Located very close to Nijo Station (fyi: we loved a ramen shop there), we were excited to experience the traditional Japanese sleeping arrangement with tatami mats and futons, and it did not disappoint. The bathroom was well-equipped and impeccably clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Additionally, the property offers a free laundry area where you can wash and dry your clothes.

The only two disappointing points were that the sliding glass door couldn’t be fully opened—it was locked without any explanation—which made me feel a bit claustrophobic, though I eventually got used to it. Additionally, while it’s true you can wash and dry your clothes for free, the laundry area wasn’t very clean. For instance, the washing machines had soap powder residue left behind by people (even though they were meant for liquid detergent!) and it seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. It was ok for us, but not every guest is so understanding.

Very conveniently placed to the Nijo Train Station which is only 3 stops from Kyoto’s main station. There was a lot of space for 2 single people sharing a room. The bathroom was comfortable and there was room to move around in it.

Whilst there was a kettle that was all. The cups didn’t have handles so you had to wrap tissues around them if you had a hot drink and there was nothing to stir the drink with. There were no plates or saucers to place food on and only a towel each so when one towel got completely wet accidentally, there wasn’t another. The beds were without headrests and not against a wall which made it difficult to sit up in bed to read etc. All the above is minor but when staying a few days and coming back to your room after walking many kilometres, those things made a difference.

-Great and super convenient location (200 meters away from Nijo Station -with train, buses, and metro close by) -The hotel is quiet, and nice. -The room is spacious and comfortable. Even if minimalist, it has everything you need. The small fridge in the room was very much appreciated. -Everything was clean and neat. -The futons and pillows were super comfortable. -Staff was amicable and helpful. -Wifi worked perfectly fine. -We used the laundry, it was convenient, and for free! -We had a great stay, and we are grateful for a wonderful time in Kyoto!

A social project hotel where a % of the hotel income goes towards supporting single mums. Good location in a neighborhood to experience local living - far enough yet close enough to the city center with public transport. 5 mins walk to Nijo station and a large local supermarket & Muji opposite Nijo station. 5 mins walk to Daiso. 2 mins walk to convenience stores.

Judging its cost, this hotel provides the best space for its guests. It's very close to JR/Subway as well.

There was no breakfast despite there was an instruction on the door saying that the breakfast could be pre-booked. Nonetheless it wasn't too problematic as Japan's convenient stores provide the best food in the world.

Have to fill up details on the front desk tablet to check in. Check out easy and fast. Can leave luggage at storage upon check out if required. Close to Nijo station. Located next to a main street. Looks clean and new. Got washing machine to use free on the 2nd floor. Dryer not hot enough but you can go to coin laundry at Kyoto Coop building nearby. Staff very polite and helpful. Overall it was a decent stay for us, a family of 5.

Tons of room, lots of natural light and exceptionally clean. The area is quiet and close to a train station which will take you anywhere you need to go. Close to bus stops for other destinations. There are many close by convenience stores. It was my mother, husband and son who stayed in the room and we were very comfortable. Onsite free laundry and good security. Having a hot bath at the end of your day is really nice too as there is alot of walking in Japan.

Great location, easy access to Kyoto station and other main attractions in the city. It’s next to a major station and there are couple supermarkets and stores around! The room is spacious and clean! Very comfortable and nice! Staffs are super helpful and friendly

Extremely large room for jp standard. Tatami was very comfortable. Hotel have washing machine and dryer which made it extremely convenient. Great location for JR, subway and there's a few restaurants around so u don't have to worry abt food. Nothing fancy but at least the restaurants were walking distance

Location was close to transport, supermarkets and food but not central. We liked it though, it was nice and quiet to retreat to each night and felt urban and part of the local environment.
