The location was awesome. The staff was superb and the rooms are extremely big and clean.

The beds are way to hard for me

The rooms here are brand new, and exceptional. Very comfortable, spacious, and modern. Waking up to greenery and birds chirping is lovely, as are the small touches like bespoke books included in the room for your pleasure. The staff, in particular Isaac and Roberto from reception, and Alexa as Client Services Manager were fabulous. Nothing was too hard, or too much to ask. Due to my work I travel frequently but often have fluid arrangements, which the hotel accommodated beautifully. They assisted in booking tours, providing wonderful recommendations to eat and shop locally too, and were so generous with their time. An abundance of bars and dining options within moments of this hotel, and walking distance to Condesa.

I am a very light sleeper and because the hotel is in the heart of Roma Norte, there is some street noise. That said, once I moved to a room on the fourth floor this was significantly eased. The hotel also supplies earplugs if needed. It wouldn't prevent me from staying there again. Perhaps breakfast could be included at some stage down the track, but equally the complimentary croissant and coffee each morning was entirely sufficient for me!

The rooms are beautifully designed and the outdoor space is a great bonus. The rooftop garden is a lovely addition to enjoy the ambiance of the city. The staff at the front desk - Roberto and Isaac - were both fantastic. Incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring our stay was smooth sailing.

Our room was directly underneath the restaurant and unfortunately, the noise really travelled as don’t think there was proper noise insulation installed. We could hear chairs dragging and general noise that comes with a busy restaurant so if you’re looking to get a quiet early night sleep, I wouldn’t recommend the lower ground floor. That was really the only issue we had with the property and certainly wouldn’t stop us from staying again but would definitely rethink which room we book.

Great stay! The staff was so helpful and kind. They treated us with respect and care. From Alexa to Lorenzo to David as well as the friendly security guards. We had a 2nd floor room which was so spacious and clean. I felt very comfortable in the room. There was tons of space to place luggage as well as large closet for hanging clothes. These are all items I enjoy while traveling internationally. I enjoyed the living room furniture and sliding doors for fresh air as well the bathroom shower with rainfall showerhead and cozy feel. My husband and I really enjoyed the rooftop terrace with all the plants both at night and during the day. Lovely spot to see the city views and feel like you’re in the center of the world. Nighttime and daytime vibes were both so beautiful. The hotel overall was a safe clean and comfortable experience. The location is perfect with lots of spots for food and drink nearby. I hope to vacation to Mexico City again and would 100% stay here.

This place felt like a small sanctuary! Our room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The natural materials and calming layout made it easy to settle in. We loved having a kitchenette and a private terrace where we could relax and take in Mexico City. Our king bed was especially comfortable, and everything in the room felt fresh and well-maintained. This location was ideal; very easy walks to great restaurants, cafes, and parks throughout Roma and Condesa. The building felt quiet and secure the entire time. Staff communicated mainly through WhatsApp, which worked well for us. Also, Pablo went above and beyond!

Some small touches were missing. Robes or a drying rack would have been useful, and the automatic sensor light near the closet stayed on longer than needed at night, with no way to turn it off.

Well located in Roma Norte, not the best street (noisy), but very close to the best part of the neighborhood. Rooms are large, equivalent to studio apartments, everything is brand new with good taste (natural stones and wood). Staff is nice, but very limited, only someone at the reception.

The hotel is very good, but doesn’t propose the service that I would expect from a 5* hotel : no spa/gym/pool, no lobby, bar on the roof is really limited and only opens in certain hours, and the restaurant downstairs is good (nothing exceptional) but independent of the hotel. I asked the receptionist if it was possible to have some tea (there is a kettle in the room), but he answered that the hotel didn’t have tea and that I could try to find some in a 7eleven near by. Not really 5* service.

My wife and I stayed at Onto Alvaro Hotel for 8 days and had an incredible experience from start to finish. We stayed in two different rooms during our trip—both were beautifully designed and thoughtfully appointed, with one being more spacious than the other, but equally comfortable and stylish. One of the biggest highlights was the rooftop and the patios/balconies the rooms come with. The food was another standout. Everything is sourced from the attached restaurant Rufus, and it was delicious every single time. There are also local restaurants surrounding the hotel so the options are endless. The staff made our stay extra special. They were kind, attentive, and available 24/7, which made us feel truly cared for throughout our trip. Pablo was especially amazing! Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. If you’re looking for a unique, boutique, and design-forward place to stay in CDMX, Onto Alvaro is it!

It is a bit noisy as are most places in Mexico but they have provided ear plugs for comfort. The hotel requires a cash hold which they claim to release once you check out I am writing this review on the 16th of September and checked out on the 7th and am yet to receive it. I contacted the hotel twice regarding the matter and they just said that they will contact finance and call me back and they did not.

The staff were consistently welcoming and professional, contributing to a relaxed and effortless stay. The location is convenient, not the quietest street but the rooms were well sound insulated. If you appreciate modern simplicity, good design, and quiet quality, this place is a gem. A refreshing departure from over-designed or generic hotels — minimal, yet warm and human. Highly recommended.

There was a persistent rattling noise whenever chairs were moved in adjacent rooms — a small but noticeable disruption in an otherwise peaceful stay. A simple fix like adding felt pads to the chair legs would likely eliminate this issue entirely and make the rooms feel as quiet and serene as they’re meant to be.

Spacious and comfortable room, beautifully decorated with a balcony. The rooftop terrace with a bar is perfect for enjoying drinks or a meal. The design throughout the property is stunning. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the neighborhood is safe and quiet.

The Italian restaurant on the ground floor (Very nice food) and the rooftop bar are not part of the hotel, so charges from there cannot be added to your room bill and must be paid separately.
