This is a fabulous little guest house 5 mins walk from the middle of Ragusa Ibla. There are only 4 rooms but the gardens and terraces are beautiful. Very private and relaxing. The daily breakfast is a Sicilian feast and the owners are so kind and helpful. We stayed for 6 days and it is perfect as a base to visit other local towns but we were quite happy to spend the odd afternoon lounging around in the garden or recharging our batteries in the hammocks with a cool drink.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect, ideally situated just a short stroll from everything in the charming Ibla district. You’ll be immersed in the heart of Ragusa with easy access to all the sights. A highlight was the traditional Sicilian breakfast, which added such a lovely local touch to our stay – the flavors were delightful! The hosts were exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The facilities exceeded expectations, offering a perfect blend of comfort and tranquility. The beautiful garden, relaxing hot tub, and serene yard with a waterfall created a peaceful retreat where we could unwind after a day of exploring. It was truly an unforgettable experience!

Tucked away in a back street overlooking the valley, but only 5 minutes or so from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Ibla, this is a great place to spend a few days. Arriving on a Sunday by car was a bit challenging, but we still managed to find a place to park fairly close. The garden is a delight, with it's special swimming pool and shady places to escape the noise of the town. Breakfast was special with plenty of homemade things, made even better by the ever smiling daughter of the hosts. She speaks several languages and was always ready to chat and answer our questions. So a special thank you to her. We would certainly return.

Our second return stay and pleased to see exactly as we remember. Beautiful location and wonderful staff. The most delicious breakfast, and fabulous location right in centre of Ragusa Ibla. Lovely to park the car, following their instructions and then just walk for a few days around the beautiful area. You must do the tour that Carmela recommends as it was so interesting.

We had the best time, Lisa and Jane provide the best and biggest breakfast we have ever tasted in Sicily, the vegan breakfast is a must. Lovely people who are always smiling and happy to chat and share local knowledge. The property outside is the best bit - beautiful gardens, pool, jacuzzi, with chillout areas. Breakfast is served outside too overlooking the valley with spectacular views. Perfect location in old Ragusa, only a short walk to the main square.

Beautiful small-scale B&B with excellent facilities. We really enjoyed the pool and 'relaxation' area. Breakfasts were excellent. Staff/owners were very friendly and helpful. Location gave great access to the old town of Ibla. Parking was available in public area (plenty of space even at height of tourist season in mid-August) and was free.

We have no complaints whatsoever.

The best breakfast we had in Sicily - Fantastic fresh and warm ricotta, home made pistachio paste with tasty buns, delicious deserts. The sunrise view from the pool and breakfast area was excellent. The staff was super friendly and nice. Location - right in the edge of the old town but not on the main busy road so it was quiet and peaceful and night.

Not much to say here - maybe just that the bed was a little hard - if you like this type of bed then it’s not a big deal.

We loved every single thing about Casa Gelsomino. Very easy to park in Ragusa Ibla following their instructions and incredible to be literally minutes from the Duomo and centre of Ragusa Ibla. The 2 rooms we had were quiet with balconies and great showers, there are only 4 so it will never be crowded. The garden is something else..... have to see it to believe it and fabulous views over the beautiful baroque town. And the wonderful breakfast that was different each day was definitely the best we had in Sicily. Fresh Ricotta made that morning, local salamis, cheese, fruit, breads, croissants and homemade jams and pistacchio cream and a wonderful homemade cake too. In fact we bought a couple of jars of their homemade pistachio cream to take home as it was sooo good! We loved sight seeing and walking back to relax in the jacuzzi and cool down in the wonderful pool. The hosts were so friendly and we got by with my basic italian and her basic english. And we were given great ideas for restaurants and things to visit. Utterly sublime and we will DEFINITELY return. Thank you!!!

Great property hanging on the side of the hill, great views, beautiful gardens and pool. What really makes this the best is Giovanna, our host. She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. You should see how much trouble she goes to in presenting local specialties for breakfast. Incredible, beyond words. Only small complaint was lack of sound proofing in rooms and hallways. Only four rooms though, so noise is usually just temporary. Would highly recommend and will return. Exactly as described, but Giovanna makes it soooooo much more.

We stayed in 10 hotels/b&b’s during our time in Sicily and many were lovely but La Casa Del Gelsomino stood out from the crowd. The room & bathroom were nice sizes and very comfortable. We had a little balcony with 2 chairs and a table overlooking the garden & pool and city view. Breakfast was delicious with many home made and local made treats. Giovanna goes out of her way to be helpful. The garden is lovely & relaxing. The pool an absolute delight. We didn’t have time to use the hot tub. Easy walking from the B&B to anywhere. Highly recommend. (Our GPS did not properly direct us to the property so I’ll include here that you need to drive on what looks like a pedestrian street through the main town square under a tunnel and follow the street around a curve one block up. It is really easy but didn’t seem so the first time we did it. )
