Nice and quiet hotel. Beautiful lake view from the room window. Very friendly staff despite me speaking mainly English. Onsen was very relaxing. Best of all, this was one of the cheaper ryokan-style hotels, especially compared to the ones at the base of the mountain (Ikaho Onsen). Normally I have trouble sleeping on futons on the tatami mat floor as I prefer softer beds, but I had no problem with this location's setup -- had a great rest every night. Meals were delicious and very filling (breakfast and dinners). Staff are very friendly and will greet you and show you to your table. Note to other travelers: - There is no shower or bath in the individual rooms, only a sink and toilet. You must use the communal shower/bath during the scheduled hours, but they are relatively convenient. - Renting a car is recommended if possible. The location can be a bit inconvenient if you need to rely on the bus system or taxi. There are no convenience stores nearby, and the local restaurants at the top of the mountain close relatively early. If you are booking this place, be sure to find places to eat before hand or book the hotel dinner in advance.

WiFi signal for my room was a bit weak, but still usable.

Over all value for Money. Quite big onsen in great location. Spacious traditional rooms in a 60’s or 70’s concrete building. Outdoor onsen especially for male is great. The dinner and breakfast were great. Well presented and a great variety of dishes!

The onsen could capitalise much more from the view over the lake but this was blocked by the rail / balustrade- even more for the female onsen. The resting area in front of the onsen was not inviting…

The breakfast is normal buffet, but there are enough variety of food for us. the room is spacious for two persons. There are bicycles for guests to ride for free.

I booked dinner to start at 6:30pm, but I found it was ready when I came down at 6:20. The problem is the grilled fish has been cold and the skin of fish became hard and not suitable to eat. The grand bath is good, but the facility in it is a bit running down, the ceiling and the pool side need to renovate.

I came because of Initial D, wasn’t expecting one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The staff was very courteous and friendly. They provided us with an amazing breakfast every morning and had a very cozy and clean room. They had amazing reading options and the way to the Lake was very fun. It was an amazing experience, I will definitely return.

Location right by the lake is great, the staff were really accomodating and the onsen was also top quality. One traveler requested a change in the standard breakfast which was surprisingly agreed with the chef.

Restroom ventilation was covered in dust, making it fall on you while you were sitting there. Also, the pictures on booking.com show that the breakfast is a buffet but in reality they are still stuck in the Corona era, and serve only standard breakfast (which is very good nonetheless).

The room was amaizing! It was very traditionally japanese and some amaizing sweets and tea were left in the room for us to enjoy. The onsen was great and relaxing and the breakfast that was included in the booking was very delicious and healthy. Very nice view from all rooms as well!

As usual great dinner, this time in the tatami room and not the restaurant, made it even better. It doesn't feel crowded even though a lot of rooms were reserved. Onsen was perfect. A must stay in the Takasaki area.

Awesome location, all rooms face the lake. Onsen open 24/7, except 2 hours for cleaning. Rooms Japanese style, very cool. Nice balcony with two chairs and a table. Great breakfast.

No dinner without reservation and no place around to eat; just some snack in the gift shop.
