to its own opening schedule as per the culture especially within smaller areas of Italy. If you decide to have lunch in the village you must check the opening times as most places have a siesta in the afternoon so an earlier lunch is recommended or else eat in the castle restaurant. Again for the evening meals check the opening times as culturally most Italian patrons will eat their evening meal much later, people coming in between 8-9pm.

The location and hotel offer a truly premium experience, and the warmth and friendliness of the staff make it feel wonderfully family-friendly. We stayed with our 2-year-old and felt genuinely welcomed throughout our stay.

Fantastic experience in every aspects! The bread and pastry at breakfast must be baked by an Excellent 'Master'. Bed equipments was luxurious and very comfy. All the staffs were professional and very kind. I will come back again and spend a week near future. God bless on Castello di Limatola!

It was awesome staying in a real castle. The staff was great.

I was not very impressed with the restaurant. The food was OK And overpriced for what I got. For some reason, I was not able to get the bill until the next morning at check out. I did not like the lighting in the room. The lock on my room door did not work. I did not complain about it, but told them when checking out.

We didnt know what to expect coming to Castello Di Limatola and we were blown away!! The hospitality of the entire staff was unparalleled. Of course it is a castle on top of a hill so there are some stairs and at times steep incline to navigate however there are multiple elevators and a golf carts on the property to accommodate. We got there about mid- day and they were able to whip up a delicious assortment of aperitif and we enjoyed every last bite. We even bought two bottles of the local wine they served us! We cannot say enough about the staff and how amazing they were. They were able to arrange transfers for us late at night, checked in on us during our stay and even told us to treat the castle as if it was our own home. Phenomenal service. We have heard wonderful things about Christmas time at the castle and we are looking forward to coming back. The location is BEAUTIFUL - however you need a transfer or car to arrive at the property. The room was so wonderful. They have two options modern rooms on the outside walls of the castle and traditional rooms physically in the castle. We stayed in the traditional room and it was great. Modern furniture, firm mattress, all the amenities in the bathroom , stocked mini fridge, safe, TV & AC. Shower was small but not an issue. We were very comfortable. Super clean.

The beauty of the rooms, the interior and the view were all beyond expectance. The whole experience of staying in the Castello di Limatola made a perfect fulfillment of our Italy tour. To be able to combine the historical authenticity and modern comfort like they have achieved, must have taken a long time and lots of effort. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff was extremely helpful, they met all our questions with a smile and did what they could for us at any time.
