Big loooooove to this place! I am so happy I chose this hostel in Taman Negara. The family that is running the hostel is SO friendly, kind and sweet. It's very clean compared to all places I have been to in Malaysia, no animals/insects in the room! It's very quiet aswell but only 5 minutes walk from the park entrance. The bed was comfortable too. Bathroom was small, but the value for money is great here! I extended my stay! They also have wifi which is nothing to take for granted in Taman Negara.

The bathroom could have been bigger but honestly I don't have anything to complain here.

We were traveling with kids by car to Kuala Tahan. We found Julies hostel without any problem. Even though that check in was after 15.00 they allow us to check in earlier. Room was nice, comfortable beds and pillows. I have some doubts about the bathroom and shower but at the end everything was designed in a way that it worked. I also liked location. Few meters away from the main city part(mini markets, school, hospital) and 5 - 10 min walk to the river side.

AC is located above one bed, means that the second bed is having direct cold draft which was unplesent for sleeping. Otherwise was all ok.

A charming family run place in Kuala Tahan, opposite Taman Negara National Park. I had a comfortable room with double bed, aircon, ensuite facilities, and a small balcony with table and chairs. There is a hot/cold water dispenser available for drinks, and a flask in room for the hot water. There are restaurants within 2 mins walk where you can get amazing value breakfast and evening meals. The river quayside is less than 5 mins away, and you can get a water taxi for 1 RM each way on demand across to the entrance to Taman Negara NP

All features of the room seem quite new: floor, beds, shower & sink fixtures, etc. Everything very clean with no smells. There is instant hot water if you turn on the water heater, and the shower is in brand new shape. The staff offer a laundry service. The neighborhood is quiet, hotel is at the end of a street. Food options are easily within walking distance, and the river crossing is a 5 min walk down the slope. Best of all, you have the chance to see interesting birds from the terrace!

Small, but essential room with a little private bathroom inside. We had a little patio where to put clothes to dry. It's just on the other side of the river, a few mins walk from the floating restaurants and the bus parking. Ideal if you're staying a couple of days tops.

I wouldn't recommend it if you're traveling with heavy luggages, there is a very steep climb to get to the hostel and they don't have a car or someone who can come down for help, it was hard after a long journey

Staff were very helpful - one example was providing a washing service with no expectation for payment. The rooms were clean, and the AC worked very well. Rooms were private with ensuites and towels provided. Great location right next to the drop-off point for the bus from Jerantut and 3 minute walk down to the river. Snacks were a bonus!

The view onto a car-park was the only down-side I can think of. The location is so close to the river, national park and restaurants that it's unlikely the view will be too scenic. Also since you're probably going to be out in the park most of the time you're here, it's really not a major problem.

The location. I liked the people who run the place.. I'm a birder. I saw great stuff from the walkway outside my room. A crested eagle did some low loops. Comfy firm bed. The location is great. A few yards away there's a wonderful woman who sells cold fruit drinks. And it's quiet. The room isn't spacious, but I didn't care. Less AC energy wasted.

Very friendly, helpful and welcoming host and staff. Comfy bed, good aircon, good hot water, drinking water available to refill bottles to drink and helped to reduce plastic. Nice seating area outside with view of forest, close to boat crossing to national park and restaurants close by.

Slight smell from bathroom, though think it’s the drains, aircon quickly got rid of it when on though, and only a small issue.

Beds were very nice, staff was very friendly and helpful. Communication was great. Location was perfect. Just in general, very very good

Only a slight detail but the door to the bathroom wasn't nice. You have to be really careful with opening the door and its just not a nice lock system. Better use a normal door nob like the main door. But thats all that was negative so if thats the worst, then its an awesome place if you ask me

Everything was much better than what I would expect for a hostel close to the jungle. The room was very clean. The wifi, the A/C, and the hot shower worked really well. They even had some snacks inside the room for the guests and a water dispenser that provided hot and cold water outside the room that was available 24 hours every day. The location was great as well. Less than 5-minute walk to restaurants, the main tour company in the area, and to the jetty where you’ll take the boat to cross over to Taman Negara. The host was very responsive as well.

Nothing! It was a great stay. Would definitely come back if I ever visit Taman Negara again.
