Really peaceful property overlooking the Mun river. Loved just sitting on the balcony in the afternoons and evenings having a beer. Phimai is a very lovely town. The staff are very welcoming, and Christian even drove us to catch the bus north to Kohn Kaen for free. Laundry was 100 baht, breakfast same, and bicycles were free (though we didn't take them and opted to walk).

not really an issue, but it's a bit far from town. Can be a bit troublesome if you eat too much spicy papaya and have to run back to use the bathroom. As noted in an earlier review, the bridge to town is open again, so it's a lot faster than it used to be, apparently.

Delightful budget resort on the banks of Northeast Thailand's Mun River (hence the name Moon River). Proprietors Christian and Chin welcomed us and advised on attractions, restaurants, local happenings. Our room was clean with a view on the river, the mattress comfortable, the wading birds of the river within range of our camera's long lens. A bridge that puts Phimai temple within a 15-20 minute walk was closed for renovation when we were there, so Christian kindly drove us. Bicycles were also available for free. We enjoyed our time and would gladly go back.

Lovely location which has been maximised by the owners to the benefit of customers. Excellent car parking, well sized bungalows, courtesy pushbikes if wanted and competitively priced. We have every intention of revisiting as the resort and Phimai has alot to offer for those interested in Thai history. An excellent restaurant a short bikeride away. Additionally, Chris has put a significant effort into some "mood lighting" which enhances the outdoors area at night time.

The nearby bridge is out of action for a considerable time which is a shame as it would reduce the trip to the National Museum to a 5 minute stroll. Of course, road construction is outside the control of businesses. No

Visiting in the off season I found the location to be ideal; very tranquil, the sound of nature to the fore come the early evening. Perfect place to unwind. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Hope to revisit at some point.

Not the fault of the resort management, but construction work on refurbishing a bridge close to the property means that getting to the town itself involves a 2-3km detour - for the time being. Property has bicycles to borrow; I enjoy cycling so this wasn’t an issue for me (and the town, a couple of main roads aside perhaps, is perfect for cycling around) but might be for some.

Beautiful location very peaceful owners are very nice and very helpful. Have stayed there quite a few times never disappoints only a short walk to town center lots of places to eat and visit . Will definitely return

Wish we could have stayed more than one night. This place, I feel, is, if not the best, is one of a rare gems in Phimai. The place is very clean. The veranda is great to have a nice cup of coffee and watch the river Moon. The historical park is quite close by. The owners are super friendly.

The shower pressure, though good, the shower head gave out a needle- size spray of water. This could be a bit irritating.

Loved the place, so peaceful with river view and its garden. The owner gave us good tips to discover Phimai, notably the banyan tree. It was great to have bikes provided

Unfortunately no dining option very close, but one good local restaurant is about 10 min by foot. Some loud birds woke my husband at night.

Friendly personalized attention by the owner. Nice place and gardens. It was great to have the free use of a bicycle during my stay to go and explore the historical park and town. Thank you so much.!

The sudden and unexpected cold weather front... there is nothing that could be done about that...

Location was beautifull in a garden alongside a small lake, but still close to the city (it was also possible to lend a bike which made it even more convenient!). The bungalow had a lot of room, was clean + airco worked good, also a nice quit area to have a good night rest.

Room + bathroom was a little outdated.

Very lovely resort beautifully located right on the shore of Mun River. In easy walking distance to town center and historical sites. Huge, impeccably clean bungalow with comfy bed and very bright and spacey bathroom. We loved our terrace with the beautiful views of the river. Very tasty breakfast. We much appreciated that the owner even made an exception for us and served it very early, then drove us to the bus station, so that we could catch an early van to our next destination.
