We were given a corner room on the top floor which has an extra ledge at the corners which were big enough to put our suitcases and other stuff. This made the room seemed bigger than the states size. Thank you Sun Palace for giving us that room! Location was also very near Shizuoka station yet was on a quiet street. Maybe restaurants and convenience stores nearby, including at Shizuoka station.

The curtains were just a bit too short and let in some light at the bottom where it met the ledge. A bit annoying but could be solved by putting items in front of the curtains to block the light at the bottom.

Perfect accommodation. Staff super nice and kind, location very handy, literally 3 minutes walk from the train station and not far from city center. Room quite spacious and silent, with all the necessary, plus no short of amenities (toothpaste, toothbrush, slippers...). With a comfortable and pretty big bed. Neighborhood not very lively, but there are a few good restaurants just across the hotel. And all this comes with a very convenient price.

Maybe the only little downside is the check in time, provided only from 3:30 pm...

It's pretty close to the Shizuoka Station, making things very convenient. After staying in two different hotels in Tokyo, I moved on to this one which cost about half as much as the previous two per night. As far as rooms went, this was a lot more spacious than I anticipated. For half the price of a 2/3 star hotel in Tokyo, you get a room in this hotel that's twice as big with the same amenities.

I honestly don't know what else I'd ask for in this case. There's breakfast available for a reasonable cost if I wanted it. Free flowing coffee would've been nice, but also a bit much to ask. The vending machine at the 6th floor suited me just fine.

Really nice and close to the station, nice sized TV and free included bottle of water. I also left my case there before checking in later and when I did check in it was a lovely surprise that my case had already been put in my room!

There’s an Irish pub on one side of the hotel (the side I stayed) and it was loud until quite late at night. As I wasn’t able to make the air con cooler I tried to sleep with the windows open but it was just too noisy. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but it definitely made my stay a little frustrating.

Short walk from Shizuoka Station. Plenty of food/drink options near by. Guinness on tap right next door to the hotel!! Room was simple and small, but met my needs. Very clean. Breakfast was a choice between a Japanese or western breakfast and was served (not a buffet). Very tasty and sufficiently portioned. Self-serve coffee, water and curry was good!

Corridors are not temperature controlled. They were hot and humid during the stay (summer time). One tiny pillow in room.

Very comfortable beds and reasonably sized room. Very close to Shizuoka station and easy to access. Staff is very nice and are helping the best they can. Vending machines and a microwave are also available.

This hotel is using hotel keys (not keycards), which you need to return to front desk when you go out and need to pick it up again when you come back. This is not a big problem at all, but maybe upgrading to keycards might make this hotel more 'modern'.

The location is very near to Shizuoka station which is an A++. It is an old hotel but well kept and maintained. Clean...Clean...very clean. Breakfast was either Japanese or Western and both are good. Room size enough for 2 persons with 2 medium size luggage plus still got room to move around. Front desk, friendly and helpful.

Great value for money, larger than normal Japanese hotel rooms, a few minutes (6-8 minutes) walk from the Shizuoka train station. Nice service, the breakfast was included for us (otherwise at 1000 yen per person) and you may choose between western style and Japanese style.

A larger bathroom would have been nice.

Great location that's very close to the station and also close to a lot of restaurants and coffee shops. Even though the hotel is a little 'tired' and could do with an upgrade, it served our needs perfectly. The room was a bit larger than a standard business hotel room in Japan. The lobby is spacious which is also a good thing when compared to newer hotels that have tiny lobbies and front desks. The charge for a late check out at 13:00 was very reasonable. And finally the Smart TV in the room was a nice touch.
