Our main goal was to enjoy the SPA facilities, which fully met our expectations. Unlike last year, however, we no longer had unlimited access to warm towels and had to settle for a single set provided daily at the reception. The warm and welcoming staff, along with the beautiful and tranquil surroundings, make Balvanyos Resort an ideal place to retreat for a few days and rediscover your balance. At the high-quality Forest restaurant, I enjoyed excellent breakfasts and refined dinners. The waiters were attentive and well-trained, always offering recommendations and suggestions that practically compelled you to leave a tip. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Gastrolab. Despite the higher prices, the menu was disappointingly limited, and the waiter who served us provided no assistance whatsoever. We ordered a “Secui platter” and received a plate (which resembled a small shelving unit) with three pieces of meat and a spring onion. I would have appreciated it if the waiter had suggested a salad, a side dish, or at the very least a slice of homemade bread.

I was also unpleasantly surprised to discover that the rooms were not equipped with air conditioning, and the fan coil unit wasn’t working in cooling mode. Unfortunately, due to the behavior of certain tourists, there were days when the atmosphere at the SPA resembled that of a public swimming pool. On several occasions, children entered the adults-only area, individuals were seen vaping or using heat-not-burn tobacco products, some people were doing live streams with their phones, which can be extremely awkward when you're wearing a swimsuit and some female guests gave the impression of being there with intentions that were not aligned with the spirit of wellness and relaxation the facility aims to provide.

Rooms and facilities were clean, the location is superb, breakfast food was great. This really is a great location if you want to relax.

Finding a sunbed is almost impossible if you're not there as soon as the spa opens up. Everyone seems to be doing the classic "towel reservation". In my opinion you shouldn't be allowed to leave the facility and leave your towel there so you can keep a sunbed all day. During our stay, most of the time there would only be a couple of people using the pools but every sunbed would be occupied with a towel on it. We told the staff about this but they just shrugged.

Everytime it was very pleasent to stay at Balvanyos. The rooms are very nice, also the view from it. The breakfast is excellent, various and delicious. You must eat at the Gastrolab restaurant!!

The staff is not very nice all the time. What I don't like at all is that they don't speak romanian, they speak in their language (hungarian), sometimes also with clients. It is not very pleasant to sit at the reception, and they talk to each other in Hungarian. I know that the language is spoken in that area, but we are in Romania!

The location, right in the middle of the woods is pretty much what we were looking for, the quietness, the raw nature were impressive. We really enjoyed it! As a parent, you definitely love the spa zone, where the kids can enjoy, make friends and even cry when we had to leave the pool.

The staff is the big minus of this resort! We are not hard to impress persons, but when it comes to a 4 stars hotel and 200 euros/night room, we had some expectations and some of the waiters and even the receptionists are maximum 1 star rating. We stayed 3 nights and one of us found HAIR in food for 3 nights in a row, which makes us the unlucky ones or maybe some people from kitchen, had to be wearing protection. The f&b manager (I hope she is not) when we complained about it, she deliberately smiled and wanted to bring us some desert and after we refused it, she automatically brings the bill and wanted us to leave! We didn’t wanted to pay for the food, but in the end we payed for the hairy dish! GROSS! We will never come back!

Perfect place for a nice short break. Everything was excellent: SPA, restaurants, room. We stayed in Villa Panorama 2 with amazing view with sunrise. Definitely will come back here again and recommend to visit.

Nothing, the only thing which we didnt like was the fact that many guests book in the morning places in SPA and then leave to come back later. So, as of 9.00 almost not possible to take a place along windows, just only around the pool if you will be lucky. But for us it was not very important and didnt spoil the whole impression from the place.

Location is superb and the spa is really nice (so many things to do, from the many pools to the saunas, etc.)! Breakfast is varied and tasty, though I have had better. Rooms are spacious and warm with good soundproofing.

Spa can get crowded at times. A lot of people leave their stuff on the sun-beds and leave the area entirely (and come to think about it, I'd say there are not enough sun-beds for everybody). We couldn't easily change our bathrobes during our 3 day stay (2 nights) even though they got quite wet. I have to stress the "easily" part because it was possible if speaking at the reception - we never did since we learned that on the second day and figured that we'd be ready to leave by the time they come back with new bathrobes. However, this is annoying because you get 2 fresh ones if you sleep in one of the villas (one in the morning and one in the afternoon, assuming you break for lunch at one point)

perfect location to recharge your batteries, quiet, safe and excellent views. The property is modern, clean and staff is welcoming.

a very important aspect in any holiday is food-and here, allow me to say the food is close to terrible. I think that being the only availability to eat, you cannot afford the luxury to serve tasteless meals. I was expecting food to be pricey but honestly I didn’t expect it to be so bad. please take this as constructive criticism:)

Spa, view, bear encounter, fresh air.

The "no children at the spa between 19:00 and 21:00" is fake marketing. Was counting on that for some peace in the evening but its just a marketing scheme because they don't really apply it.

Location and sourundings, smoth acces by car to sf Ana lake, SPA was great, clean areas.

Small capacity to accomodate large number of guests at breackfast. Small number of places around the pools. Poor qulity of food at Forest restaurant.

I liked the sight, the pools and spa, also the kids area pool was very big and clean

Presence of bears :). They should build a fence around the property
