Too much chlorine in pool

The location and snorkeling was the best!! I loved being on the cliffs and watching the marine life(rays jumping in the morning right in our cove, and a whole pod of dolphins during sunset). The food was delicious although a little pricey. It’s a short walk to rock house to get variety of meals and comparable pricing and enjoy the luxurious grounds. Rooms are clean and the landscaping is wonderful and authentic; full of hibiscus, mango trees, ganja and Bougainvillea vines. The pool is a nice alternative to the ocean if the weather is too windy or choppy for swimming. Staff is very friendly and accommodating minus one gal who took some time to warm up but eventually did. Snorkel equipment was clean and functional and is totally worth it to see the amazing sea life and coral just in the cove and even better if you venture just around the bend a bit.

The rooms could do with some small improvements. The pillows for one are unbearably large and hard so we ended up sleeping with no pillows, but the bed itself was very comfortable. It was quite warm so we slept with the AC on and it was a tad chilly with just a sheet so we asked the front desk if they had a blanket and they did not, so we ended up waking up occasionally to turn off and on the ac to accommodate. We tried to use the fan instead, but it was so wobbly that it was too loud to sleep with, plus it seemed like it might actually wiggle itself free and fall on us haha. Everything else was great!

The Xtabi Resort is a nice place in a beautiful location. It is far away from the beach and the city centre, so you need a car if you want to get around more. But it is right at the cliffs and you can do cliff diving or explore the caves. Our room was good and spacious, as was the bathroom. It was clean as well. From our place you couldn't see the cliffs or the ocean. We were on the other side of the road but we had easy access to the cliffs via the restaurant that was part of the resort.

The staff was pretty unfriendly. You couldn't get a hello out of them (except for one gardener) and we had the feeling that they didn't really want us there. None of them ever smiled and they seemed annoyed when we had any questions.

We liked the location, friendly staff and facilities available including the restaurant/bar by the cliffs and caves. The food was very good and I especially liked the coffee! The staff was very attentive and there were always staff watching when someone was going to cross the very busy road between the restaurant and hotel. There was always a taxi available at the facility when we needed a ride.

What we didn't like was no fault of Xtabi. There were straight-line winds and a fire which prompted an outage and loss of plumbing in the area as well as places being closed and damage to the beach area. They did get things up and running fairly quickly. Also, it was very windy most of the time we were there which made it impossible to go snorkeling which again was no fault of Xtabi.

The location of Xtabi is amazing! Very relaxed vibes and kind staff. Basic, but comfortable, spacious and clean rooms in a perfectly serene setting. Having the restaurant across the street with good food and excellent views rounded it out to be a perfect place to stay.

It was a little pricey, but understandable in this day and age. The beds could have been more comfortable, but they weren’t that bad. Low light bed side lamps would be nice for reading at night, when one person wants to sleep, and the other is a reader. Having to pay p/day for using the fridge seemed silly, but at least the AC was free. Nothing too concerning. Overall we were very pleased.

I never requested a quiet room, I never made a special request for anything. We did not eat breakfast, but we did eat dinner and that was OK. The location is awesome, you can just go right off of the cliff and snorkel.

I really loved everything about the place except the no air-conditioning. During our stay it was very very humid so it did make for an uncomfortable nights sleep. If it was a little bit less humid and a little bit more of a breeze, I’m sure it would’ve been perfect but this particular evening Was like a steam bath in the room.

the location is perfect. The staff so welcoming and friendly. The food is above average and great value compared to other nearby resorts. There’s a nice laid back and peaceful vibe all throughout. And the wifi is strong throughout the entire property which is was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed walking throughout the property as there are many fruit trees that you can help yourself to or like I did, have one of the grounds keepers help get mangos, neesberries, sweetsop, plums, and even breadfruit! OMG the cliffs! Hands down, best view, best cliff diving spot, best caves, best access to beautiful coral & colourful fish. Better than Ricks cafe which was only a 25 mins fun walk with lots of places you stop and either take in the scenery or grab a drink or even a little shopping.

hmmm that’s a head scratcher… I’ll get back to you on this one. I truly loved it all!

Xtabi has everything you need to have a great holiday. Staff is beyond excellent…rooms are carefully cleaned daily, grounds are lovingly looked after, pool is well taken care of. The restaurant has great options…consistency might be a little off depending on who is in the kitchen. The Cliffs are great for swimming. Best time to snorkel is early morning, before boat traffic is on the scene.

Beautiful setting, friendly and accommodating staff, good food, comfortable room. And you can’t beat the price! (We looked around) We’ve been here 3 years in a row and haven’t been disappointed yet.

Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Coffee was hot and the service was excellent.

Was the water issue. Good thing is I saw a new piece of pipe laid over a bridge just outside negril before orange bay.
