This hotel is stylish converted from a Convent and beautifully designed with a real sense of history. The dinner and breakfast were wonderful and great value for money. The staff were very helpful. We stayed here last year and returned as we enjoyed it so much. We were upgraded to a junior suite was was spacious.

Sadly, a few small touches let the stay down for a hotel of this quality. The bathroom was tired, the shower head would not stay in position and had to be hand held and the tap/ shower adapter head came off in my hand and the grout had mould in places.

Breakfast was not good exept eggs and bacon. Lunches were excellent with salads, codfish and meat of good quality. Gardens and surroundig area of the hotel charming and relaxing. Staff very nice and helpful.

Breakafast could be much better, regarding quality of bread and croissants, cheese, juices and coffee/milk machine.

The location was so tranquil and the hotel immaculately clean .

Seeing as this is a destination hotel, o wasn’t a fan of having the local kids playing football in the pool. This should only be allowed when visitors are not sitting out by the pool. Also, we booked the Spa to only be told just before use that the facilities were not available . That was disappointing.

It was a new experience for us - stay in a monastery, whose walls and structure is from the old times, but the furnishing is modern. We liked it! The restaurant is good, the specially - bacalhau à lagareiro, we recommend.

The pillow and mattress could be better, the temperature inside the room in the night was not that comfortable (in November it was cold).

Interesting property in an old convent, but very tastefully modernised. Everything worked as it should and the breakfast was excellent. There is also a very good barbecue restaurant opposite, which is highly recommended.

The beds are to hard (I guess the mattress is too hard to sleep on and one extra pillow would be nice) The outdoor bathroom is dark, the light turns off bbb

our room location was a bit drab on other side of property looking out at apartments behind. Didn't make sitting out on the room patio appealing.

The physical building itself was beautiful. Great setting. Decadent breakfast. Friendly staff. Room upgrade was much appreciated!

Only thing that was unpleasant was that our room faced the courtyard, and there was a very bright light outside in the courtyard that shined directly into the room.

Character hotel, I thought I was in a Monastery 😃 I was also able to sit outside my room working or having an early morning coffee

8am breakfast start was just too late for a busy day

We appreciated the friendly and efficient staff.The location of this hotel,within easy walking distance of the centre of town, is perfect.The breakfasts are exceptional.Plenty of variety and fresh produce.

We were surprised to find that there was hot water in the rooms only for a short time, morning and evening. We also felt that we should have been told,when we made the booking,that the award winning restaurant would not be open during our stay.This was particularly unfortunate,since the reputation of the restaurant was one of the deciding factors for us in choosing the hotel.
