Hotel is located on a beatiful private beach with coral reef 50m from the hotel. All houses are front beach and equipped with all you could expect in such a place. Staff is extremely nice, professional and helpful. You can arrange privatw tours at decent price.

Amazing location with such wonderful staff. You are so close to nature here and it’s a privilege to experience this. The monkeys are so funny, and there’s so much wildlife amongst the accommodation. We felt taken care of from start to finish, from the moment we got on the speed boat to the island to being dropped right at Coron for our follow on trip. The food on the island is incredible, and all inclusive is such a wonderful way to have a holiday. You don’t have to organise or think about anything, you just show up on time and get delicious, fresh, healthy wonderful authetic Filipino food (with a twist). Cannot say enough good things about the food! The resort is idyllic, and the Bahay Kubo style beach huts are so beautifully constructed. They new bathrooms are lovely, and you don’t mind the cold water as it’s very refreshing. I would say the accommodation is basic, but you are on an island so people should try manage their expectations better. Also, please bear in mind that these resorts have been closed for al of covid. They are trying their best to get back to full working capacity, with the same global issues we are all facing. People should be a little more considerate of that too. The resort is run fantastically and offer a truly unique experience. The island is out in the middle of nowhere, but you can get a boat trip to island hop around Coron, which was fantastic. I also like how they grouped us with another family which made the day even more enjoyable, cheaper and more sustainable (full boats better than empty boats). The focus on sustainability and eco awareness in this resort truly is exceptional and we felt like we were in a place that really cares about their local environment. They employ local people and use only local food. Lastly the bar is one of the nicest spots I’ve ever been, beautiful for sunsets! The bar staff are also brilliant

As it’s a dive resort, the activities are pretty centred around diving obviously. We tried to book a massage two days in a row but it wasn’t available, and other than kayaking and snorkelling there isn’t much else to do that’s not a whole day drip / off the island. This was fine for us but just bear it in mind if you’re looking for additional activities. Something like yoga would be a very nice addition to activities, or maybe some nature walks.

This was hands down the most beautiful and amazing location I have stayed at. Sangat island is a divine location. We got lucky to be there in the low season and for a while had the island entirely to ourselves while still having great sunny clear weather. Quite a unique and amazing experience. I can’t express how relaxed and relieved I felt the 2 and a half days I spent at the island. The water is amazing, you can snorkel, dive, swim, kayak. I played basketball with the staff which was quite fun. Everyone that worked there was super cool, chill and friendly. Special shout out to Esther who did a great job taking care of us, and who became a friend. I also want to give a special shout out to Tom the diving instructor. It was one of my favourite experiences to go Scuba diving. We were slightly reticent at first but it was great to leave the comfort zone and what a blessing. This is the best resort you can go to for Scuba diving. On our first dive we had the opportunity to go to a WWII destroyer wreck. I will remember this first dive for the rest of my life and will probably do many more because of it. Tom was an excellent instructor that made me feel at ease while still pushing me to do better. I also consider him a friend after that. Highly recommend. Please do the diving if you visit Sangat, it would be a real waste not to (there are several more cool wrecks to dive).

The only downside the hotel has is that the bungalows are a little primitive. This is fine if you are ok with the rustic nature of it. I can only speak for the bungalow we were in, but the others are probably similar. The bathroom was quite lacking (in size and the shower was not great). There were some insects roaming all over the place. Like I said, this is fine, it is an isolated island after all. Simply is not high end luxury. With some more investment this island resort would jump to the next level because the location essentially cannot be beaten.

Review Wow… What a relaxing place to stay!! The staff is delightful, especially the head of Guest Relations, her name is JENNIFER. I have never met a more positive person than her. She remembers guests names and constantly wears a genuine smile on her face, making certain that every guest has a pleasant stay. She sets the tone for the entire staff. She is really the glue that holds the entire resort together. And CHEF RAFAEL is amazing. I enjoyed every single bite of my meals. He takes his craft seriously, and you will not be disappointed. TOM, who manages the Dive Shop is very professional and well informed, helping in every way possible. It is so nice to take a 15 minute boat ride out to a historic wreck, then enjoy the dive, and then come back to the resort to relax until your next dive. The raised cabins are comfortable, and every morning you wake up to paradise :-) I just can’t recommend this place enough!!

Loved this resort; beautiful and tranquil. the huts are simple, but in keeping with the environmental ethos of the resort. The beachside huts are just a few metres from the ocean so you can drift off to sleep with the sound of the waves lapping on the sand. The food is simple but mostly delicious. Since we don't eat meat the staff went out of their way to ensure we still had plenty of options. There are three scuba dives organised most days so plenty of options whatever your degree of experience. One of the best experiences of our month long trip was our afternoon kayaking round the island to the mangroves and thermal spring; there is some lovely coral on the way, great for snorkeling (the coral directly in front of the resort is a bit washed out and rather sad looking) and once at the spring we had it entirely to ourselves and spent hours bathing in the hot water surrounded by nature. We took so long - plus the wind had picked up a bit - that the hotel sent out a boat to check we were ok and brought us back. If this resort is within your budget and you are looking for somewhere tranquil, away from the crowds, then look no further.

Nothing, though being so isolated the evenings are quiet (which suited us) and of course you have fewer options, such as for eating or doing a tour. When we asked at reception about tours we were told they had three but only one of them was operating, so a choice of one then, but no complaints, we had a good day visiting coron island (which is about an hour away on the boat).

I had a fantastic time in Sangat, would recommend it to anyone without hesitation, and hope to be back in the not too distant future. The wrecks were epic, the food was really nice (unexpectedly so, even!), and the location is amazing, with the sound of waves breaking a couple of meters from my bed something that I already miss. That said, to me, Dive Center and Resort staff steal the show: pretty much everyone was smiling and friendly and went out of their way to help, with impeccable organization thrown in on top (which, I guess, makes the return to the "real world" outside Sangat even harder). So, overall, I'd argue the resort is a great value proposition for those hunting for a bargain, and I would like to thank everyone again for being so amazing ;-)

So, there's one thing that is currently the "odd man out": internet connectivity. My hut had no coverage (and most of the time cellular connectivity was too weak to be usable), and even the places that did have a stronger WiFi signal offered patchy performance (facetime unusable beyond audio, and frequently disconnecting; on multiple devices I tried). So my request would be for this to be fixed, because I would really like to come work remotely from Sangat for a month or two, which, at present, is simply not viable.. ;-)

This place is absolutely wonderful. The location, the food and the staff are all excellent. The rooms are located on a private beach and all of them are great. The dive shop and diving are also amazing. They really go out of their way to make you comfortable and happy. The hostess “Jennifer” is so sweet and welcoming. She’s always checking on all the guests to see if there is anything they need. They really do a great job here, including cooking special meals for any dietary requirements. I didn’t want to leave, as this was the best part of my vacation.

Absolutely outstanding experience! Communication was top-notch. I booked through Booking.com, and they responded promptly to all my questions. The transfer services were impeccable; our journey included a taxi and boat trip. Arriving at the little white, protected beach on their private island felt like stepping into a Bond movie. The food was exceptional—always plentiful, fresh, and seasonal, with a variety of local specialties. While the accommodation is basic, it is very comfortable, and I slept brilliantly. The dive shop was extremely convenient, offering high-quality rental equipment and numerous wreck dive options. This destination is perfect for both relaxation and adventure seekers. Highly recommended!

I would recommend bringing mosquito repellent if you visit during the wet season.

I hesitate to even write this review fearing that too many people will discover this slice of paradise. However, they do such a good job here that they deserve the positive review. Do not come here with the expectation of absolute luxury, but absolute immersion in nature with just enough luxury given the limited infrastructure. A true eco-resort experience on the higher end of the scale. Come here for the amazing diving (Very professional and well run PADI dive shop with gear in good condition), snorkeling, kayaking, or just relaxing in a hammock. Quiet and peaceful place, not a party. I can't say enough about the genuine and hard working staff. You will leave knowing their names. I'll be back.

Be prepared for no air conditioning. Not an issue for most people during the months of November to March, but the hot wet season of April through October you definitely need to be ok with this. I understand that air conditioning is available in some rooms, and they may be adding more as they increase their solar energy capacity, so check with the resort if this is a concern.
