Such a cool place!! You get to stay in a piece of history! I’m not 100% sure but I think it was a 12th century Armenian Church. Very interesting architecture everywhere. It’s like staying in a museum! And the people were extremely friendly!! I loved the waitresses at breakfast in the morning. Oh and the food was so good!! The beds were absolutely heavenly! And the staff brought us çay and freshly squeezed orange juice when we arrived. They also helped us get a good parking spot right next to the area where there is a gate to the little hidden medieval village. And the staff helped us with our luggage and brought us brochures in English to explain all of the fun things to learn about and explore around the area. We didn’t see many other American tourists and I loved that! Just shows me that this is not a well known destination outside of the local tourism… and it makes it even better to walk through an area that is untouched by westernization. And it wasn’t too far to drive to Gobeklitepe, Karahantepe, and Harran. It is about 3 hours to Mount Nemrut, but you can’t have everything lol! The town has everything you need! Restaurants with Delicious food in really amazing ancient buildings with some great historical stories. I would love to go there again!!

This was a wonderful stay that forever left impressions on us. Everything was fabulous from the arrival-the way we were welcomed and to our departure. The hotel is an absolute wonderful fairytale building and is so beautiful, cozy and full of ambiance, warmth and tranquility - the cozy courtyard, the terrace and the beautiful decorated spacious clean rooms. The hotel owner Mrs. Yasemin welcomed warmly and with a true hospitality and while drinking tea gave us a little history about the building itself. She was a head nurse and managed a Child Hospital for 25 years and it was evident in every aspect that a woman’s and a previous nurse hand is on this gem of hotel. In the way how hygiene and cleaning was prioritized and managed, the way the hotel was decorated, the attentiveness of all personnel. All of her personnel/ staff were incredible service minded, polite, attentive and friendly and accommodating to our wishes. it was an oasis of peace and happiness to stay there. On their card it states that Tessera Hotel is your world- I would say it’s your home. staying there felt like being at your own home ! Just with all the luxury of an accommodation of a hotel added! Breakfast was rich, various and delicious and prepared when you were ready. Turkish coffee, tea etc were prepared after our wishes. We were so happy and satisfied with our stay and breakfast that we decided to have dinner at the hotel. They prepared a tasty wonderful dinner which honestly was the best we had in Urfa. The beds were absolutely gorgeous to sleep in. Our best sleep in our 1 week GAP tour. I want yet again thank everyone for making our staying so wonderful. Thank you to Mr. Ali who managed the hotel- a very attentive, kind polite and respectful person. To the again very attentive, service minded nice waiter- who we sadly missed name- thank you for all the nice conversations . To the cleaning lady and guy who always had a smile on their faces and warm greetings.

Charming historic home with central courtyard, rooftop views and well-decorated rooms. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff (aided by Google translate). Quick laundry turn-around. Plenty of hot water with good pressure. Short walk to wonderful central bazaar

On day when a bus tour was staying and used up all the space, we had to eat breakfast in the (atmospheric) stone cellar with no windows or wifi. Always challenging to fully modernise an historic place, but charging points in the room were hard to access and could not accommodate adapters.

This journey was truly unforgettable, marked by encounters with remarkable individuals. Yasmine, the owner of this enchanting, secluded retreat—a genuine sanctuary for travelers—stands out among them. The entire place is imbued with history, which comes as no surprise given the owner's love for the history and her meticulous preservation of every piece of heritage. She has restored an old monastery and opened it to all who wish to experience a connection with the past. Yasmine was patient and thoughtful, virtues she has instilled in her entire team. The rooms in the complex are not only aesthetically pleasing and comfortable but also come with modern conveniences (the chandelier in our room was a masterpiece). Traditional Turkish breakfasts were bountiful and served with finesse. The hotel's location in the historic part of the city is ideal, mere steps away from Balıklıgöl, the marketplace, the fortress, the archaeological museum, and the fresco museum. A bus stop nearby offers services to Göbekli Tepe. Exploring the old town, with its authentic, narrow, cobbled lanes, offers a unique charm. The hospitality and openness of the locals were astounding; they were always ready to put aside their tasks to assist. Our gratitude to Yasmine for a splendid stay is boundless, and we yearn to return. The hotel staff was considerate and accommodating, with Fatih excelling in his profession. The room cleaning was faultless! We also recommend services of Rıdvan Derin, a regional travel advisor.

Well done restored historic property in a great location: walking distance to museums, bazaars, and historic sites. Lots of levels and courtyards provided great variety of spaces. The staff were fantastic- very accommodating and helpful despite the language barrier (Google translate was used a lot). The breakfast was a feast. They even made a special early breakfast for me when I had to catch an early bus.

Some music venues in the neighborhood were loud, but quiet after midnight. Turning on the A/C and the thick walls solved that issue.

This is a charming heritage hotel with very welcoming and helpful proprietors & staff. The breakfast was excellent! The hotel location was great - walkable to historic sites such as the Balikli Göl pool, Mevlid-I Halil Mosque, Abraham's Cave, and the Göbekli Tepe & Mosaic museums as well as restaurants and bazaars. Drove to Göbekli Tepe archaeological site - absolutely breathtaking! Very nice stay, would definitely return!

Everything was great!

Aside from a gorgeous look and great location, this hotel really looks after guests. They went above and beyond to make our trip to Urfa fun and welcoming. This is a hospitality driven business, which cares for their guests as they would visiting family. Nothing was too much trouble. There was lots of suggestions about how to spend our time we took, and had a much richer time because of it. The breakfast is excellent.

Beautiful renovated Armenian monastery. Quiet central courtyard. Tea was plentifully available. Parking was free, however a short walk away. That is the price for being in the old city. Location was brilliant - we could walk to Urfa's highlights and dining options

A lot of steps for some rooms. If this is an issue for you, request a central courtyard room. Serving staff and room attendants need much more training. Doona did not have cover the first night. Some breakfast items were missing.

Unique and beautiful property and about a 10-15 minute walk to Pools of Abraham.

They changed the room I booked on Booking.com. I had to argue with them to get them to give me the room I booked. Room smelled like an ashtray tray even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. Listing on booking.com says free parking but in reality you are directed to a parking lot just up the street that charges $8 a day to park. No big deal... but dont say free parking when it was not. Staff was just OK.

A remarkably airy, calm and beautiful space in the heart of the old city. Spacious, tastefully furnished deluxe rooms organized around two connecting open air courts - including gentle fountain and pomegranate tree. Abundant and varied Turkish breakfasts. Really a very pleasant and safe-feeling place to stay - offering a decidedly local and personal experience without sacrificing modern comforts and discretion. The owner was more than generous with her time and advice, and all staff showed great patience as we sought common platforms of communication in this multicultural, multi religion, multi language city.
