Super comfy beds. Clean. Parking in front for free. Home made cakes for breakfast. Fantastic coffee! Owner is very helpful in sharing info about everything you might want to visit. Rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. Toiletries available in room. Internet on the floor is good. Gorgeous big balcony on the floor with chairs to enjoy the sunset and breeze in the evening (in June we needed something to cover ourselves even though during the day was 30). It was perfect to rest and sleep, the air and possibilities to make room dark made it perfect. There are nets so windows can stay open even though there is forest around. It's not crowded and people are mainly visiting around so we had pool to ourselves however it is open til ll 7pm only. We loved location even though road is not the nicest to reach from main street but it's in forest on hill with lovely view.

There is not much info available so everything you need to ask the owner. I think it would be nice to get paper or message with info with Internet password, breakfast time, options for breakfast, till when is entrance open. I find it as minus that when I asked the room with a view, I was told there is none with 3 beds but later I saw that room no. 5 has view and 3 beds.

Very nice hosts, the place has character, an amazing view from Tuscany and Umbria, something really to remember for life. Good breakfast, good size rooms, modern bathrooms. Great pool.

- Some bathrooms are a bit small. - Sarteano is a bit far away from the main places in Tuscany, so to use it as a hub to drive around might not be the best. - The snooker rooms were not available as expected. - Tuscany has spiders, small ones but you can also sometimes encounter a big one. The hotel does a lot to prevent it to be honest, there are nets in windows and in some doors, but, almost impossible to really block them.

The hotel is perfectly located geographically for exploring all of Tuscany. We went to Sarteano itself (Etruscan tombs, museum, castle), Cetona, Asissi, Perugia, Terme de Saturnia, San Quirico d’Orcia, Montepulciano and Siena from here. Renato is a keen host - he’ll start your day offering the latest cake selections for breakfast (all amazing) and will pop up regularly thereafter to check in on your stay and provide advice/anecdotes.

The hotel has been pared back operationally over time and the restaurant space, kitchen (no cooked breakfast items) and billiards (different to pool or snooker) room are mostly unused - which makes complete sense business-wise but feels a little sad given it’s such a beautiful, big building. The bathroom showers are exactly like the ones you get in motorhomes - moulded, practical, tight on space. Take some insect spray as you will bitten if you sit out anywhere in Tuscany at dusk.

Renato our host was super friendly and helpful. His local experience and knowledge were exceptional. Whenever we had questions he was there to support. We even changed all our plans according to his advice and suggestions. Our experience in Tuscany was much better because of the itinerary he created for us! Besides that the view of the place is phenomenal and we enjoyed our stay in La Torre Ai Mari!

Nothing, everything was good!

The pool and the terrace with the view are great. the breakfast is a homemade croissant and other baked goods. The owner is what makes this place special! He will tell you where and when to go, where to eat etc.

This is an old building with no air-condition. We stayed there during a very hot week so the clean and big pool was what kept us alive.

Truly beautiful location outside Sarteano with stunning views over the countryside and lakes, set away from town in its own woods. Super-helpful owner Renato gave us great tips. Rooms a bit faded, and could do with aircon rather than just ceiling fans. Wonderful swimming pool.

None - everything was perfect.

One of the best places we have stayed during all our Toskana trips (and there have been a few). The host is the definition of the word himself, always has a great recommendation of nice trips, very good conversations about lots of topics and has made every effort, from breakfast to drinks, to make our stay welcoming. The whole facility is clean and well looked after, rooms get cleaned thoroughly every day. We‘ve had a room on the upper level and probably the best water pressure in Italy :). The close-by city of Sarteano has everything you could need and the location makes a great starting place for roundtrips in tuscany (look at the shape of the route he recommended for our honeymoon trip). If in the area, drop by for a night or two, a dip in the pool or a beer on the sun terrace, with awesome views of the landscape. At night, the sun terrace offers great star-gazing views as there‘s little to no light around the property (the host will recommend to turn the lights on the sun-terrace off for this). Great location on the hill with a nice view. Really enjoyed the tranquility and nature. The host was very helpful and the breakfast cakes were exceptional.

It's the cleanest hotel we've ever visited! Nice pool and picturesque view from the terrace. I like to work with laptop at this terrace. Host Renato speaks good English and took care of everything. BTW internet was better than expected. Hope to return soon

It's impossible to stay here without a car. Hotel doesn't have a restaurant or transfer to the town.
