The property itself was incredible. Breakfast included daily. The rooftop pool vibes and proximity to a swimmable beach with more local vibes cannot be beat! Walkable (20mins) further into town for less touristy/more local eats if you know where to look. Staff are so kind and extremely accommodating! I do like the use of whatsapp at the hostel now! Sometimes activities on the schedule did not happen or would randomly happen on a different day than what is on the schedule, harder to plan for things like this sometimes! Also sometimes travellers lacked simple hostel mannerisms that most experienced travellers have, however this is not at the fault of the facility.

- Location is +AAA close to all beaches, restaurants and activities, Oxxo downstairs - The staff at the reception and bar were always super helpful and friendly, shoutout to Irvin for making the best mezcalitas - The pool sets itself apart, feels like an oasis with the mountains on the background and the DJs/music are great (if you’re looking for a quiet place it might not be for you but they respect sleeping hours usually after 11 pm) - Co-working space is very basic but the wifi is great and it’s free unlike other similar hostels! - Rooms are cleaned everyday and they give you fresh towels for the pool for free if you ask, so it honestly felt a bit like a hotel - The place itself feels very new or updated - Lastly, the people I met were great. Nomads from all over the world just looking to connect and locals travelling around, the environment made it easier for to make friends This is the first time I stay at a hostel where I don’t really have anything substantially negative to complain about. I’d recommend it 100% and for sure will be back

I absolutely loved my stay at the Mayan Monkey! It was my first hostel to ever stay at. The location was perfect—convenient and walkable, making it easy to explore the area. The food was amazing, which was such a nice bonus. I also appreciated the access to free activities; it made meeting people effortless and added so much value to my stay. Most importantly, I felt incredibly comfortable, cozy, and secure the entire time.

Only thing I wasn’t too fond of was one of the girls in my bunk room left her belongings on the sink for a whole day and I felt like the shower area gets easily dirty and clogged with water or the water drains slowly. The sanitary level of our bunk mates is out of Mayan Monkey control, however maybe they could come clean our rooms every morning?

The hostel is in an excellent location and offers a cheap breakfast. It was very clean. It’s a party hostel, the music is blasting all day and there is a happy hour every night.

I stayed five nights in the six bedroom mixed dorm and was woken almost every night by people turning on the room light in the early hours of the morning and two nights by someone empty the contents of their stomach in the communal shower.

Privacy curtains, 2 toilets and 2 showers in the dorm, large locker to store backpack, security door (requires FOB to get into the hallway), skylight in each bed, quiet AC settable to comfortable temperature at 24C, clean bed sheets, full breakfast options at very affordable price and fully customizable (e.g. Coffee Drink + Fruit appetizer + Omelet / sandwich / bagel etc). Affordable price for understanding its target market. Swimming pool, bar and restaurant, social events, public bathroom outside dorms, shared kitchen, professional cleaning and maintenance, easy check in and out, 24/7 real person at the desk, super convenient location right by Marina, walkable distance to shopping, restaurant districts, fresh orange scent throughout the facilities. I loved this professionally well executed hostel, I hope it never changes for what they are doing great listed above.

Some noise from the nightclub music at night (Don't get me wrong, I love music though!), sometimes showers ran out of hot water (cold showers were available all the time! There were 2 showers in each dorm, so check the other one if one ran out hot water), some roommates turned on the dorm lights on while we were sleeping at night (that is why I appreciate the skylight each bed with privacy curtain feature since it doesn't disturb others' sleep! It was an absolutely miserable and disturbing moment when some roommates turned on the light for their convenience late at night).

Excellent location. Really interesting activities. Tasty healthy breakfast. The culture promoted friendly interactions between the guests.

For some reason the bartenders lied about having a wine opener. There was none in the private room and they were not willing to open mine. Finally a really friendly staff member convinced them to open it. I also wish there was a small fridge in the private rooms. I think a community fridge is good for the hostile, but not for those who pay for a private room.

Mayan Monkey in Cabo was an absolute blast! The vibe is super social, making it so easy to meet people and have fun every day. The food and drinks from the kitchen and bar were always on point. But the best part? The staff. It's what really makes this place shine. Rodo and Marlon were fantastic, always going out of their way to help, and especially Agustina who went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of throughout my stay. She made everything feel so personal and welcoming, her kindness and attention to detail made me feel like I was at home. The daily activities were a great way to bond with other guests, and everyone there was awesome—feels like I made lifelong friends. I was genuinely sad to leave this place. If you're looking for a fun and social spot in Cabo (even more so if you're solo), this is it! Thank you MM 🐵🇲🇽🌴☀️

While this is a hostel & mostly young adults, we were a large group of senior ladies. We stay 1 night to gather before travel to our rental. From very effective manager to maids & waiters, this was an amazing experience. Clean, perfect marina location, excellent food, this is a 10. Beds are hard, tvs didn't work but we agreed we would definitely book again and stay several days. We walked all around the marina, we felt very safe after dark. This was a wonderful experience.

Amazing location right on the marina and 10 minutes walking to a small local beach. Friendly staff. Very nice pool area, bar, kitchen, and restaurant. Daily activities. Free water. Comfortable beds. Cleaning crew works very hard.

Only 1 of the 2 showers in our room had a door that locked. Very expensive laundry service. Small lockers. Don't expect an early check in. We arrived at 8am knowing we were very early, but they said around 12 they might have a bed ready. At 2:30pm we saw they were checking in other people and were frustrated because we asked multiple times if they would let us know when a room was ready, or if we needed to keep checking back. We didn't complain, but the staff still gave us 2 free drink vouchers for the miscommunication.

Everything. The location is perfect if you wanna stay in the touristic area, and is economic comparing Los Cabos is expensive and moreover high season. If they offer to you breakfast in 5 dollars, please take it. The breakfast is cool enough and in Cabo hardly you will find something cheaper and worthy nearby.

The staff didn’t have so much idea about other places to visit close to Cabo, I’m talking something not turistic. I was asking about some national parks that I found but they didn’t know about it, nonetheless they were kind and helpful.
