Maybe I missed something, but I didn't get the impression there was a lot to do in Fukui city. The "action", meaning restaurants, shops, etc. , seemed to be clustered around the station. Fukui Manten Hotel is right next to the station, so the location is excellent. My room was typical Japan clean and pleasant, slightly more spacious than a lot of other rooms I've stayed in here. I thoroughly enjoyed the public bath, which was relaxing and also relatively spacious. When I reserved, I opted for the breakfast, and wasn't disapointed. You get a choice of "western" or "Japanese" style set, and then things like rice, breads, salad bar, yogurt, juice, coffee, are help yourself style. All in all, fresh, tasty, and easy to fill up. The staff was friendly and efficient. I arrived early on a rainy day and could leave my luggage with them while I went out to explore the area before checking in. The next day, I could leave my luggage with them again after checking out and then I was off to visit Eiheiji Temple (by bus from the station). Being right next to the train and bus station, the hotel makes a good base for exploring some of the highlights of Fukui Prefecture. Overall, I had a very nice stay. Thanks!

Excellent breakfast, clean room, good amenities, my husband enjoyed hot spring. I requested and received extra blanket for my child. They provide extra pillow too. I needed extra pillow because I am pregnant. I would repeat this hotel if I come here.

I forgot to include breakfast for my stay. I asked if we can purchase add-on breakfast for the next day but the answer vary between staffs. The answer I was given ‘We cannot confirm yet but please ask again later’, then, ‘no breakfast bcs it’s already full’ but when we asked again during the evening, they said they can provide the breakfast. I hope this could improve later because the staff who said ‘no’ seems cold to me.

The front desk staff were nice, the breakfast was ok, two choices of western or japanese breakfast, mini buffet of salads, soups, bread. Free freshly-cooked ramen from 2130-2230. Nice public bath with indoor and outdoor onsen, with a cold pool and sauna as well. Fresh towels and kimonos provided everyday as we requested not to clean the room. They also provided kid stuff like toothbrush and slippers. Coffee and water provided in lobby for free. Available coin laundry on site. Umbrellas provided during rainy days.

Room was a bit small. Cleaning staff weren't as helpful with our request to clean out the trash.

Cool hotel with all amenities available close by. Right by the station is extremely helpful for on the go sightseeing. Extremely helpful staff with the kiosk style check in offering lots of information about the stay. For our circumstance of a single night, this was a perfect fit, though staying longer would still be comfortable.

Seperate hot and cold taps for the shower. That's not a terrible thing. It just stood out against other places.

The location next to the train station and many restaurants was just perfect! The beds are comfortable, staff always friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

There was a squeezing noice from the window at night when it was windy. But there was a construction site outside and the windows did cancel the sound completely. That was great.

Location was perfect, both for train travel and evening meals. Also having a laundry was great.

External signage. We were right there and didn't realize until we googled address and found we were right outside and saw the English sign which doesn't face outward.

Compared to all the other 3 star hotels I stayed at in Japan, this one had the most space. - Very close to Fukui station and lots of stores nearby - No problems with the room - Friendly staff some of who speak English

- Spotting the hotel when exiting Fukui station for the first time may be a little difficult as the signage is in Japanese. The hotel is to your left when exiting the station

The room was spacious and comfortable. There were a lot of food varieties for breakfast. Although there were a lot of people during breakfast time, you don't have to wait long to get your food because the hotel has a systematic system to handle the crowd and the kitchen staff were really efficient and helpful.

The hotel was a bit difficult to find for the first time even while using Google maps. The hotel could put signboards near the train station to show the direction to the hotel to make it easier to locate.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was right next to the station. Everywhere was really clean and the room was warm. The shower was hot and powerful. They provided toiletries and free water to refill. The WiFi worked perfectly. There were lots of restaurants and shops nearby. It was easy to get to the dinosaur museum from here.
