We loved the hospitality of the host and his lovely homely place which was warm, with soothing soft jazz music playing in the evening, a nice hot Onsen downstairs and while we were in single beds they were quite comfortable for a good nights rest. The breakfast each morning was very nutritious. We hired a car so the location was good to get around to the various ski lodges. We loved our stay for 6 nights at the Pension.

It’s not that we didn’t like anything at the property but just to let fellow travellers know the lovely elder host is running the pension on his own and he doesn’t do dinners (which is fair enough). He doesn’t have back up frozen dinners to purchase but if you are prepared and buy at the local supermarkets you can use the accessible fridge to store your food. There are no nearby restaurants around the pension for dinner. Don’t worry you won’t starve :)

Great ski location for Iwate Kogen Snow Park and Amihari Onsen Ski Resorts. The owner was very kind and hospitable, would recommend this lodge to my Aussie travellers. Owner provided lifts to Iwate Kogen Snow Park and Amihari Onsen Ski Resort.

A car recommended for transport (Icy driving conditions during winter) or prepare transport via Taxi.

The host, Akira San was kind & very hospitable. He made us feel very welcome. The dining/lounge area is very cosy & Akira always has lovely music playing from his extensive jazz collection. The breakfast was excellent. Amihari & Iwate ski resorts are both only a few minutes drive away. The rooms are very comfortable & the Onsen style bath was just perfect after a day's skiing.

Wonderful host, amazing food, we ordered dinner and it was an amazing feast. Old school Pension, comfortable but not fancy. Location is perfect (need car) great stay, great ski!

No dramas drying ski clothes in room, but drying room would be nice.

The elderly gentlemen owner speaks very good English and is very kind and accommodating. The place is very quiet. The room is warm. The place is well decorated like a comfortable home.

The room is a bit small. Would be nice to have more hangers on the wall for hanging things.

A pension close (very close) to the ski slope. Excellent host, who drove me to the slope very day. Even tho you could walk it. Basic, but everything needed for a few days of skiing. An ofuro meant an achey body was ready for the next day.

At the end of the season so very quiet - I was the only guest. So no nearby shops or catering.

Great location, friendly owner and excellent breakfast.

Bed mattresses could be upgraded. Some dust in rooms.

We liked the wooden finish feeling and architecture of the whole house. It was well heated inside with cozy rooms, and dining area is so beautiful.
