Beautiful relaxing spa-like experience. Staff and service were fantastic and kind/accommodating to our different requests. The Yakutas were clean and comfortable. The onsens and foot bath were wonderful especially the private onsen which was large and luxurious, well worth the booking fee. On-site massage therapist was a nice touch and several from our party took advantage of it. Drum show and mochi demonstration were entertaining. The special entree add-on’s for dinner were delicious (sukiyaki, beef rice bowl, sashimi) but suggest to reach out to guests beforehand to order for the first night. Since you have to order the day before we did not get to have these specials on our first night.

Buffet options were a bit lacking at dinner and breakfast, definitely more on the traditional side. Coffee in lobby not available until 3 pm. In-room DIY drip coffee was difficulty to figure out and was weak coffee. For mochi show, the hotel could consider offering a small sample of mochi at the end, as the show ended a little abruptly. Foot bath water temperature was extremely hot. Though the view and experience was wonderful, having the temperature just a couple degrees cooler would be more comfortable for most guests. More slipper sizes (smaller adults) would be helpful.

We visited here all the way from Singapore, simply because the delicious grilled Yamame fish. We stayed here for 3 nights to enjoy a getaway from the concrete jungle. The Staffs here are truly friendly and helpful (Yes! I mean EVERY!) ! We enjoy hot spring egg, foot bath, private bath, table tennis, fishing, fireworks, drum show... a lot of activity there! (Some may charge varies with reasonable price) Thank you Shimobe hotel to give me a great vacation!

WiFi connection is not that good but it reminds me to fully enjoy a chilled lifestyle.

location, space, facilities, friendly staff, food, Japanese style room was an amazing experience. I enjoyed the most the in hotel private onsen facility which I booked during my stay. complementary ice cream fridge, traditional drum show. dinner buffet had various food options including international food i appreciated having chicken tikka there.

Shimobe Hotel displayed exceptionally friendly and accommodating service for English speakers. The rooms are wonderful and clean and the multiple hot springs are beautiful to experience. There are shows and other facilities provided for enjoyment and leisure. We loved our stay and would recommend everyone to stay and relax at Shimobe Hotel.

As an European we loved Shimobe Hotel. We visited hotel to feel like Japanese people during vacation, and it was brilliant. We could dip our feet in hot water watching koi fish pool, we were invited to mash rice to make rice cakes during evening animations, and there is beautiful stone outdoor onsen. Everything was far beyond our expectations, and I recommend Shimobe Hotel to everyone seeking calmness, relax and friendly atmosphere in traditional Japanese style

Great experience of Japanese onsen, delicious dinner and breakasft buffet, great outdoor onsen, traditional rooms, not crowded. Ice cresm for free, mochi making and happy hour with footbath included. Lots to enjoy!

Nothing, it is an older hotel but perfectly kept.

Well, I havent seen such polite and helpful staff in my lifez thanks for the wonderful stay! Worth every penny
