The room was spacious for Japan standards, we stayed for 4 nights and it was very comfortable for our family of 3. We booked the twin room with sofa bed. Free parking and evening snacks/coffee/tea was wonderful. I also brought my child to the onsen and we had fun.
The aircon was hot throughout our stay and there is no temperature control in the room. On the 3rd night, we couldn’t endure anymore and went to feedback at the concierge. The solution was… they gave us a standing fan. Well, that helped a little but I’m still perplexed why the temperature cannot be lowered.

Staff are lovely and respectful and professional. I didn't use the Onsen in this hotel so can't comment on that. The hotel rooms are a little dated but roomy and perfectly clean. Courtesy bus takes you into the city each day which is really good because public transport costs about 5700 yen (a lot) from the city to the hotel. We thought we would just have a quiet day here with not much to do so we just walked around the suburban streets and stumbled across a museum and heritage walk. We actually had one of the nicest days of our Japan trip interacting with the friendly and hospitable people of Matsushiro. This town is very proud of their heritage and history.
This hotel is about a 30min bus ride out of Nagano city in Matsushiro. There are not many places to eat here esp on weekends as it's a quiet little town. The hotel restaurant is amazing with everything included in an extensive buffet as well as alcohol. But at 8000yen for dinner per adult that's a lot to pay if you don't drink alcohol and there are not many other choices of places to eat apart from the convenience store. We were only staying 2 nights so we had one meal in the hotel and one with food from the convenience store.

AMAZING breakfast and welcome drink bar during the day and each night. Very convenient shuttle to the station and supermarkets right next door. Also beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Would definitely stay again!
Rooms have not yet been renovated so have an older feel compared to the rest of the hotel. but they are still clean and very comfortable.

The view was spectacular and we used the onsen (first timers) which was such a relaxing way to end each day. I did wish there was a spa for people who like to wear bathers, but we braved it. Used the free shuttle to Negano Station and then want on to see the snow monkeys. What a beautiful town and beautiful people who live there. So kind.
I loved the property. Yes, the furniture is outdated for some, but we had a wonderful time and our children (young adults) were very sad to leave the Mecure. Might be a little out of the way if you want to go snow boarding at Shiga Kogan, and the free shuttle would be great if it went until 9pm. We missed a bus from the snow monkeys which in turn, made us miss the last free shuttle to the Mercure. We felt a little lost and overwhelmed but eventually found our way back

We really enjoyed our stay here, it's a massive hotel with great amenities. The food was delicious with a huge variety, and the happy hour and night cap was a great way to wind down after a busy day exploring. It's on the outskirts of Nagano so it was nice and quiet and our room had a fab view over the city. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was very comfortable and roomy.
The bathroom was a tad small and the room is getting outdated but still comfortable.

Cleanliness, spacious rooms, decadent onsen, helpful staff, huge selection of breakfast
We were there during 3-day weekends/holidays so the free shuttle bus was a bit of a competition. Had to be early to queue and couldn't afford to be punctual because the space was limited. We had to take Alpico Bus Line 30 to and from the station twice because the hotel shuttle bus was full. But it was a long holiday so it was what it was.

A great hotel to use as your base for the ski resorts. The breakfast was incredible and so much variety. We loved the complimentary evening drinks and treats. The Onsen was so clean and sitting outside in the snow was magical. Staff was all super helpful and friendly.
It’s about a 20 minute bus journey into the centre of Nagano and only a small village beside the hotel.

Friendly staffs, fantastic stay, comfortable beds and big nice rooms. We stayed here with 3 adults and 2 children and our stay was very comfortable. We stayed for a night and we were given a welcome drink with snack invite in a lounge at 9 PM. The hotel building and the setup looks old, however it does not disturb us since it has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

Wonderful place! Very cozy, relaxing with a super nice view of the green mountain. A bus stop is nearby and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast and dinner were very delicious with a wide choice.
