What I like most are the staff, most specifically Kayla (receptionist). They are welcoming, warm and they greeted us everytime they saw us. They also made sure our needs were attended every single time. They were prompt, concise, & fast even when we requested it in the middle of the night. I also liked the breakfast buffet. Although, the actual restaurant was currently under renovation, the food — taste, variety, & options made up for it. I felt safe staying at Watergate Hotel. The door to our room is secured and there was a safe inside where we were able to store our valuables.

I was expecting the beds to be comfortable but the mattresses were so firm & hard, it took us days to adjust and had good sleep.

We had a poolside room service was great and room was clean and serviced everyday and exceeded my expectations the only thing that I don't like is that you have to go through the eating area to access the rooms and table room is very limited and every one is looking at you eating while using the pool kind of need a half wall going around the hole pool so it separates the eating area from people swimming I would not recommend a room on the bottom floor near the pool second floor or back of the hotel back rooms water was hot would stay again it nice place clean staff were very help full easy check in check out house keeping were excellent

Room was very nice and the staff was great. Food at the lime n zest was great grilled Norwegian salmon was excellent just order it half cooked the Philippines normal y will cook everything to death. Try a massage from fran at the spa just upstairs from the hotel. In room is available also.

We went to the pool at 815 am and they tried to kick us out and said it opens at 9am until I showed them the guest book in the room that said the pool opens at 7am. I'm used to stuff like that in general here in the Philippines and am kind of getting used to it.

Excellent staff, really polite and helpful. Rooms were cool enough. Swimming pool was very nice. The hotel is an excellent venue for a wedding. Without question the best hotel in Butuan City. The attached restaurant catered my wedding and did a great job. They have quite an extensive menu for casual dining. ATM and shop very close by + coffee shop and cake shop. Security staff were also excellent (diligent). The hotel is less than 10 minutes by taxi from either Robinson's mall or SM Mall.

A very minor thing...I would prefer boiling water for brewing my tea at breakfast rather than the instant water heater, which seemed not so good for brewing tea. A little noisy on the poolside rooms (kids/weddings/functions/ karaoke) - which can start early at 0700 and the functions can go on late.

Breathtaking hotel, literally absolutely amazing! The hotel decor is stunning, the pool view is magnificent and overall a lovely vibe to the hotel. Also I cannot forget how lovely and friendly the staff are, God bless them☺️

Overall I noticed there's a lack of vegetarian options but this isn't targeted at the hotel as I have noticed that across the Philippines they just love their meat so much lol. Although if they really improved on this aspect, then the hotel is unstoppable! 😃

For the City Butuan City this a top notch hotel because there is no chain hotels here so this is very nice and new property and I have stayed here in this area before in other hotels and a resort hotel that was not any good the rooms were subpar and not worth the money this hotel is located in a great spot near the SM Mall and a older mall is very close by but it has all your needs better money exchange rates that I noticed Grassano mall

I thought this hotel went well beyond my expectations. And was truly OUTSTANDING!!! At first because of its location, I thought I was at the wrong hotel. But when I came up to the door, I knew I was at the right place. The staff was ALWAYS so friendly and helpful. The room was ALWAYS cleaned every day. And there are a few places within a one-minute walk that will be safe if you want additional food, snacks, hygiene products. And they can even get you a cab to the local Robison's Mall which is about a 10-minute drive because of heavy traffic. And that mall has everything you need, including a grocery store, and on the side entrance a fleet of cabs can easily take you back to the hotel.

The bed itself is just a little on the firm side. Could have been just a tad bit softer.

Excellent staff. WiFi very good. Clean and spacious enough rooms. Decent buffet breakfast. All told, whilst not exactly cheap, recommended.

Nothing really. Sink a little slow to drain and bedside socket was worn(my phone charger kept falling out!). They do ask for a 2000PHP deposit on arrival which is refunded assuming no damage to the room.

Breakfast was good and hearty. The Filipino dishes were yummy, They had Filipino sausages which were very good. Egg station for omelets were excellent. It was a buffet and had a salad bar. This was an excellent value.

While the rooms were very clean and had all the trappings of a mid to high end hotel, One of my rooms had an intense smell of insecticide. I do understand the need for insecticide since I did not see any active bugs. But it would have been nice if they had aired the room out prior to giving us the room.

The place & the room is clean & cozy , the staff in the front desk are amazingly courteous, kind & very accommodating Special thanks to LeeAnne who assisted us when we first came so w/Ken & the rest of the reception staff! Thanks also to Alger at the dining who pays attention to our requests during breakfast! Good food choices from main dishes to desserts & their chocolate drink ( tableya in Baterol) was superb ! Housekeeping staff are also kind & well mannered To sum it all everything is excellent I luv Watergate Boutique hotel I considered it as my “Home away from Home” I will be definitely coming back on my next visit to Butuan City ! To the Management & staff thank you for keeping the place in good shape & very comfortable for us transient travellers & visitors! Again I luv the hotel & will recommend the place to my friends & family in their future travels !
