We loved our room at Hotel Sofia. It was good sized, had a table and chair, somewhere to place luggage and a hutch with a place to hang your clothes along with several drawers. There was a nice flat screen TV and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very large. The lady who cleaned our room was delightful and did an excellent job. The upstairs terrace was a really great space to sit and relax.

I had two issues. The first was that I had to leave my ID at the front desk in order to be given the air conditioner remote. They will give you the two remotes for the TV, but not the air conditioner. The second issue was that two of the three ladies working upstairs on the roof terrace would bring us the menu and from that point on I had get up and go to the bar to order food, drinks, etc. and then go back for anything else we wanted. They never came to ask if we needed anything else. The one was busy on her phone the whole time, and the other had earphones on and was listening to her music the whole time. This was mainly at night. The third lady that worked the morning shift did a nice job.

Hotel is in a very good location - all the main sights are very walkable. Breakfast on the roof terrace was good, too

We had a room on the ground floor right next to reception. Unfortunately the doors aren’t very soundproof so we heard guests checking out early, staff chatting etc through the night. If the hotel wants to put rooms there then the doors should be more substantial

so our tour company booked my trekking partner and i 2 nights at Hotel Venecia nearby and we both agreed we didn't want to stay there another night. i just need a clean place to stay and i'm good. unfortunately my room at Hotel Venecia had a musty smell, bed was old, no shower curtain, shower had dirt? and for the life of me i couldn't get hot water. you also had to ask the front staff for towels. the staff were very friendly and the wifi was good. so i used the wifi to book at the Hotel Sofia for the next day. wow, what a difference. clean, spacious, bed was amazing, walk in shower with glass door worked awesome, hot water, towels were comfy. they had complimentary fruit for breakfast at their outdoor terrace. i would definitely stay here again if ever in the area again.

i had a great experience at Hotel Sofia, my only complaint would be that their wifi was kind of slow and if you end up on the 1st floor by check in it can be a little noisy with people right outside your room.

The hotel was nice with coffee, fruit and pastry included. It was very central. The staff was wonderful.

We had a bottom floor room, and it was very dark. Also, the bed was not that comfortable, but for the price I really don’t want to complain.

Great location, just blocks to the Zócalo, Museo Amparo, El Parian, and lots of restaurants nearby. Helpful and friendly staff. Laundry service. Nice little restaurant with great Milanesa tortas.

Beds were a little hard. Building can be a little echoey but only a problem if you have noisy neighbors.

Centrally located, AC in the bedroom, WiFi

All the noise from the central lobby can be heard up to the bedrooms. So I was woken up before 7AM by a group of loud guests chatting (or shouting) in the lobby

Location is great. Very close to the main things in the city center. Building is nice, rooms are spacious, bathroom was immense.

Internet could be better, but it is ok.

The room has a good size, bed was comfortable and the bathroom had hot water. The location is great! Just a couple blocks from the main square. The staff was very friendly and we left our luggage before and after check-in/check-out with no issues.

The room was very warm and they only provided an electric fan. We slept with the windows open but it was warmer inside the room than the outdoor temperature. The breakfast included is very small, coffee or tea, a small bread and small plate of fruit, however, they offer more option for very good price.

Breakfast was good, the location is excellent, the facilities are great with a very nice style

The noise isolation is none, and the beds and pillows are quite uncomfortable

Clean, spacious, and friendly, helpful staff. The view from my room was also nice. The service from the little cafe downstairs was excellent. And of course, excellent location.

Wifi was spotty at best. There was a lot of noise coming from the streets so if you're a light sleeper, don't choose a room with a view. The beds were incredibly stiff, so be aware.
