Absolutely Amazing Stay – Highly Recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a truly wonderful experience during our stay! Everything exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was a highlight – fresh, delicious, and with a great variety. We especially loved enjoying it on the terrace each morning with the sun rising. The pool area was spotless and peaceful, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Plenty of loungers, towels provided, and a calm atmosphere. But what truly took our breath away was the view – absolutely stunning! Whether from our room, the poolside, or the breakfast area, the scenery was unforgettable and added something magical to every moment. The staff was kind and helpful, the room was very clean and cozy, and every detail was well thought out. We would definitely come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, beauty, and a relaxing environment.

The apartment was very spacious and the kitchen was very well equipped. The shower was bigger than the average Italian shower which is always appreciated. Decent water pressure and tons of hot water. Views out of the windows of the old city/castle walls was novel.

The apartment was exposed to a lot of noise. From the street and from other tenants. To be expected, but still a con. The chiming castle bell every 15 minutes was unwanted. Startling and distracting. Work trucks coming through at the early of the morning in the dark beeping and running their diesel engines woke us up every night. All these are consequences of the environment and nothing to do with the hotel or staff.

We booked the 1 bedroom apartment which is across the road from the castle. Not sure why we didn’t choose a room in the castle, perhaps fully booked 🤷‍♀️. The apartment was not as luxe as the castle. Great if you are self catering- nothing at all supplied (no water, tea bags, anything). Awkward shaped rooms-result of repurposing and renovating I guess. We had full access to the castle restaurant, breakfast area, pool and grounds. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Parking available (free) A family run trattoria just down the road provided fabulous meals, if you’re looking to eat outside the castle.

No lift to our floor, so we had to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Missed the plush ambience of the castle accommodation

We loved every single thing! I lack words to describe how happy we are that we chose this place. We are vegan and they were super conscious about all food, they knew the ingredients and allergens of everything. We had wide choice of food to eat for breakfast and the service was extremely polite and knowledgeable. We felt like in a movie and we regretted a lot that we didn’t stay there for longer. The conditions were amazing, the surrounding was incredible, the birds chirping was waking us up in a most perfect way. I cannot add more to it. It’s all just an amazing experience to be there and surely we will come Back to this extraordinary place!!! Also it was a pleasure to meet the owner - Orlando was very helpful and told us the story of this castle. Thank you all for the most amazing two night we had with you!!!

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Wonderful attentive staff, brilliant breakfast with so many options both cooked and buffet style, enjoyed on a beautiful balcony and walkway with fantastic views. Amazing restaurant for dinner on site, lovely courtyard for evening drinks. Our room was beautifully decorated and incredibly clean and quiet. The grounds are wonderful with a lovely pool and areas to walk our dog, very dog friendly all around. Incredibly secure parking within the grounds. Honestly can't fault anything and we will be back. We reserved two rooms in the external buildings, but were free to use the old charming Castello. The pool was magnificent as were the breakfast food and service chambers. Our rooms were commodious, sparkling clean, kitchen had full equipment, view of countryside was great. Shower was spacious and pleasant

Not much around in Monterado, so a car is a must to explore the area. Needed to carry our luggage up the stairs to the rooms.

Everything - we had splashed out on the Principe Suite which was outstanding. Food and wine excellent (ate there every night of 4 nights!) and good value, also courtyard for supper was lovely. Breakfast outstanding on the ramparts watching the swifts overhead and looking down to the Adriatic. Staff excellent, almost family and the pool and pool bar were brilliant. 9.7 on booking.com - not a scam! What a location!

Very minor, there is a kettle and proper china, but a pod coffee machine (instant is not good!) and iron/board in the room would complete the picture. Other than that - simply outstanding

The Castello is beautiful , dinner in courtyard and a stunning breakfast room with terrace. Food prices were very reasonable

The apartment was pretty basic . Main annoyance was that there is only 1 mirror in the whole 2 bedroomed apartment which is simply ridiculous when 3 of us were all trying to get ready and one was in the shower. Also a full length mirror should be provided somewhere.Over bath shower a bit dated , overhead lighting with no ambience and not even a reading light in bunk bed room.

We used Castello Di Monterado as a stop-by on our journey back home from south Italy and I wish we would be able to stay couple days more. It was an awesome experience. Park around the castle, swimming pool, turtles and especially long swing brought full of joy to whole family. Breakfast was super nice, but the view from the dining area was marvelous

I wish we'd stay for more than just one night. I also wish they'd have coffee machine set at the breakfast, so we could prepare our own coffee and not need to order to the staff. But anyway they were super nice.

Fairytale accommodation in a castle dating back to 1732, the building and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. Location is special, up on the hill, overseeing the Monterado village and with a view of the Adriatic sea. The swimming pool area in the garden is perfect, for adults and kids. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The dining area outside between the building walls makes for a unique experience, and the food is first class. Do stop by if you have the chance, we will be back.
