Dorotea makes the place run smooth. She is a force of nature , taking care of any and all our needs. The pool, grounds and room was spotless . Comfy beds and good internet, hot water etc. The breakfast was generous homemade, fresh laid eggs to order bread yoghurt fruit and delicious home made pies from her mom. She was very kind to let us make salads at lunch in the breakfast kitchen. Also we needed To do wash and borrow umbrellas , which was no problem. Grounds are very tropical feeling w large palms and fauna , kids play structure. You don’t really feel like leaving. MFranca is a perfect base to visit many surrounding towns and only 13 mins by car to town . We loved it there. Can’t say any complaints .

The owner, Dorotea, was attentive and such a joy to be with and guide us on what to explore in the area. the atmospere is relaxed, easy going and fun. Exactly what we needed travelling with our parents. The Trulli housing was very special with exposed stone bricks but some trulli rooms are tight and some extra large so it's good to read the detailed description of each room before booking. The pool is large enough for swimming laps and the landscape filled with tall palm trees, sago palms, oleanders and grape vines. There is also family olive grove. For breakfast Dorotea's mom made excellent home made pies, there was fresh local fruit, fresh rolls, cheese and ham, excellent coffee. I also liked that Dorotea reached out prior to our arrival to make sure all is well.

The owners are expanding the building to included bigger inside breakfast area but we did not need it during our stay, it was sunny every day and we loved having breakfast under the kiwi trees pergola.

Truly amazing stay at Trulli D'Autore, a little piece of paradise in Puglia. Stayed as family of 4 with 2 daughters aged 14 and 9. The whole accommodation was immaculately maintained and very well run by Dorothea who was on hand to personally assist with anything we needed. Superb location in a tranquil setting, but within an easy 10 minute drive of Martina Franca and its restaurants and supermarkets. For those wanting to venture further afield, we found it to be an excellent base to visit all other tourist attractions within easy reach from the coastal towns of Monopoli to Ostuni, Alberobello etc. We enjoyed a very high standard family room, with every comfort and facility needed and plenty of space for us all. Our room was just a few steps away from the outstanding pool area which includes an honesty bar where you could help yourself to drinks and simply write down that you had taken to settle up at the end of your stay. Breakfast was fantastic with a great choice and enough variety for everyone and a very unique setting underneath a pergola covered in kiwi trees! Feel very fortunate to have chosen Trulli D'Autore for the first stop of our tour of Puglia and do not hesitate but to recommend this accommodation and also pass on our thanks to Dorothea as an amazing host.

We spent two nights at Trulli d’Autore and absolutely loved every moment of it! This place is a true gem: charming, peaceful, and beautifully authentic. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Dorothea, who is full of energy and kindness! She runs the property with so much care and enthusiasm, always making sure guests are comfortable and happy. Even before taking a well-deserved day off, she made sure everyone had everything they needed, such dedication is rare and truly appreciated. The property itself was designed and built by her father, and it’s stunning, every detail is thoughtfully planned to create a spacious yet cozy atmosphere. The pool area is perfect: calm, clean, and ideal for relaxing under the Puglian sun. It’s clear that this is a family project, done with love and pride. Her dad is even currently building a new breakfast area for cooler weather, constantly improving for the best guest experience! Breakfast is another highlight: Dorothea’s mom bakes delicious cakes, and I was lucky enough to leave with a slice of her heavenly banana bread to enjoy at the airport, such a sweet gesture! Staying in a traditional trullo was a dream of ours for this trip, and Trulli d’Autore made that dream come true in the best possible way. It was such a special, memorable experience and we truly hope to come back again soon! ♥️

All the things you would expect are great. Clean, lovely pool area and unique! The breakfast was great and included home made hams and pastries. Was lovely and fresh and filled us up till lunchtime! Above all, for us, it’s all about how a stay makes you ‘feel’. And what makes this a place one that we would highly recommend is the personalised service provided by all the team and especially Dorothea. She has boundless energy, takes the time to use every guests name and genuinely cares about her guests. In short she is outstanding and a credit to this little oasis!

If you are booking the smallest trullo then the bathroom is very small for a man of my proportions!

An Unforgettable Stay at Trulli d’Autore ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the pleasure of spending two unforgettable nights at Trulli d’Autore, and I can confidently say it was one of the most special travel experiences I’ve ever had. Nestled in the heart of Puglia, this tiny B&B is a true hidden gem. From the moment we arrived—well past midnight due to severe flight delays—Miss Dorotea, the host, welcomed us with extraordinary kindness. She stayed up until 1 a.m. just to greet us with a warm smile and ensure we were settled in comfortably. That level of care set the tone for the entire stay. The room was impressively spacious, immaculately clean, and full of charm. Every detail, from the décor to the linens, reflected thoughtfulness and authenticity. The breakfasts were simply incredible—fresh, generous, and filled with local flavors that made each morning a delight. But what truly makes Trulli d’Autore stand out is the attention to the guest experience. Miss Dorotea’s hospitality went far beyond expectations. She treats her guests not as customers, but as welcomed friends, and that makes all the difference. Trillions D’autore was a wonderful place to spend a couple nights. The room was comfortable and spacious, the breakfasts were plentiful and tasty, and the place was located close to sights we wanted to see. And when some clothing (not ours) was left out to dry and it started to rain, Dorotea sent me a message saying she was drying the clothes in the dryer. That was helpful (for whoever the clothes belonged to)! We had a very nice stay.

The only slight negative pertained to an ear infection I developed prior to arriving. I asked Dorotea if she would call a local clinic for some information for me about getting the ear treated and she refused. Whether due to a communication issue or something else, that surprised me. Otherwise, she and the staff were very friendly and personable.

Fantastic place near Martina Franca. We stayed in a typical trullo, on the edge of a swimming pool and surrounded by nature and overall a very nice structure. Location is 10mins from Martina Franca which is the centre of Valle D'Itria, so easy to reach Locorotondo, Cisternino, Ceglie, Ostuni (we went for a nice walk and dinner in each of them every night). We even managed a great winery visit in Locorotondo on the way to the beach one day. It's also equi-distant from the Adriatic and Ionian seas, so you can explore the beaches on both sides during the day. We loved it. The breakfast was very nice (especially mum's homemade cakes and dad's homemade capocollo!), under the kiwi pergola ....fantastic! Dorotea was a kind, helpful and cheerful hostess. Very much embodied the local attitude of the people we met during our stay in Puglia (welcoming, nice and always smiling). It's a round 10 from us. Thank you very much.

We had a fabulous couples of days staying here. The property is situated in a peaceful area just ten minutes from Martina Franca. The property was spacious, well-presented and immaculate. The pool and pool area as well as other amenities were excellent. Breakfast was support with a wide offering. Above all of that, Dorothea and her family were the perfect hosts. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. This is a special place and we will return. Nearby Martina Franca and especially Locorotondo highly recommended.

Trulli d’Autore is a little gem in the countryside just outside Martina Franca. Deotora, our host, couldn’t have been more kind or helpful-even making dinner reservations for us one night. We had a delicious breakfast, complete with homemade cake, every morning outside under an arbour of figs. You need a car to stay here but it is centrally located in the Itria Valley and a very short drive to all of the pretty little towns in Puglia. I would definitely stay again!!
