Villa Vennendal is a serene and lovely retreat—with charming grounds and peaceful surroundings. I especially appreciated the opportunity to enjoy breakfast near the garden, a moment of quiet nature among birds and soft sunlight. Overall, it’s a beautiful place worth visiting, especially if you're seeking calm.

However, I do feel that some staff communication could be more thoughtfully attuned, especially considering that many guests are older. It would be helpful if (younger) staff were gently trained to listen to the specific needs of each guest, not with the assumption that age implies incapacity, or that simplicity is always the best medicine, even when what’s really needed is specificity.

Amenities were excellent. We had a very nice weekend with all comforts you could think of. It's located in a beautiful surrounding, with a good view of nature. The stay felt calm and relaxing. Overall, neglecting a few minor complaints, the experience was extremely enjoyable and I would absolutely come back to the same place.

The rooms themself are not super special, and unfortunately the shower was not well separated from the bathroom, so after a shower the entire bathroom is wet.

The swimming pool! I don't know why but I was the only one there so I felt like a mermaid queen 😄 The water pressure in the shower was also amazing! Best shower that I've had in the Netherlands in the last 6 years!

The ashtray on my balcony was used and the table on the balcony was a bit dirty because of it. I also missed hair conditioner. For a 4 stall hotel would have been nice to have more toiletries. Another point that is mentioned by many: sound isolation. I heard everything what was discussed in the hall by others even with a closed door (luckily I always travel with earplugs). Otherwise I enjoyed my stay and these little things are a good points for improvement.

The room was comfortable but outdated, there was a fan but an airco would have been much better (but probably not allowed?). The breakfast was good, the table reserved for our group 11 was very much appreciated. The location was relaxing, in an old villa and in a very green environment

The room style is outdated, too little power outlets near bed, temperature in the room, how you turn on the light for the bathroom

All in all a lovely hotel with a nice hunting lodge vibe… staff are friendly and helpful, food was all very nice (with a small negative mention for the bitterness of the antiboise and tennis ball consistency of the poorly suited potato, cauliflower, cheese ball served with the sea bass; location is lovely with nice walks and a beautiful golf course nearby; rooms were clean and comfortable and even had BBC 1 and 2; Really nice find actually and will definitely go back. Honourable mention to the coach party of 20 or so English pensioners, a few of whom I shared a few glasses of wine with and some enjoyable tales about both England and The Netherlands

We stayed in one of the small cottage style rooms and it was very cosy and nice. The hotel is older but has charm and history. It leans into it's kitchy-ness and has some great amenities including a pool and sauna. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we really had a great weekend. The hotel is truly in the forest with lots of walking and biking trails at the door.

Everything suited our needs and met our expectations.

The room was perfectly clean. A little dated with some warn spots, but clean and nice! Breakfast was very well despite that there were a lot of people attending. Refills came abundant so everyone could have a perfect breakfast with enough to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I can't think of anything that i did not like.

Beautiful location, tasty breakfast, cozy room, great pool and relaxing sauna.

We mentioned we're celebrating a special occasion and hoped for a small romantic gesture from the staff, like romantically folded towels or something, but zero attention was payed to this.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel Vennendal! The grounds are stunning, the facilities top-notch, and our renovated lodge was warm and inviting. Waking up surrounded by nature was the highlight of my stay. I can’t wait to bring my family back!

Breakfast is delicious. We made used of the swimming pool and sauna after our 25km hike. Friendly and helpful staff. Stunning location and nature is on your doorstep. Beautiful room.

Our mattresses were a bit too soft, but everything else were fine.
