Salty’s is a real hub on Kilifi’s main beach — the only cool, vibe-y spot along a stretch of private villas and more staid resorts. For a very good price, you get great places to lounge, a scene-y restaurant that draws people from all over and first-rate kite surfing (we did not partake). Don’t miss the sister resto called Salty’s on the Creek! A boat serving ambitious, delicious food.

Some of the economy rooms are very small and stuffy. Cheap, yes, but ours had a single plastic standing fan and windows without screens. After a rough night, we upgraded to a larger room in the main house with a shared bathroom. Much nicer but twice the price at around 86 USD.

Very friendly staff, ready to help and provide advice, the rooms are nice and the whole atmosphere is very relaxed and peaceful. The rooms (at least the more economic ones), were well taken care of, they came in the afternoon set up the mosquito net and activated the repellant which was very nice. Unfortunately they were quite warm over the night despite the use of the fan provided.

Salty’s Kitesurf Village in Kilifi is a hidden paradise that exceeded all my expectations. The mesmerizing ocean view and pristine sandy beach make it a dreamy destination. The garden provided a serene space for work and meditation. What sets this place apart is its remarkable staff – friendly, helpful, and always going the extra mile. The breakfast served was not only delicious but also healthy, setting a positive tone for the day. The bar and restaurant, situated right next to the beach, offered mouthwatering dishes and a warm ambiance. It's a true gem for anyone seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

Loved the aesthetic and the vibe, all the plants and greenery, it really felt cosy and like a home from home. The bar by the beach was fantastic as well. Also great food and the staff were super friendly. There was a mix up between a shared and private bathroom but staff were amazing and sorted this for us no issue.

Wifi was a bit dodgy. We were trying to remote work for a bit and found it a bit challenging.

Great location for beach, relaxed vibe, friendly staff make you feel at home no matter your age, charming decor, amazing breakfast. Special shoutout to Luta at the front desk who is soooo kind and helpful, Winnie the masseuse who has « magic hands » and to all the bar staff.

AC would be great. It was insufferably hot some nights even with the fan

The location was excellent and the place was very much enjoyed. It was very pleasant, the rooms are well located and the property is great. A short walk to the restaurant and bar are right next to the beach and I always enjoyed it. The staff were great and you can see that the owners really took pride in offering a great place to stay.

Everything was good, so I don't have anything negative to provide.

Beautiful location with lovely bar and restaurant. Great fun being on the beach on a Sunday. Laundry service was good, even though it's not advertised.

Very small double bed in the economy room. It was my mistake to not read beyond 'The room includes bath' and not see thatit was a shared bathroom. So watch out for this.

Beautiful location, easy to get a tuk tuk in to town etc, nice breakfast with several options, plus they made us a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave early one morning. Fabulous bar. Very laid back place. Comfortable room. Friendly staff.

Curtains didn’t quite fully cover windows to hallway so just careful to make sure we got changed in an area that was out of view.

Fantastic stay, staff where amazing the beach is just a roll out of bed. Readily available transport available just outside to take you into town or where you need to go. Cleaning and care service of the rooms each day was a nice touch. Other guests were incredibly friendly which provided a welcoming space for solo/small groups travellers.

I would definitely opt for an en suit. The bed was a bit uncomfortable (a big dip in it) a bit noisy at night due to most properties being under trees and near strubs so you can really hear the wildlife out there.

We took a suite garden view and the room was amazing, but have seen the economic ones and it is simpler, small bed, but also confortable. In general the property is large, right on the beach, beautiful walks in the morning along the beach. The restaurant makes amazing food, every day a different menu, and great cocktails as well. In general, highly recommended!

Coffee in the morning can be improved.
