The location was beautiful, ponds with platypus on the property and adjoining the river near by. The town and its residents were friendly and helpful and it was in a beautiful rural setting. The place we stayed in was a cottage with two bedrooms with comfortable beds, Living area, Kitchen/Dining had everything you needed & Bathroom with bath (which also included a washing machine/Dryer) and had a deck attached. The cottage was well maintained and the décor was very tasteful and had everything you needed and very comfortable. We will definitely go back there for more nights on our next trip to Tassie. Loved it :-)

There is nothing not too like, it is amazing!

Very spacious, fully equipped kitchen, functioning amenities - reverse cycle heating, washing machine, dryer, showers, TV - watched a family film in the evening. Did a nice mini-walk on the grounds and lake. Great to have a restaurant for dinner on-site. Nice and quiet at night.

No gas left in gas-lighter and had to get it refilled at restaurant. Husband is experienced with lighting up fires in fireplaces. But something not right with the fireplace here, although we tried contacting owner for help. We suspect perhaps the chimney was blocked. We chose this villa because it had a fireplace, a lit fire would have been a nice touch. Would also be nice to have more than 1 tissue box in the cottage, given the number of rooms and guests.

Private, roomy and fully self contained. Comfy bed. Very clean and a lovely outlook over the mountains.

We struggled somewhat with the HiTech washer dryer as we had never used one before and there were no operating instructions. Anyone over 50 will likely have similar issues. However we eventually managed to wash/dry a load of clothes but took over four hours to complete the cycle. Suggest instructions need to be posted near the machine.

What a surprise package in a beautiful location not far from Mt Field National Park. With absolutely no expectations of what to expect of this accommodation, booked for a travelling group of 5 adults, made up of 2 couples and a single, what we found upon arrival was nothing short of outstanding! A very clean, comfortably appointed, weather board cottage/home, with 5 bedrooms, 2 Queens and 3 with 2 x king size singles, 2 bathrooms, a powder room/second toilet, modern u-shaped kitchen leading into a dining area with a large, solid, timber table with room to seat 8 and a lounge area with big, oversized couches arranged an open fire place. There was another large, dining table on a wooden deck accessed through doors leading off the dining area, again with seating for 6, included a BBQ, and overlooked an expansive grassed area. Beyond this were a collection of pools/ponds where you might have been lucky enough to spot a platypus, we weren’t but the possibility makes this spot even more appealing! Reverse cycle air conditioning, a dishwasher and laundry with washing machine and dryer completed this excellent accommodation which we would return to in a heartbeat!

Could not fault this property or how welcome we were made to feel throw out our short stay.

The stay was so nice, everything was clean and there were enough facilities to make a little meal. The surrounds are amazing, and having a restaurant on site was very handy. Food was super tasty!

There was a bit of rubbish in the platypus area, some cans and plastic waste, which was a bit sad to see. But it was incredible to get to see one of these creatures right on the property!

Last minute booking as weather not good for camping. Very clean and had everything we needed. Bit chilly to start with but soon warmed up with a/c Some cottages have wood heaters. Wish had had more time to explore and watch platypus. Convenient for Lake Pedder and Mt Field.

No instructions for washing machine/ dryer - we only wanted to dry some things.

Location really remote which is what we wanted making it perfect to use as a base to explore the surrounding national parks. Self contained with washing machine/dryer. Platypus ponds and great walks nearby.

Bed could do with new mattress. Otherwise the cottage was dated but comfortable and warm.

The location was perfect for a weekend at Maydena MBP. There were plenty of beds a d bedrooms for a large group, and a large and cozy lounge room (with great wood heater). The kitchen was also plenty big enough. Bathroom and laundry facilities were ample. Bedding was comfortably warm.

The kitchen was cold. It would be good to have a door so that you could put a heater in there.
