We had a great talk with one of the people working there and watched a movie together on Friday (weekly movie night) which was great :)) Nice atmosphere and futuristic concept. The beeping sound of the traffic lights some people commented on didn't bother us during the night, I actually think they are turned off at some point and turned on again in the morning.

The lights and sounds etc. in the pods are controlled via mobile phone....that wasn't working with mine, so I basically wasn't able to use the features. When I told the staff they offered me to check if its working in another pod but it wasn't. However there is a little light controlled by a switch so it's not a big problem, but something to be aware of.

It was my next stop after Fujiyoshida and it couldn't be better! Mount Fuji is fascinating and Fujinomiya also has some gems to offer (Shiraito falls, Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre, etc). SLEEP Fuji has the perfect location as it is on the corner of Fujinomiya station. I love its minimalist stlye and it is equipped with everything a low-budget traweller might need.

The size of the room and the possibility to make small food and heat up prepared meals.

All good. Except the big bed in the big room = not confortable because you felt very much the mattress’s springs. I was tired so I slept quickly but when I woke up in the middle of the night my arms and back where hurting from laying down on the springs.

Tiiiiiiny little hostel right next to Fujinomiya station. The capsules had a bit of a handmade feel to them (plywood ahoy for those eco vibes) but had soundproofing foam inside and you could control the lighting using your phone, which was fun. Staff - super lovely, really helpful.

Shower and toilet were next to the capsules so could be heard from the capsule. Be wary of the capsule light alarm- mine didn’t work but thankfully I’d set a phone alarm as backup!

Next-level hostel stay with superb sleeping pods; You control the lighting mood, alarm, music & ventilation through your phone. It was so cool and the music options are super. The location is 10/10, 2 mins walk to train and bus station. The staff, Yogesh, was very friendly and helpful and the owner Jun, who is an architect gave great recommendations of local places to visit. Both of them gave out positive vibes; You can feel that they are good and sincere people. Its the best hostel I’ve stayed during my 5 week travel in Japan. Fujinomiya is such a great place to base yourself, and SLEEEP will be your best option. Highly recommend.

The capsule door

Foam soundproofing in capsule. Multiple sources of lighting inside. I checked in late, but still had staff to show facilities and give a tour.

Single bathroom and shower. There can be queues during busy times.

Staff were lovely and welcoming. The design of the place is sleek and clean, bathroom is great! Big lockers for stuff and the pods themselves were cool design, I like the lighting and sound element.

There’s air con in the pod but it isn’t very strong and can get pretty warm.

Very nice little hostel with a small amount of guests. The staff was very, very helpful and it was nice to chat with them.

The common area is too small, hardly any place to sit and meet people. The light alarm doesn’t work.

Very kind and helpful staff who guided me through a technical difficulty with my phone interfering with check-in(everything is QR code based), and just by talking in a soothing way made me feel less tired despite being awake for 34 hours and confounded by being on the first night of my first trip outside my country.

Didn't notice any negatives really.

New hotel with very modern facilities. Clean rooms and staff was very friendly. The location is also amazing as it is close to the station and 5min walking distance from big mall and a beautifull shrine.

Controlling everything by qr code was an interesting experience, but seems a bit harsh if you only have slow and old phone. Although I had no troubles there.
