Good, competent friendly staff. Very clean, hotel was in a good location to the Puente de Amistad. The rooftop bar was a welcome advantage, with great ambiance. Breakfast was well appointed and had a good variiety.

The gym was very rudimentary and almost nonexistent. There was a smoking area at the end of the hall, (on the 2nd floor), however, the smoke still permeated most of the entire floor, which was not enjoyable. The rooftop pool area / patio / bar was enjoyable, however, the service was sporadic and slow. On some occasions we were served promptly and very efficiently, (2 very competent female servers) however, on other occasions we were ignored and even advised (by a male server) to go into the actual bar and order ourselves. When we did this, we noticed most staff standing around playing on their phones....the bar was not busy, either inside the air conditioned room or outside on the pool patio. We were confused on what the exact policy was...either full service or self-serve ??

Had a fantastic stay at Howard Johnson. Coming in I didn’t know what to expect but it felt like a high class hotel. Room was superb, massive bed good shower and toilet. The breakfast was sublime with a massive amount of choices. With transfers from the airport the hotel got us in contact with some drivers we used a guy named Jorge who was superb and helped us get over the border. It cost about 40usd each way, there’s a bit of admin to get between the borders and now that Brazil are bringing in visas I assume it might get a bit trickier. It a good location, neighbourhood is really good with some nice restaurants and pubs around. If you aren’t feeling going out the hotel has a great restaurant and pool up the top level. Some good food and drinks looking over the city. Great stay and if I ever got the chance I would come back again. Thank you!

Probably one of the best hotel in Ciudad del Este. The room was very clean, and the location is in the middle of the commercial area of the city. Unfortunately on Sunday everything is closed.

This is more a suggestion than a complaint, but we asked the pool bar for a coffee with milk, and our request was denied. The reason was ridiculous, according to our standards. It was... Sunday, so they don't have milk on Sundays! It would be so easy to go right in front of the hotel and buy a pack of milk for the customer satisfaction. But, in compensation, the dinner at the same restaurant was really great and tasty, and the service was exceptional.

Room was large and comfortable, bathroom was also spacious with a good shower. Breakfast was varied with hot and cold food and plenty of fruit. Reception let us leave our bags for a few hours after we checked out which was really useful.

Excellent value for money. Very clean. Everyone very helpful, friendly and polite. Really exceptional service. The breakfast buffet is good. The rooftop terrace serves very good food, has a nice view, a pool and all that at very affordable prices. This is an absolute recommendation.

A clean and friendly place to stay in the city centre. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The restaurant on the rooftop terrace had good food and an amazing view over the city. You can even see the Itaipu dam from up there.
