This is a gracious ryokan tucked away in a tiny back street in the hot springs district of Kofu. It looks old, but is scrupulously clean and comfortable. The reception area looks out onto a Japanese garden with a small pond with koi carp. The room was a spacious 10 mat size and very comfortable, and as well as an alcove, there was a wooden balcony with outside seating. Breakfast and dinner were served in the restaurant, you had your own table with your name on it, and the food was excellent. The onsen was wonderful, male and female baths were swapped during the day so you could have a different experience.

While in some ways it was ideally situated in the hot springs area, it was a little too far to walk to Kofu Station where the transport was, for example to go to Shosenkyo Gorge. The taxis weren't very expensive though.

Beautiful & clean. Very friendly staff. We enjoyed the traditional room, meals & onsen. Be hungry when you go - both the dinner and breakfast had too much food for me. I ate as much as I could. I wish I could have asked for a ‘small’ version of the meals beforehand. I was still full from dinner when we went for breakfast.

The ryokan itself was really nice, with a beautiful pond! The staff was super friendly and the food so delicious (although a little too filling for most of my friends haha)

It is quite inconvenient to get to, you will definitely need a car. Also if you would like to explore the surrounding village, you will need a car as well. Unless you want to walk for 1+ hours

Breakfast and dinner were great, so were the onsens. Staff were very helpful despite the language barrier. Service was fantastic and the room was spacious I enjoyed the massage chairs

The traditional cozy rooms, the onsen, and food were very good.

Some of the electronics such as the hairdryer could need replacement.

The garden and patio attached to the room where we could see Quince fruit growing on a tree. The outer part of the room near the garden was also excellent, and the room size was large. The staff were also very nice.

Two main problems: the hot springs, especially the rotenburo and sauna were under repair. The outdoor wooden tub was out of service, like the sauna. The rotenburo that was usable was largely covered in white silicon or plaster, obscuring the rocks. There also should have been more higher seats in the bathing area. The second problem was the dining room, which had no view, and had white florescent lights, which reminded me of a hospital. Also, I had to call the front for the wireless password. Why can't that be listed in the room?

Its a lovely very traditional ryokan and the staff is friendly and tries their best to make your stay comfortable.

We had booked a room with a hot tub but apparently that was not available. Upon asking about the room we were told that there was no room with a hot tub, but it was in the description of the room we booked. We had chosen this ryokan as we had two travellers with tattoos and we knew they would not be allowed into the Onsen part of the hotel, so we booked a room with hot tub to make up for that. Communication was difficult as none of the staff spoke any english. Nearly no information in the hotel is in English, not even in the booklet in the room except for the emergency sheet.
