Friendly and helpful front desk. Amazed by the towel art each day from housekeeping! Reasonable price for Tulum, we chose to stay downtown as beach resorts prices were extortionate. Free parking, room was well equipped. There is a breakfast café directly in front of the hotel but otherwise we drove around for food and drinks around town, which was quite convenient. We did not use the rental bikes due to most of the potholes all filled with water, we couldn't tell how deep it was - but most places are within cycling distance.

I read many negative reviews about the poorly paved roads leading to the hotel, I don't think you should judge a hotel based on the roads outside! Most of the roads in Tulum were equally bad or worse!

From the moment we walked in it was a little oasis of calm, the staff were super friendly and helpful. There was fresh coffee available at all times and the pool was lovely. The room was nicely decorated and had plenty of space for all our bags and dive gear! It was in a quiet area close to some nice restaurants and little bars and shops. We wanted a few quiet restful days and that is exactly what we got!

Nothing. I would say Tulum isn’t exactly set up if you haven’t got transport fortunately we rented a car (this isn’t any reflection on the hotel just to let other travellers know!) in fact the hotel even has parking! Faultless!!

Beautiful place, and a spacious room, with a nice little balcony. Very friendly staff, and coffee/water available at the entrance, with a communal seating area. You need to walk a bit to access the centre and main areas for restaurants etc, but that wasn't an issue for us.

The only issues we had are not in the control of the hotel: There was loud music until late on a Friday night, but that seemed to come from a neighbouring flat. And the road access to the hotel isn't in a good state. However, that's only for the very last stretch so it's just a matter of going slowly.

We had a wonderful stay at little Gem. The room was really spacious and clean and we enjoyed having the balcony as well. It is situated quite close to a nice street with restaurants and cafes in the la veleda area of Tulum. It only took us 5-10 minutes to walk there. The staff was so nice and and helpful and the kids were thrilled at the towel animals made up every day by the cleaners. We were a little worried about arriving late by car because others had written about the poor road but it is actually no problem as it is only the very last 5 meters or so that are unpaved with big potholes. We could park right outside the hotel.

Having visited Tulum 20 years ago I was very happy to discover La Veleta … Tulum has become over developed, a party centre and has lost the style I remember so be well .. should you want to explore the area I could not recommend this charming boutique hotel more .. It has 9 rooms, is in a quiet area within 200 yards of some excellent bars and restaurants who are fortunately not all screaming out a disco beat and delightful staff. Breakfast can be taken at a café opposite which has an excellent menu at minimal cost. It’s within 10 minutes drive of the ‘hotel district’ and the beaches, free parking is available and the area is very civilised. Any construction that was mentioned in earlier reviews that may have taken place in the environs would appear to have ended earlier this year - review Dec 2024 I spent a delightful few days here 🤩

All good .. although I did mention they should have pillows that were less firm for those who find firm pillows uncomfortable

It was clean, comfortable with great amenities. they had a microwave at the common area and utensils and tea/coffee. My wife and I love buying fruits and it helped make it easier for us to prepare. the pool was clean and inviting. free rental bike were available. we had our own rental car which we just park outside designated for hotel guests good value for money, we were visiting during shoulder season. staff were ever friendly and helpful and gave suggestions on WhatsApp for breakfast/meals nearby. less than 10 minutes walk to a row of shops but catered for gringos very classy clean. Away from hustle and bustle of centro

Lots of construction in La Veleta now,.so the roads are not paved well and construction going on the time of review. it's probably somewhere you would want to have your own car these are all outside the control of the hotel. .

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The location was great, being close to good restaurants and beautiful beaches. Our room was clean, and the pool and free bikes were a nice touch. The reception staff were exceptional, caring, friendly, and genuinely kind. They provided plenty of helpful tips and suggestions, patiently answering all our questions. Their outstanding hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable, going above and beyond to exceed our expectations. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team. You made our experience truly special! 🫶

We had the perfect stay, the hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. This hotel is super quiet. The free bikes were helpful considering you’re a bit outside the main area and they helped us hire scooters as well for a good price. Highly recommend

La Valletta is an up and coming area. There’s restaurants and bars walking distance but you have to factor in travel time to the beach and centro (bus hotels are also cheaper in this area). A bike, scooter or car is needed to make the most of the area.

The staff at reception deserve 10/10 commendation, Nestol and Ramina (hope I remembered their names correctly) are real gems with there kindness, good English and great recommendations on places to eat and where to visit. They made our visit in Tulum well spent thou short.

Pool is cold. Roads are quite bad around but the free bikes are a bonus. The Last night other guests were playing very loud music at pool which was uncomfortable

Very nice little hotel, very clean and with super friendly and helpful staff that gave great recommendations for excursions, restaurants and places at the beach. The hotel is in walking distance (ca 15mins) to the centre, and you can borrow bicycles to go the centre or the beach. Close by the hotel you find many bars, restaurants and cafés. The area felt safe to walk, also at night.

Nothing to complain about the hotel. Just bring mosquito spray (as everywhere in Tulum) and be prepared for unpaved roads (as there are still many in that area).
