This has been my favorite onsen-hotel of the trip so far. An amazing dinner & breakfast was included, and the Western Bed was soft was very comfy (maybe a bit too soft in the mattress, but still 1000 times nicer than a futon on the floor). The men's onsen had a beautiful outdoor area with a waterfall and a koi pond. The women's side was not as nice however - they should switch the onsen pools for the genders every so often (my wife was jealous). They have delicious free milk and ice cream at the onsen area to help cool you off, and free bicycle rentals to explore the area. All in all a very nice and relaxing 2 day stay.

We made the huge mistake of hiring an outside "massuese" to come to the room thinking it would be western style where they would bring a table etc. This guy was absolute garbage and I honestly felt WORSE than before the massage. Absolute wannabe amateur. When my wife said we needed to get ready for dinner I was glad to tell the guy to stop early. Such a bad massage that it took me a full day to feel better again, like he erased the relaxation from the onsen for the day. Strongly advise do NOT get a massage here (he was from outside the hotel).

I love how traditional it looked. The location is not so far away from the Togura train station if you take the free shuttle by the hotel, it will be around 30min by foot. So it is convenient that the hotel have this free shuttle service. I purposely booked this hotel to experience onsen and hike the Togura Kitty Park which is about 15min walk from Togura station. I had a very relaxing stay, i wasn’t able to try the indoor onsen but i love the outdoor onsen! Also the food was fantastic, it was a lot of serving so I wasn’t able to finish everything. But everything is delicious! I booked a room for myself, but the room is so big it can fit 3 more people! My room have a good view too! The staff are very friendly and can speak English so the communication is not hard. I would love to comeback here!

The third time I've stayed and it's a Superior King Room. Very spacious and comfortable. Food is great and they were very accommodative to our requests. Will continue to speak highly of the warmth of the staff who were very warm and joyful the whole time. They make our stay there truly enjoyable. Onsen is also clean and there's a konbini at the back of the hotel which makes shopping for midnight snacks easy. The river is a nice walk , there are bicycles provides by hotel to be used. We had rented a car and managed to get around town which had beautiful places to head to. The hotel provided excellent quality amneties too.

This is not because of hotel but there were some other guests which didn't adhere to onsen rules.

They have shuttle service from the nearest station and the the staff who picked us up is very professional and accomodating, making our vacation from the start comfortable. The meals at the ryokan are top-notched considering the price, also the staffs who served the meals are very pleasant , professional and always cater to our needs. The onsen is also so good, both the indoor and the outdoor, a free drink and ice cream can be availed of after the onsen. Yukata, socks , slippers and bath towels for the onsen are all provided in the room. Free tea, cofee and complimentary water are also provided. Over all the care to the guest are so well thought of. Easily accessible from Nagano station. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay and found the onsens to be relaxing and just the right temperature. The Japanese style room was very comfortable and spacious. The food, especially the dinners, were delicious and beautifully and thoughtfully prepared. The staff kindly arranged pick up and dropoff from the Togura station to the hotel, and were very flexible with the timing. Overall, every small detail was thought about - they even provided some delicious cold milk and ice lollies after the onsen visits. Every interaction we had with staff members was positive, and we really appreciated how welcoming, cheerful, helpful, and kind everyone was. The staff also kindly arranged for vegetarian meals to be prepared for my sister. We could not manage to get the heater to work during our second night, but the staff immediately addressed the issue and provided an external heater. Overall we had a lovely stay and really appreciated the staff members!

One thing that could be improved is the vegetarian food selection - while it was good, it seemed relatively simpler and smaller in quantity compared to the regular meals.

The food, served in traditional Japanese style, was delicious and the portions huge. We really liked the onsen here, the whole place is clean and comfortable, and the shampoo and soap provided were very natural and smelt nice. The hospitality of the staff was very welcoming. It was also thoughtful to provide free rental of bikes and complimentary milk.

The room was a bit small for 3 persons and the bathroom was a bit tiny.

The rooms were large and yet cosy with Japanese tatami floors and a sunken dining table. Japanese dinner and breakfast was beautifully served (sorry, no choice of a menu) and yummy. Car was arranged to pick us up prior to arrival and drop off at train station. Bicycle rentals available if you want to enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Take note that the location is not anywhere near Nagano city, nearest train station is Ueda.

Everything was perfect. We enjoyed the spacious room and all amenities that were provided were of high quality. The onsen was beautiful, especially the RotenBuro(outside onsen) as it provided tranquil scenery with a pond and Koi, after dark it was especially peaceful while watching the snow fall and the fish swim. This Ryokan/Onsen is outside of Nagano, and about 30 minutes via train. While it was out of the way, the beginning-to-end experience was exceptional. Our traditional Japanese room was large, and well set up for a good night sleep. They helped us ship our suitcases to our next destination, making our next stage travel very easy. We opted for Kaiseki meals for dinner and breakfast. We had our own dining room for two and the food was excellent. About seven different stages were provided from chilled food to dessert. The sake pours were very very generous, and there was a good selection of sake to choose from. Breakfast was in the same private room, and just as varied. A really good start to the day.

Nothing comes to mind, and we only stayed overnight.

This is the second day I've stayed here and they've continued to exceed my expectations. Staff were warm and kind , dinner and breakfast were well curated kaiseki style , which stated as amazing as they look, with a glass of apricot liqueur. Room was roomy with very nice japanese touch in design. Really liked the ambience of the place. Bed is comfortable.
