My family and I stayed here for three days. Everything here was unforgettable—quiet, clean, and fresh air. The hotel manager was enthusiastic and professional. It felt like living in a familiar home. The owner told us that this restaurant and hotel is family-run, starting from the Taisho era, with a history of more than 100 years. Every day, we enjoyed a delicious home-cooked Japanese breakfast. There is also a family-inherited kaiseki cuisine that is a must-try. Our whole family experienced the real Japanese culture and life here. My wife and daughter especially enjoyed the Japanese clothing experience specially prepared by the host for us. In short, it was a wonderful experience, and I hope to have the opportunity to come here again.

I was visiting my Baba in Sanda and decided to go see the Takeda Castle Ruins for the first time. I found this lovely minshuku (bed and breakfast) on booking.com. Shunko, her husband and her parents were the most welcoming hosts - so friendly, kind and warm. I enquired about eating dinner there and when I arrived at 7.45pm in the evening, they had prepared a beautiful Japanese meal. They also asked me to put a cute little sticker on their world map to show where I had come from :) The room reminds me of my grandparents home, so warm and homely. It came with a private wash-basin and toilet, with a bath and shower outside the room. Shunko's father was kind enough to take me to Takeda Castle Ruins in the morning 🥺 and then I came home to a beautiful Japanese breakfast. It was one of my most memorable and enjoyable stays in Japan, the family said that they have had this bed and breakfast for over 100 years - and I can see why, it is run with so much love! Could not recommend more ❤️ i am half Japanese so speak Japanese, but they can speak some English for any foreigners.
I loved everything

I like the vibes, feel like I am a guest in someone’s house. There are even fresh flowers in the room. The staff (family) was very friendly and attentive. I wanted to book unkai tour but unfortunately weather was not good. They sent me to Takeda station for the castle ruins instead which was well appreciated. Get the dinner option, it’s good plus save the hassle of looking for food in small town which can be difficult.
Generally good option if you are in the area. Would be better if there are alternative beds rather futon but that might be too much to ask for.

The hosts were incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, even as we arrived at 11pm! They were even so nice as to still give us a room tour at that late of an hour, and offered to also fetch us to the train station seeing that we were running close to our train boarding time! The place is immaculate, clean and comfortable! I wish we could've stayed more days. I would highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a place to stay while in Asago! 100/100!!

Family owned property. Friendly host , we stayed here to see the sunrise at the castle . We got lucky , very amazing view up the mountains. 40 mins hike up a paved road. They gave us a very big room on the ground floor . Adjoining to a common room next to the bedroom. So it is quite spacious to put our luggages.
Might be better to have a small table chart to book the bathroom with other guests. Otherwise would have to wait a bit to take turn for shower.

Loved everything. I feel like I could've paid a million dollars for another hotel and not received the kind of hospitality and service they provided here. They are above and beyond exceptional. To anyone considering this location, you will not regret staying here.

The staff was super kind to me. One day they drove me to the Takeda castle since it was raining outside. They were always smiling and ready to help you. The breakfast was also super very delicious. The bathroom was clean and spacious. I definitely recommend if you're staying somewhere near the Takeda Castle !

Friendly and accommodating staff and spacious room.
No access to kitchen to make own meal. TV in the guest room which the elderly guests next door (very thin walls in tatami room) had on late in the evening and very early in the morning . Not the fault of the staff

We stayed in this hotel as a stopover between Ine and Ako. The proprietors were very friendly and welcoming. There was ample parking which was great for us and breakfast was simple but delicious.

The hosts were so wonderful! They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and even insisted on driving us to the train station when we left because the roads were a bit snowy.
