The room is clean and fun, the hotel keeper is super nice, the location is nice. First, this youth hotel have a lot of little cute things that make people feel happiness, this hotel is my dream house. Second, I lost my battery bunk accidentally in the journey, hotel keeper called bus center immediately, although I didn’t find it at last, but that’s makes me feel comfortable. Last, this youth hotel is near Sandanbeki, you can come to this view for sunrise and sunset, it’s very convenient.

The venue of the guest house is excellent, just 1-minute walk from bus station 'Santuanpeki, which is 30 minute bus from JR station (JPY480) . Fancy and cozy public area with lots of traditional Japanese elements and free tea & coffee (machine). 1st floor is mix dorm and 2nd floor are private rooms. All-rounded kitchen and wash machine. Nice host couple even provided a free ride to JR station for my train earlier than the first local bus. Thank you and highly recommended.

We booked this place largely based on the pictures (the Showa era feel) and the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and our expectations were exceeded. This place has a lot of heart and charm, and is very well-equipped. Everything is set up with thought and care. Also very clean and comfortable. We recommend hiring a car for the Wakayama region, so you don't have to grapple with the public buses, especially if you have a lot of bags! Driving these roads is a breeze and it really opens up the area to you.

Fabulous guesthouse at the end of the Shirahama bus route. The guesthouse offers either private rooms or a dormitory. There is a large communal area, kitchen, food "shop", bathrooms and toilets on the first floor. The kitchen is well equipped for full meal preparation. On the second floor there is another communal area, toilet and private rooms. The owners are super friendly, helpful and speak English. The local bus to Shirahama station and highway bus to Osaka stop right outside.

I would stay here again but you need to know that there is nothing open around here in the evening. That said you can buy food and alcohol, including the local craft beer, at the guesthouse.

It's very clean! Never expected a guesthouse to be this clean. It definitely has increased my expectations for all the other guesthouse that I'll be staying. And the price for the room, it's just fantastic. Keep it up! Because it's very hard for us to get a stay at this price. Wouldn't have come to such a beautiful place if this guesthoise didn't exist. Thank you very much for offering such a place for us!

Although there are rules about noise and running, some guests just won't follow rules. Can't blame the guesthouse on this.

Friendly and helpful owner. All standard amenities are provided for free. Laundry is 200 yen for washing and 100 yen for drying per 30 minutes. There is a clothes rack for hanging clothes, and in the room, there is also a retractable clothesline. The guests were respectful during my stay, so there was no noise during the night. The stores nearby are closed after the evening, but can buy food at the guesthouse.

Sandanya is a lovely and unique guest house.Impeccably clean,with spacious Japanese style rooms and beautiful ground floor area with amazing collections of Japanese dolls,glasses,shells and so much more..There is a pc corner, too. Regarding travel necessities,whatever you think of-the owner already has it covered.Hygiene sets,maps,bus passes,plenty of fridge/freezer space,nice,fragrant towels..can’t praise this place enough.For western travellers,don’t be put off by shared toilets and bathrooms:all in pristine conditions,even with bath mats changed after every use. The owner speaks English and is very helpful and friendly.Location wise,it’s a literally min away from Sandanbeki cliffs and if you want to go down the hill to some onsen or to Shirahama beach,the bus stop is just next to the house.Walking to Shirahama beach is easy, only takes 20 min,with 2 foot baths along the way. I stayed 4 nights there and loved everything about this guesthouse.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom house and it was really well-provisioned. You could just move in with your clothes and with a shopping trip to the supermart, you would be able to enjoy all kinds of meals and refreshments in the fully equiped kitchen, dining, living and bedroom quarters. Sleeping rooms are upstairs and the bath, kitchen and living/dining rooms are downstairs. It is very well-kept and clean and comfortable. Truly a place you would want to call home. It was among the best stay we had and I wish I had stayed longer. Located just at the entrance of the Sandanbeki Cliff and walking distance from the Shenjojiki Rock Plateau, this is the best place for lovers of geologic attractions.

Amazing experience. A souvenir store and cafe from the 1930s converted into a guesthouse. Clean. Comfortable. Excellent facilities including kitchen access and food items to purchase if needed. Bus from Shirahama Station and Tanabe Station stop outside. Walking distance to a cliffs, beach, supermarkets, and parks. There is alot of love given to running this guesthouse. We stayed 4 nights.

Nice place and staff. The owner make sure you have everything you need. You have a towel free of charge and a lot of cheap food (snacks, drinks, food cheaper than konbini) you can buy. A manga reading corner has (almost?) all Naruto, SnK and One Piece mangas so manga readers can look forward to it.
