Perfect location right on the beach! The rooms are beautiful and spacious, all ocean facing. The AC and fan made it pleasant to stay during this hot season. Breakfast was delicious 😋 I enjoyed the omelet and pancakes. It's a great location as it's on the main road and very easy to reach several places. Galle and Weligama are just minutes away. So may attractions all within the area. Very easy to use public transport right outside.

Since it was off season, the kitchen was closed, so food had to be purchased outside, but this was not a major problem and was to be expected due to the time of year.

Surf Station is in an incredible position, right on the water's edge and looks directly onto Sticks surf spot, which is one of the better and more consistent waves along that coastline. You can literally lie in the pool and watch the waves and plan your session. To be able to watch the waves as conditions change through the day is priceless and allows for way more opportunities to maximise your surf time. There are a few other waves within a short walking distance too, which is great for variety and different conditions. The hotel itself has an amazing atmosphere with the staff being incredibly friendly and accommodating and the owners and surf guides hugely knowledgeable about the local conditions and where the best waves will be. The facilities on the roof for exercising, stretching and yoga are fantastic, with incredible views out over both the ocean and the jungle behind. A huge bonus-add is the option of having your surf sessions filmed so you can review in the evenings and improve your skills. We felt a little bit like part of the family while staying there and will definitely be back in the future. We'll be recommending it to surf groups and travelling families.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE VIBE secluded, beautiful porch, the front part of the hotel is to die for, kinda like a private beach access. This was our first stay for our honeymoon and I couldn’t have asked for anything better The staff were so helpful in recommending best places and restaurants!!!

In off season their bar and restaurant was closed and breakfast we ordered in the evening if we wanted anything other than eggs and toast. But a nice restaurant over the road but only cash accepted. Pool could do with a clean. Can go on the beach but need to walk along a bit to enter the sea as there is rocks/coral.

WOW ! Definitely will return to this hotel for several reasons: All the hotel staff are always great and help with everything - from surfing instruction and recommending beaches to resturants and bars to tips on where to travel. In addition, the food is also delicious in the hotel ! the room is super comfortable , pretty big and always clean! And the location is so excellent ! it's on the beach , so you can always go to the sea all day long to surf or just have fun. what i liked the most is the 3rd floor with the best view and yoga in the morning to check the surf and enjoy the view ! thanks a lot for making this trip so great!

that i didnt stay longer ,it was too short for me, next time i will stay for 2 weeks in this hotel with this amazing stuff ! my bad that i didn't book for more days!!

Nice comfortable accomodation right on the ocean with a beautiful view. The room was cool, clean and spacious.

It’s a bit expensive and the breakfast options are limited. With all the cafes around I’d maybe suggest going out. The hotel also does not have signage which made it a bit annoying to find. No tea/kettle in the room.

The service was really nice -- we went during the offseason so they were running a bare-bones crew - but it did not feel like it. Mr Sajith and his team of Manjula and Lalantha went out of their way to make our stay special. From waiting at the gate to make sure it was open when we arrived to make sure that we had enough coffee on hand. The location was fantastic. Ahangama is not known for its beaches compared to its neighbours a few minutes down the road. But we thought the beaches were great. It was a little choppy due to the off-season but the water was pristine and it was really nice. Spent hours just soaking up the waves and the sun.

It's great that Surf Station is situated right on the spot of Sticks a well – known consistent surf break in Ahangama. You can wake up early in the morning, grab your board, and be in the water within minutes. Plus, you can take breaks throughout the day to relax at the hotel, enjoy the pool or have a meal at the restaurant before heading back to the waves. Overall, having Sticks surf break right on your doorstep makes Surf Station an even more appealing destination for surfers looking to catch some great waves and have a memorable surf trip. Sajith, the manager of the hotel, went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best stay. He made recommendations and arrangements for our activities. He was always willing to help and that added a lot to the overall appeal of Surf Station as a top-notch surf hotel in Ahangama.

Here's what you get when staying at Surf Statioolon: - Avi and his staff are very friendly peocple who are alwjilkays eager to help - They offer great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner (you should try the fish burger!) - Various surf spots in walking distance and there's even one right in front of the hotel - Good surf shop (RDS Surf School) in 2 minutes walking distance (board rental fee was Rs. 2,000 per day) - Spacious and quiet rooms (we can only tell for the rooms that are not facing the street) - Great view from the balcony, pretty garden with a beautiful pool - Very good and stable WiFi (probably better than the one I have at home) Even though there are a lot of positives, this place is still quite expensive. Especially, when taking into consideration that you can only access the beautiful Kabalana Beach via the garden door when there's low tide. Otherwise, you need to walk 5 minutes along the street. As I mentioned, the staff is very friendly. However, communication was sometimes a bit difficult and it was hard to find out what they have to offer for breakfast, lunch, etc.
