The staff was very nice. I gave them my arrival time and the owner was waiting for me outside the hotel. He took my suitcase and carried it upstairs. Both owners were very attentive and they both communicated in English. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had nice amenities. The wifi was private. Room was cleaned as often as I wanted. Location was within 8 minutes off Ikebukuro station and there were ample convenient stores and grocery stores around. There is a laundromat just outside the hotel and it was affordable to do laundry often. I am planning on a 14 day stay next year.

The hotel is well located in an area in Ikebukuro with a lot of restaurants and other hotels. It is very close to Ikebukuro station (less than 15min on foot) and also very close to the main areas in Ikebukuro (about 20min on foot). The staff was very friendly and you could communicate in English. The room was spacious and had everything you needed. A fridge, counter space, a desk, and pajamas were provided. The bathroom was not too small and came with towels, a floor mat, bottles of shower products (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) and a hairdryer. It did include a modern toilet and a bathtub. Really nice for the price and at a good location in Tokyo.

The hotel doesn't have a lift but the staff helpfully offered to carry the luggage up instead. The room felt a bit dark because the walls were painted a light plum colour and because it only had a window which opened to a white wall maybe 30cm away, however, there were enough lights in the room that it wouldn't feel stuffy. The room doesn't come with a dresser and had only 3 coat hangers, so it was easier to live out of the suitcase. The door doesn't lock by itself so you have to remember to manually lock it once you come inside.

Lovely staff, even made the effort to greet us in our language. We could enter our room hours before our check in time- however because we would still have to wait for about an hour for the room to be cleaned, we went ahead with our day and when we came back late in the night our bags were already brought in our room. Spacious rooms, didn't expect such spaciousness in Tokyo. Clean and equipped with pretty much every amenity we could need. Very comfortable. There's a coin laundry facility right next to the entrance of the hotel. Excellent value for money! Greatly affordable! We loved the neighborhood, can't recommend Ikebukuro enough as your base in Tokyo. It's a hub and it's so easy to commute and even though it's central, it's far enough from the crowds of other main touristic areas. Lots and lots of places to enjoy food, drinks and the everyday life.

Maybe it's a bit outdated decoratively speaking, but honestly we couldn't care less. There's no elevator and this can be an issue for some.

I had a great stay here! The location is perfect, less than 10 minutes from Ikebukuro Station but in a quiet area. The room was very clean, really spacious for Tokyo, and had all the useful amenities I needed. The owners are really nice and helpful, the owner even helped carry my luggage up and down the stairs. I was also able to leave my luggage both before check-in and after check-out, and early check-in was possible too. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Tokyo!

Akihiro and Mariko, the owners, were wonderful! They helped us carry our bags up the stairs when we arrived. They could speak English well too Akihiro even helped us call another accomodation in Shirakawa-go to book us a night's stay as we couldn't find anything available online. The rooms were extremely spacious for Tokyo. We got a single and a twin bedroom and they both had plenty of space. The heater was great and worked well in the cold. The shower was hot and had a good spray. They provided room service and towel change if we needed it. We were provided pajamas, water bottles, toothbrush, razor, hair brush as well and the usual soap, shampoo, and conditioner. They also had umbrellas to borrow. The coin laundry, convenience store and supermarkets were basically next to or opposite the hotel too. The walking distance to busier part of town was about a 5-10 minute walk and then probably another 5-10 minutes of navigating the station itself. The roads were flat and easy to walk on though so not really an issue. I was travelling with my parents who are 60 and they were fine with it. Overall, a fantastic stay for the price and assistance of Akihiro and Mariko. Will definitely return here!!

In a great area 10 minutes from the train station with 2 convenience stores near by and a vending machine right out front. The man at the front desk checked me in when I arrived and carried my luggage for me upstairs. The front door is open 24 hours so you can come and go as you please. Nice spacious room too, bigger than other Tokyo hotels. Would definitely stay here again.

when i arrived i was given a room on second floor which smelled light cigarette due to smoking room down the hallway. I mentioned the smell was too strong and they quickly moved me to ground floor room which was much better

Room is bright and clean. It's surprisingly spacious, so no problem laying out our luggage on the floor. Strong Wi-Fi, ample electric sockets. Mineral water provided daily. Friendly owners, they could communicate with English, and help us with the luggage up the room, but note that there's no elevator. Just a few steps to two convenience stores and a supermarket. Location is fairly pleasant, but would get livelier as you walk towards exit C6 of Ikebukuro Station, and you could see more restaurants, convenience stores, drug store, bento store, and more. But to get to the very core of the station you might need to cater about 15 mins on foot. Quite value for money, considering the size of the room, and its location which is not that far away from the station.

No view as the window is frosted glass. Position of the air-con is not ideal, just need to stop the air flow from swinging down onto the beds. Thought of using its luggage storage after check-out, but decided not to after considering the walking distance from the station, and the need to retrieve before the reception close.

From the outside it is a very nondescript business hotel but the room is large, clean, comfortable, and fully functional. Very quiet inside. Friendly couple at the tiny front. Incredible value for Tokyo. Laundromat connected to the building.

You have to take the rather large key with you whenever you go out. Reception is rarely open (but if called, manager will come quickly).

The innkeepers are a warm and very hospitable couple. I enjoyed my welcoming conversation with them immensely. I was also impressed by Akihiro waiting in front of the hotel to check me in and with helping me to bring my heavy luggage to my room. The accommodation was basic but there were some thoughtful touches like ammenities (toothbrush, slippers, water bottle, ect. that made my stay very comfortable.) And I must say that everything was immaculate. The couple did an outstanding job!

There was no lift. Lugging luggage up and down the stairs was difficult.
