I loved everything about our stay here. We had a beautiful, massive room, and even though it faced out over the entrance/car park, it was lovely and quiet. The pool area is gorgeous and we had a glorious day relaxing around it. The hotel was wonderfully relaxed about letting us enjoy the pool before our room was ready, and then again about letting us stay there for a bit after we had checked out. The breakfast was a sumptuous feast, and set in gorgeous high-ceilinged rooms. The evening meal was delicious, and again the setting was perfect, in a beautiful courtyard. We felt spoilt throughout our time there.

We were a family of three and the single bed was just a large sofa, not even a sofa bed, but my daughter did find it comfortable in the end and slept well.

This hotel is in a grand country house set in lovely grounds. The main part of the house is very beautiful with an impressive large reception room with a number of smaller rooms leading off from it - a great place for a pre-dinner drink! I can imagine it is especially lovely in Winter with a roaring log fire. The restaurant is located in what was once the stables with tables arrange in what would have been the old stalls which is a nice touch. The quality of the food in the restaurant was very good and the service was exceptional. Overall the staff were very welcoming and friendly. There is also a lovely swimming pool which unfortunately we weren't able to use as it was too chilly. But we very much enjoyed our stay at such a special and unique hotel.

Breakfast all good with a wide variety of food and beverages. Guests have a choice of three dining rooms all positioned around a central servery, and adjacent to a pleasant garden terrace which is a nice place to take your morning coffee. The pleasant main restaurant has a slightly disjointed layout and provides reasonable menu choice. The quality of food is good and service excellent. Maybe the Hotel could consider offering guests a 'daily special' or two to further broaden its appeal to longer term guests? Our room was spacious and comfortable with views of the lovely surrounding countryside. Staff members were friendly, helpful and patient at all times, which we appreciated because our Italian is not a strong point! The Hotel is situated in a truly magnificent area with beautiful far reaching rural views to one side and majestic mountains to the other. In hot weather the good sized swimming pool area provides somewhere to cool off and perhaps have an al-fresco lunch. All in all a lovely place to stay.

A lack of cooked breakfast items for late risers. Being from the UK, we often enjoy an 'English Breakfast' whilst away, so a little disappointing when there's not much left by 9.30am! Our bathroom towels, whilst clean and adequate, could not be described as luxurious, but in all honesty, given the general quality of the hotel and its numerous facilities this is a minor point that could very easily be rectified.

Staff where very friendly and accommodating, the hotel itself was very nice. The pool was fantastic and the 4 course dinner at the hotel was very nice. We used it as a stay over on our way to Cinque Terra but could have stayed longer.

What a place! A magnificent period villa, conservatively restored to closely resemble its original state. Truly a unique location. The rooms are elegantly furnished. The staff is delightful. The pool is beautiful and clean. The garden is pleasant. Overall, a really good experience at the Sina Relais Villa Matilda.

Super friendly and helpful staff and reception, fantastic cooked breakfast, way above standard in Italy, great pool, sauna, weights, went cycling and gravelbiking in the beautiful surroundings, there is a hose to clean the bikes with, dinner and wines were also excellent and the room was just class as is the building!

This is a gem hidden in a walled garden, with red squirrels in the grounds, a most beautiful building, fabulous food, friendly staff and wonderful facilities.

The place is insanely good; the quality of everything is excellent and there's only room for relaxation, you don't need to worry about anything else

Breakfast was good with a large variety but was often not replenished. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Ambience and lounges were relaxing and the leisure facilities good.

The swimming pool and leisure facilities closed too early.
