The staff were excellent. The facilities were good..
The cost of the safari is not included on the room costs. You don’t go so far to stay inside your rooms. It could also be a booking.com issue. Very few animals.. but the safari guide is very good.. so you get to see a bit.. more animal would make this place more desirable. The route that Google Map show is wrong and we needed up in absolutely disastrous road from R62. Wouldn’t recommend following Google maps direction. Food is decent.. the staff take care of you very well. Just keep in mind that there are only 3 or 4 staff who serve all the guest.. so can experience delays. The rooms were excellent and very comfortable! The view of the deers/ antelopes from the room is unmatched.

Tranquil, peaceful & quiet. It is what the souls calls for every now & gain, to disconnect from life & reconnect with nature & its awe inspiring beauty. The service is not in your face or over the top, but down to earth & genuine. You do not come here looking for 5 star dinning but rather to unwind & not worry about the next meal or drink. The breakfast is adequate & changes daily. Lunch is ordered in advance & has basic options to cater for the less fussy eater. Dinner was 3 courses & always my favourite of the day. You dine at a set time & at your own pace. The food & cocktails are not the star of the show, but the service from the staff is genuine, friendly & warm & nothing is too much to ask. Run by a small team that care. The pool is a great touch in the summer & the presidential suite was worth getting for the privacy we had. The wild buck roamed around carelessly on our porch & visited every morning & evening to graze, they make the experience worth it even more.
Chef could bring a more positive & uplifting feel to the energy, in line with that of the service & housekeeping staff. Homemade pizza dough would be better than store bought. However, the food we received in general was sufficient enough to not complain about but could add to the value of the price. :-)

Quiet and secluded lodge with a limited number of rooms (ie. other guests) and lots of room to unplug and experience free roaming animals (even on the property!). Safari experience being less "touristy" as area for animals is huge and much less Safari vehicles roaming than in other places, so you were able to see them in their natural habitat rather than feeling like in a big zoo. Excellent food and also able to cater for dietary requirements (it's very rare to get dairy-free pancakes for breakfast :-) )

The lodge exceeded my expectations. Everyone from the kitchen stuff, cleaning stuff, waiters and waitresses including the owner were extremely helpful. We were taken care of by few people, but I remember Andre, Elizabeth and Paula the owner, who were all very helpful. I will be visiting the lodge again, soon.
I liked everything. I am a runner. So the place was perfect for running, except for the huge steep hill that was challenging to conquer.

We loved our stay at Wildehondekloof - its the perfect place to unwind and recharge and enjoy the karoo landscape. The lodge is meticulously run, Paula is an exceptional host. Wildehondekloof is a special place.
We were under the impression game drives were included in our package, but they were an extra charge.

Very beautiful guesthouse in the countryside. Antelopes grazing just in front of our suite. The owner family and the employees are very friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Game drives in a perfect scenery. Not too many animals, which is very good. Much better than all those parks and reserves at the coast. A perfect stay just to wind down and relax.
Nothing relevant. Just the road is a bit bumpy, which for us is in fact positive. Not everybody finds the way to this magnificent place.

The accommodation and staff were amazing. The location is stunning with the Nyala grazing right next to you while lying next to the crystal blue pool. Absolutely amazing experience! Will definitely be back in the future.

March 2023. We loved our stay in the presidential suite - a fantastic apartment with a beautiful large patio and fantastic views - the nyala grazing around us a lovely experience. The friendly and knowledgeable hosts taking us personally on a morning safari was greatly appreciated, thank you Paula and Pottie. In fact Paula and her team were so welcoming - with Andre looking after us so well - it was incredibly hard to leave. We’ll be back!

Very attentive staff all around. It was extremely cold and they went out of their way to get us several batches of extra wood. We saw lots of animals on our game drive. The meals were very generous and genuine local cuisine.
