Wonderful Ryokan experience Service: this is the best part of the experience in this onsen - hotel. People are friendly, kind and patient (with our basic Japanese, especially because we were among the very few westerners). They anticipated our needs more than a few times. Honestly one of the best experience we had in Japan across our visits. Location: perfect for visiting Kotaijingu (Naiku) and enjoying Okage Yokocho Breakfast: we had the Japanese style and it was simply fantastic. Food is tasty and it changes everyday. Room (with bed): comfortable and the bed is not too hard or too soft. The entire hotel is covered in tatami, so no shoes inside and this makes it very cozy and family like Onsen: spacious and comfortable. We used the common one and in the evening there were only a few guests. Reminder for the western readers : an Onsen Is a naturist bath, you need to wash before entering the water. Also it is seperated men and women.

Amazing breakfast, both the Western and the Japanese. Beautiful rooms, super friendly staff (both Japanese and English speaking available), really nice bath facilities including individual baths for couples (or people with tattoos), and in-room showers plus private bathtubs on the balcony of each of our rooms. Easy walk to Ise Jingu.

The service and food at this inn is truly exceptional. I travelled with Japanese friends and e en they were impressed with the room, service and quality of the food. This is not a small family run ryokan. It is an exceptional Japanese experience that will help you to understand the culture and style of Japan.

There was really nothing. It was flawless

Traditional hotel and very close to Ise main shrine.

Enormously overpriced. Have had similar facilities and ambiance for third of price.

- Just to be clear, we didn't like anything in this hotel (for the only time of our one month trip in Japan) except comprehensive english speaking receptionist who should move, and car parking service men). - Just find any other hotel, make reservation in outside restaurants, and enjoy Ise beautiful

Very bad value for money, and the Worst possible dinner and hotel experience 1. Dinner food was so bad that we hardly ate anything. On the 2nd evening we preferred not to eat rather than endure another too unpleasant dinner. 2. Bedrooms had a strong unpleasant musty smell (due to the plastic shower without ventilation?) 3. Lack of respect for tourists: the hotel Manager, really dishonest, tries to add charges to (western?) customers, even if you stay 2 nights: this is an unbearable practice and the worst hotel experience of our 1-month stay in Japan. We had to force this manager (that doesn't speak a word of english) to call the owner of the hotel in order to correct the unfair price he wanted to charge us in addition! Very unpleasant stay, i recommend to nobody. 4. That is a bit middle-age tradition, but tourists should dislike it: the hotel is promoting shark fish and food with papers in the rooms, and shark products in their shop: yet another reason to boycott this appalling hotel.
