Hostel Nextdoor is bang on! Great location in Patan area; quiet but easily accessible to all attractions and dining options. The front desk crew is quiet attentive and fun to talk to. Went on a group walking tour to old town; amazing that such ancient traditions are still lived by people these days. Breakfast options are regular - pancakes, English set, muesli yogurt - and the local lunch/dinner set is delicious; feels homemade. The restaurant in the property is one of the best in Kathmandu with delicious traditional Nepali meals that feels like culinary adventure.

The hostel is pretty sorted out. I was sad to miss out on other group events by the hostel. I was not expecting a travel agent/desk at the hostel, but they have a partner company that is available 24/7 on whatsapp to book cars, flights, or plan trips; they even came to the hostel to discuss options for a city day tour. Good stuff organizing that!

A lovely hostel in a calm and quiet location, away from the busy touristy areas, though not too far (getting a taxi or bike taxi online is really convenient). The place is very neat (and colourful), and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm - the rooms and beds are well designed with curtains and lockers. They have a nice communal kitchen on the rooftop. There is also a wonderful restaurant on the property that serves traditional Nepali food. They have activities such as free walking tours of old Patan (20 min away from the hostel). I did the tour with Sandeep and had a great experience!

As soon as I booked the accommodation online they were already there for me. I am impressed with the friendly, diligent staff who always provide information whenever you ask online. I thus decided to cancel the other accommodation and prolong my stay in Hostel Nextdoor. I am glad I made the decision. As a female solo traveller, they are especially aware of my safety and health. They really care about what experiences you’re looking for and give you more than a few suggestions. I had a good time arts exhibition displaying the works of children with Down syndrome and the other artists with disabilities. I am glad to support local artists and help with non-profit organizations while traveling. I appreciate the sweet company, and timely help, not to mention the safe community, wonderful culture tour, nice roommates to meet, and spacious environment for to relax and many more.

The pipe of public shower is a little bit tricky, sometimes there’s no water supply. But you can use the other shower room, there’s is no big problem.

Booked for one night and extended twice turned into a week! Friendly staffs and a thoughtful vision for connecting with local communities by bringing together travelers from around the world to experience Nepal through a local lens. The space fosters diversity, open conversations, and a true sense of connection through localized events and activities. I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, varied, nourishing, and prepared with care. The walking tour took us beyond the usual attractions and into the heart of the valley. It’s so much more than just a place to sleep, thank you team!

The hostel was very clean, and cleaners did really good work every day to maintain the cleanliness. Location was good, but on a quiet road, not much noise outside.. Kathmandu's air pollution is catastrofic, nothing can help that, so the air was overall polluted. Staff was really nice. I stayed in a female dorm, a spacious cubicle with curtains, a big locker and a good mattress.

Restaurant wasn't nothing special. All vegetarian dishes was served without much vegetables, no nutrition values thought at all. Dishes have fancy names, and the Nepali districts were mentioned as origins, but it doesn't help, if the dishes don't keep your hunger at bay.

Fantastic hostel! The best one I have stayed at during my 3-month trip. Staff are incredibly friendly and funny. I left some things in my room and they immediately contacted me about it. Conveniently located if you want to explore Patan, for example on one of their many free walking tours. The street is very quiet at night. The restaurant next door serves super tasty authentic dishes from different regions of Nepal and a different free breakfast each day.

There are not really any interesting shops, cafés or bars nearby.

They really have put a lot of effort and thought into making it a special experience that shows the possibilities of what fun hostels can be I ended up cooking for the whole hostel when asked to cook my favourite dishes with help, they bought all the ingredients Everyone that visits seems relaxed and always up for chatting, or plan group hikes.

The hostel has become like a second home to me. It has a very special vibe that no other place in Kathmandu has. The staff are awesome people, always there to help and to make your day better. The dorms are great and really comfortable. It has a great rooftop and coworking space too. The best is that many locals show up often to chill at the hostel, and this makes it a great place to know Nepal in a really different, awesome and authentic way. I leave great friends here. Lovely people! A nice community space to hang out and meet people. Here you will meet your second family! Mother Emi will take care of you. Daddy Sulav helps you with your advantageous plans, especially with hiking he knows the best places! And brother Sandip will show your the around the neighborhood. And of course Fongghy, the housecat, is always there sleeping at the couch.

The facilities are nice and well kept. The AC is great and hard to find elsewhere in Kathmandu. There is a little cafe on the premise which is a convenient and a nice place to grab lunch or dinner and the included breakfast was always excellent. The staff are great, friendly, helpful and are very intentional about creating a comfortable and homie environment at the hostel. They regularly host activities on the premises and around Kathmandu that can be a great way to explore the city or get to know other people if you are looking for something to do.
