The breakfast was excellent. The view was wonderful. We felt comfortable and safe throughout our stay.

I was a little surprised when the person behind the reception desk answered the question of whether we could store our bags for a few hours prior to our check-in with "Well, maybe, if you can find space in that room across the hall." He just motioned to the storage closet. I am happy to serve myself in all sorts of circumstances, and Fagernes is an extremely safe-feeling place, so I'm actually quite okay with the policy, but the level of enthusiasm and serve-the-customer spirit was low enough to surprise me. My observation might simply be chalked up to a difference in cultures, as I'm American.

We had a nice-sized room with a balcony overlooking the lake. It was wonderful. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom was decent sized also. When we checked in, they had two kinds of cake slices for guests at the desk. It was tasty! Later that evening as we walked by, they had a different kind of cake that was equally good. We had dinner at their restaurant and, while the menu was fairly limited, we both enjoyed our meals. The breakfast buffet the next morning, which was included in the room rate, was excellent with many choices.

Everything was good.

The stay at this property exceeded our expectations…Lovely hotel on a beautiful lake, with beautiful lawns and seating places, right in the center of the town…Very pleasant staff…coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine at the reception…beautiful lounge area…a lovely library…huge buffet spread at the breakfast…the chef (Otavyan, hope I got it correct :) ) even arranged for us cooked vegetables and potatoes for breakfast, as we are pure vegetarians…

The location was excellent, the room was jaded but clean, and the food in the restaurant was very good. Our restaurant waiter was friendly and helpful.

The receptionist on arrival was not very welcoming, and tea and coffee facilities in the room would have been good. Our room and the hotel exterior would benefit from some refurbishment.

Centrally located but pretry quiet. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Plus free swimming pool.

Only minor things: kettle in the room would be nice and double bed was too soft but more importantly every little movement would make the person on the other side of the bed literally jumping.

The location is perfect. The lake, the view, the village, thd island and the atmosphere are alk outstanding. Friendly and helpfull staff. True peace and relaxation.

The foir when arriving 35 min before closing time. Most was gone.

Breakfast was excellent. The room we had overlooked the water on the fjord and was beautiful and scenic in the afternoons and mornings.

Dinner menu is somewhat limited and the restaurant in the evening didn't seem to have enough staff to wait on or check back on the diners.

BREAKFAST ,LOADS TO CHOSE FROM BUT THE COOKED FOOD WAS NOT VERY HOT AND WENT COLD VERT QUICKLY,WAS ABLE TO HAVE OUR EVENING DINNER THERE FROM THE ALA/ CART MENU BUT NOT ALOT TO CHOSE FROM. LOCATION , WAS GREAT WITH A LAKE NEAR BY AND RIVER

THE HAIR DRYER IN THE BATHROOM WAS BROKEN TO THE POINT YOU MAY GET AN ELECTRIC SHOCK AS THE CASING WAS MISSING /BROKEN, SO INFORMED THE RECEPTION THE NEXT MORNING WHEN WE FOUND THE PROBLEM

It was a nice hotel, we were surprised to find out there was a swimming pool and sauna in free access. Superb view from the terrace of the hotel on the lac. Last but not least it was among the cheapest hotel we stayed in. Breakfast perfect. Dinner a bit simple but did the job.

The location was great for our visit to the area. We were just steps away from a small island. We attended a musical event on the island of the evenings we were there- nice surprise! The breakfast buffet was delicious!
