The Dormy Inn is a great hotel. My family booked two western-style rooms that were next to each other. Their rooms are large, especially by Japanese standards. My wife stayed at another hotel a few days later in Mito, and thought she was sleeping in a coffin. Their onsen was excellent and I suggest any westerner should try it. The 9:30 pm chef-prepared ramen was the best I’ve ever had. The hotel is located nearby all of Mito City’s main tourist attractions and is only a few blocks from Mito Station. It is $25 one-way to go to Tokyo Station on a limited Express train, which takes about an hour. The staff can understand and communicate in very basic English, but have Google Translate available just in case. There are many restaurants nearby. Make sure to have Google Translate because not every restaurant has an English menu or speaks English.

Everything was great.

Conveniently located not far from the train station and the bars and restaurants that surround it. Kind staff and a clean, straight room with a comfy bed. All as it should be. My personal favorite was the hot-spring bath on the 10th floor. It was REALLY great - I used it a great many times. Ideal after-work relaxation.

The view from the room was almost depressing - nothing but apartment blocks, parking lots and a car wash. Yet, that is Mito in general... not the most idyllic of towns.

Great hotel with services I didn't expect - free beautiful clean onsen, ice cream in the afternoon, probiotic drink in the morning, wide selection for breakfast, free noodles in the evening, great location for my needs. Next time I will look for this hotel brand again when traveling in Japan.

Smaller room, but like everywhere else in Japan, that's the norm here.

Facilities of the hotel is amazing. The rates include access to the public onsen (cold & hot available) upstairs. And complimentary usage of the massage chairs outside (15min per usage for consideration of other guests). Complimentary yakult (morning) & ice cream (at night). And if you're hungry at night, the restaurant downstairs offer half portion shoyu ramen to all guests from 2130hrs till broth is finished. A comforting snack indeed.

Customer service at the reception, though acceptable, didn't seem warm.

The free coffee in the morning & ramen and yakult at night is a nice touch. Also liked that they have an onsen. Room was comfy with all the amenities. Location is also central.

Wasn't able to reserve parking before arrival so had to park at a nearby parking which was really hard to find. Was able reserve next day parking once i was there.

The staff, especially the front desk (a bit less the restaurant) - they really give you a 5 star treatment. The location of the hotel. The ramen in the evening. Easy parking. Quite nice breakfast, given the price.

The rooms are on the small side, but that is the norm for this hotel chain. The price is adapted thereto.

Love the facilities and extras that Dormy Inn provides in most of their hotels. Enjoyed the onsen and free popsicles, free probiotic drinks. We used the laundry machines which were efficient. The buffet breakfast was very good with selection of Japanese and western. This time we didn't have the late night free ramen which is also delicious.

hotel public bathroom was very nice with hot spring water.. after bath, Yakult or Ice cream was prepared as free..

We booked queen bed as twin room was not available... room seemed to be a little small but ok to stay for a few days...

Clean, close to the station and with really friendly and helpful staff. It’s everything you expect from a Dormy Inn. The bath area was particularly good.

A very good hotel with an exceptional urban onsen. My favourite choice for all my business and personal trips to Mito.
