Very kind and friendly staff. They made sure that I was able to get dinner at the restaurant before it closed, which I was most grateful for. This hotel was an oasis after hiking all day! Beautiful historic hotel and fantastic location!

Location suited us as we needed a stop on our travels from Flam to Kristiansand. The location and view of the lake were great. Restaurant dinner and breakfast were good. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. For us it was the fact they had a guest laundry that was best. It was the only hotel on our 6 week trip that had one. Not sure what Europeans do for clean clothes as we stayed at most places only 1 or 2 nights so not long enough to use the very expensive hotel laundry services. Laundromats seem to be few and far between.

Rooms were a bit cold - for us. The curtains didn't quite block out enough light at night when the sun was still up.

Great location with a beautiful little private beach and pristeen waters. Breakfast spread was good. A la Carte lunch very nice. Clean comfortable rooms.

Dinner options are limited and somewhat confusing. There's an a la carte option at the bar but it consists only of snacks, no real dinner options. There is a set menu option but it is fully set and only starts at 7pm (not ideal with small kids) and it's overly formal.

Beautiful historic building, but the room very basic and old for the price.

I got a smoking room that have old room lingering. Without even asking me or confirming it first. We took late breakfast time 9.30. Where most of the food almost gone, table not clean from dirty plates n mugs. Feel rush to finish our breakfast.

Service is poor. We have in our family 1 vegan and 1 vegetarian. I emailed about this before we arrived, I called them before we arrived and also at arrival we asked what they could do for breakfast. The result was none and the staff has also no intention at all to arrange anything. They just repeat what they have for food and do nothing. Very disappointing.
