Not easy to get there, but got directions from Giada upfront of our arrival, which helped a lot - as google maps will send you into the sea :-). Communication in general was fantastic and we had a wonderful and tranquil stay at La Casa A Mare. The breakfast was very versatile and fresh and the coffee always great too. There are several Bars and Restaurants in walking distance left and right of the accomodation, In Rodia and San Saba. You can walk by the sea, which is very nice, 20min walk in both directions. The garden with all it blooming Plants and Palms and Cactus was so very nice and it was only 50m from our room into the sea, a breathtaking view every morning out to Stromboli Island and it's still puffing volcano. We loved it there and would deffo come again. Grazie Giada e Stella per averci accolto e reso il nostro soggiorno così rilassante.

The path to the house is more of a gravel road with lots of potholes, directly next to the med sea ( but we already expected that after all the reviews we read ) At the end of our stay we were professionals at navigating around the potholes without touching down or driving into the sea. If you rent a car, maybe choose a Suzuki Jimny or something else with 4wd - that would help make it more comfortable.

La Casa a Mare is an idyllic, relaxing, quiet spot for vacation. A small, isolated beach is right across the road. Giada provided good directions to get to the house.

The „road“ from SS 113 (about 1.5 km) is large rock covered or dirt/sand; very rustic and full of potholes. There is parking available on SS113, and then one walks down steep stairs to the house.

It is simply wonderful place! We just regretted we stayed only overnight. A bit difficult to reach (do not follow blindly the online maps, go by car from San Saba side; be prepared for a non-excellent road on the last kilometer). For the rest simply amazing. Almost private beach. Complete privacy in the room, the bed was top, a wardrobe, excellent big bathroom, common kitchen facilities in the garden, each room has a table outside where you can sit yourself or share someone's company. Very hospitable and friendly hosts (thanks Giada and Arianna!) Good and beautiful breakfast is served. Atmosphere of love and freedom, and beautiful sea in proximity, with Eolic Islands and panoramic sunsets. Wish to come again!

It was easy access to the beach.The room was clean & perfect for 2 people.The owner was so nice,gave us lots of information about the place & where to go for eat & where to visit.

To entering the B&B by car, the road was not suitable for driving,because the road is in bad condition because it was beside the beach

The location is fantastic, just in front of a nice beach. The room (we had the one facing the sea) was also lovely, and the owner as well as the two ladies who prepared breakfast were all super helpful and friendly. Definitely a perfect place for quite holidays.

Nothing, all was great.

It’s a quite and peaceful location close to the beach. The owner is really nice, she welcomed us with tips about what to do around. There is clean sandy beach with clean sea you can swim in.

Mosquitoes 🫠

Relaxed, easy going place. Secluded. Private. Few steps away from the sea and small pebbled beach. Can hear sound waves when falling asleep. Good communication with hosts. Parking by main road with direct 3 min stairs route to the house at the sea level. Breakfast with store bought packaged cakes and juice. Nice coffee. Very nice bathroom and shower.

Mosquitos. Take a good repellant and after bite cream. Owner gave us some anti mosquito products.

We absolutely loved this place! How could you not? Waking up at the beach. The host was very friendly and send instructions on how to get there. It's hard to get there, but worth it. The breakfast was very easy, but that's not a surprise in Italy. They did have fruit and coffee so that made us happy :) Would recommend!

The location and view were really nice. The beach was small but quiet.

Where to start? First of all, the breakfast was a total disaster. We were given stale croissants that probably laid in the kitchen for several weeks. Moreover, we were given yogurt that was 5 days past due date. The stale croissants were accompanied by a rotting peach. The food looked more like leftovers than breakfast. Truly dreadful! Secondly, the owner only pretends to be nice. She is dead set on milking her clients as much as possible. Thirdly, our backside room smelt like gas. When we asked the owner's husband about it and whether it can be fixed we got a reply that "it's the machine". After closer inspection, we found out that our A/C is sucking the air from some kind of exhaust pipe. We had to turn it off. All in all, our two-day stay was a hell of a ride. We felt not like guests, but more like a nuisance.
