We booked the room stay with both dinner and breakfast. Both meals were Japanese style, which we were very happy about. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, suitcase could be fully opened with a lot of space to walk around still. Bathroom unit is the standard one you could see in most hotel in Japan. There are 2 big supermarkets (one is AEON, the other I forgot) within 10 minutes walk, and they are opposite each other, so it's very convenient. The gentleman worked at the front desk speaks good English which makes things so much easier, and he's super friendly as well. The floor we stayed had book shelves of manga for guests to read.

Would be great if some simple fruit could be included in the dinner. Also there's a few steps you need to go up before reaching the lift, so needed to do some luggage lifting.

The location is superb! It’s about 5 minutes walk from the JR train station. And just 3 minutes away from the famous Lion stone (狮子岩）by the beach. The room is small but very quiet and comfortable. Staffs are very friendly! Very nice breakfast!

Second stay here when hiking. Looks like room was redecorated recently so nice and clean. Chose room without bathroom cos I like the small onsen in the basement. Free washer and dryer. Great Japanese food for dinner and breakfast. Lovely staff except for the young male staff at checkin.

Definitely better than expected. The evening receptionist was kind and friendly, tried to explain things to me even though I understand minimal Japanese, I really appreciate. Ofuro was nice ( common shower and bath). My room was quite big and comfortable. Love the futon bed.

3min walk from the train station, the double room is so much better than the single room, larger room in upper floor, quiet, and has 2 big baths for men&women, free for the guests

Gigantic room, super quiet, the bath was super nice. If you order the food (not included) it is delicious (was not vegetarian maybe you need to ask in advance for that). Staff friendly. Had a very nice stay. Supermarket nearby

Very close to the center of town and close to the ocean.

Lobby area was a little musty smelling but rooms were great, except for the 3 spiders in the room!

Good breakfast included. I was walking the Kumano Kodo so this location was perfect. Not luxury, but good.

Not much choice for eating in Kumano

In the center of Kumano. Close to the train station and many restaurants and shops. Close to the main street that takes to Kumano (but not too close)

The hotel looks pretty old, it is possible to see here and there the wallpaper peeling off. It would need a little renovation.
