We stayed two nights at Hotel Zlatni Bor in Žabljak. The hotel has clearly seen some years, and there was a faint smell of smoke in the corridor — something that seems fairly common in Montenegro. Our room was okay, nothing particularly memorable, but it served its purpose. Since we spent most of our time outdoors, leaving early in the morning and returning late at night, it was a fine base for exploring the surrounding nature. Breakfast was a highlight — we had the best cappuccino in Montenegro here, thanks to the lovely girl working behind the counter. Dinner was also delicious, with generous portions. Fortunately, the restaurant has separate dining areas for non-smokers, which we appreciated. Overall, a decent place to stay if you’re looking for a simple and convenient base for adventures in the Žabljak-Durmitor area.

One thing we personally struggled with in Montenegro in general is smoking indoors. While it is allowed and part of the local culture, for visitors from countries where it has been banned for many years, second-hand smoke can be unpleasant. This is not specific to the hotel, but rather a cultural difference to be aware of.

- breakfast was amazing - good location, 5 minutes by car from Black Lake, and 5 also about 2 minutes by car to the bigger super markets. (Forgot their names) - good value for the money

- a waiter that is in the evening ripped us off, tried leaving him a generous 9 euro tip, for a 36 euro meal. And he seemed to not understand how much we are leaving him and he took a 19 euro tip. A tip from us: let him give you all the change that he is bringing with him, because that's what he did, and only after he gives you your change back let him have how much you want. - problems with the water pressure at the upper floor.

This is a very nice hotel some kilometers away from Zabljak which is near Durmitor National Park. We were travelling by car, and there is parking space right at the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful. We had a large spacious room, which was very comfortable and clean - as well as the bathroom. Free wifi worked without problems. The restaurant for dinner had very good meals. Breakfast was also very good. We stayed only one night, but could have spent easily more days here.

Nothing to mention actually, it was all good.

Nice big room (the double room was larger than the twin room). Nice walk-in shower with hot water which we appreciated after our kayaking trip. Lovely view of mountains. Great breakfast. Nice evening meal. Helpful staff. Good parking. Separate areas for smoking/non-smoking in restaurant.

A tiny bit of mould in the bathroom, but the bathroom was clean. A bit of noise at night/early morning (dogs barking, building work) but not bad.

- Amazing and rich local breakfast with very good coffee included! - The room was very nice and freshly renovated with a good design. - Comfy beds with real blankets + extra blanket in the wardrobe if you feel cold. - Modern bathroom with a sufficient amount of hooks and shelves. The ventilation in the bathroom was surprisingly good which is rare in Montenegro, hence, there was no humidity in the morning. Hot water was always available. - Great location: Tara Bridge and Durmitor park both in 20 min drive from there. - No scam and extra charges for parking or whatsoever else like in other places in Montenegro where I stayed. All I paid was strictly as on the Booking: room with breakfast + city tax.

Durmitor is amassing location! Mountain peaks and views are stunning. Very clean and new rooms. Very good breakfast and very good restaurant (Zlatni bor) in the basement. Close to the center of Zabljak, and to Black lake, destination for extremely pleasant walk all around the lake (5 minutes by car). Also close to cable car that leads to one one of the peeks - Bobotov kuk, offering stunning view and experience.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff is lovely and prepared to help with advices. We received a lot of useful information from them to help us prepare for our hiking trips. Hotel has a restaurant and it serves great food, don’t skip the opportunity to try some delicious local food. Needless to say breakfast was amazing as well – it was self-service and it offered the variety of food. Next time we are in Žabljak, we will try to book this hotel again.

The room was just so clean and modern, with the windows closed, you heard nothing. You go outside and you see the magnificence of the Durmitor mountains right in front of you! The staff were just so kind and amazing at their communications and help. Breakfast was a feast and the coffee was made perfectly. It was such a joy to come back to our modern clean and quiet apartment after a long hike in the mountains. We wished we had stayed longer!

The location is great. Food for breakfast was great you can't go wrong with breakfast like that. Specious rooms. Everything was clean. The staff was really nice. Would and will probably visit again.

A bit of maintenance is needed on the bathroom sink, but all worked ok. The kitchen is close so you could hear some banging but nothing too much.

Good value for money. Great location to explore the Durmitor National Park. Free Parking. Buffet breakfast with many options to choose from. The hotel has its own restaurant, but it is also located in an area with many options.

There is no elevator and we were located on the top floor, which is a bit uncomfortable when you have heavy luggage.
