The pictures of the Pousada do not make it justice. They really should change them to better ones. The room was fine, although I would change -actually I did change - some of the furniture around. The staff was exceptional, and the breakfast - which I always have in my room - was superb.

The Restaurant had fine food, but it needed a little bit more condiments. The flavors did not quite come through. The Restaurant Prices were absurd and very high for the taste of the food. Other than this, just a recommendation: if you have the furniture and the space, organize it well, it will improve a room so much more.

This was a fabulous place to stay. Friends who have walked the Camino recommended staying in Valenca instead of Tui and they were right. The pousada was inside a fortress overlooking the Minho River and our room had a gorgeous view. Very nice communal areas downstairs, a lovely patio right on the edge of the fortress walls, and a quaint but modernly appointed room. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. In the morning we got up early for the luggage service, as Portugal is one hour behind Spain. Sun was rising over the fortress walls so we had a beautiful view while the concierge hustled to make us coffee and croissants since we couldn’t stay for the general breakfast.

Biggest plus is the location inside the ancient fortress. Breakfast buffet was very good, the terrace and garden with the views are another value-add. Quiet street with hardly any traffic and all attractions of the town can be reached on foot.

We were charged € 7,50 for the storing of an ebike overnight, in a store-room which was not a garage but a workshop. This is a total rip-off, and we were traveling with 16 ebikes in total, so bike storage was proportionally more expensive than a room. This policy needs to be done away with and all bikers should be aware of this! The hotel needs a soft refurb overall and the rooms in particular, in one of the rooms the toilet drainage didn't work.

We had one of the best rooms, upstairs with a large balcony overlooking the river and Tui. Large room with a wall of windows, excellent views. Very comfortable. Very good breakfast, very attentive staff. Great to be inside the castle walls at night when everyone else has gone. Driving inside the castle to the hotel was fun, too.

The location was beautiful, and there was more than enough cafés, shops restaurants to choose from. Very enjoyable. The breakfast had a nice variety to choose from

Great location. Spacious room. Clean. Tremendous breakfast. Spectacular views from the dining and common areas. Very comfortable bed.

Bathroom was poorly laid out. Toilet behind the door. Shower fitting leaked and sprayed water everywhere. Not what we've come to expect from Pousada hotels.

An absolutely world class hotel in a world class historic location with a world class view and world class service!

I prefer a double bed rather than 2 single beds, but the bed itself was very comfortable.

The location was perfect. The trail to the Camino Portuguese was right outside the door!

The front door was locked and there was no receptionist until 7:30 am. We wanted to start the trail by 6:30 am but could not get out of the building.

A brilliant location with magnificent views from our balcony. The service was first class. Dinner and breakfast were both very good.
