Very stylish and elegant property with amazing service and dedicated team. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The large pool and all the outdoor areas around it are just fantastic. The food is great - from wonderful breakfasts to delicious lunches and dinners (and they can make food that is not on the menu if you ask - we recommend crab booked in wine). The property is on the sea, which is ideal for surfers. Thank you, Villa Mosvold team, for your excellent approach (and all my beloved mango you served :))

The sea in front of the hotel, although picturesque, with a beautiful sunset, is not suitable for swimmers because of the large waves.

Spacious, elegant, quiet and exquisite. Pool was great. Staff were friendly. Bar/food options were great as well.

Maybe a little too quiet at night. Nothing to do. We came back one night at 12 to have a drink at their bar and it was closed, so plan any night activities you have elsewhere. There’s no beach, but you can easily walk down to the public one. Also, have some insect repellent with you.

The location is FANTASTIC. Breakfast was really tasty, with lots of options. We also met a local tuktukdriver who was really nice and didn't push prices too much, so I took his number and he came everytime we called for the price of 400 LR. Then we didn't have to haggle everytime we were going somewhere (walking is not nice in Sri Lanka) which made a huge difference for us, honestly, Taraka made the trip worth it. The price is high.

The food is incredible, breakfast was a feast of fresh food. Breakfast included is highly recommended. The staff were exceptional with accommodating our requests without hesitation. One person of excellence was Sandhu bending over backwards for us and his service was amazing. The location was clean. Plenty of restaurants in the area to explore. The beach directly in front of the resort is not safe but the beach just to the right is easily accessible.

Hotel is very well situated in terms if stunning views (beach, sunset). Only 17 rooms so quote exclusive and recently renovated so everything is in very good condition. Very good room amenities and comfortable bedding. Dinner & Breakfast was very good with varied choice.

Rooms are very nice though bathrooms are rather small in comparison. Also missing a luggage rack which would be convenient. No gym facilities and not possible to swim in front of hotel.

What a magical place to stay with the best sunsets. Incredible location right on the sea. Newly renovated with all rooms sea facing, so you can’t go wrong. Stunning pool overlooking the sea with pool bar and wonderful attentive service. The staff were extremely accommodating and so friendly, making my stay over my birthday super special. Breakfast is also a wonderful, generous selection. I’m well travelled with experience working in luxury hotels, and highly recommend Mosvold Villa. Don’t think twice ☺️

No direct beach access but the beach is few mins away in a readily available Tuk Tuk. Gym, spa, rooftop facilities weren’t ready during my stay due to renovations but would love to return when it’s all complete.

The staff is absolutely incredible, always available and caring with a smile. The location of the premise is stunning, right on the ocean with direct access to a beautiful beach, while remaining private. Breakfast and food in general is 5 stars. The room is very big and clean. The bed is the most comfortable I've tried in a hotel. We had a massage in the hotel and it is recommended. Internet is was extraordinarily fast and reliable for remote workers. We just left Mosvold and we already want to return!

Good place with an unbeatable view. Staffs are super friendly and attentive. Food was great. Drink superb. Small problem with noise -- front room facing the sea can hear the waves (understandably), and the backroom (I booked the family suite) can hear the street noise, as well as aircon of the kitchen. After talking with us they turned off the kitchen aircon at our requested hours so problem solved. Overall very very nice. It's not easy finding a five star hotel on surfing beach, and this is it.

I rarely leave any reviews. Not for any particular reason really other than laziness. But this resort is exceptional and the world needs to know. The resort is uber clean and comfortable but what makes it exceptional is the team that manage it. The team is AMAZING. They went above and beyond to make sure I was safe. While in Sri Lanka, almost an hour from the resort, I got caught in a rip current and nearly drowned. I was rescued by Police life guards and though I did not need to go to a hospital, I decided to go for a check up just in case. An ambulance came and took me to a public hospital which added another 30 minutes from the resort. The hospital ran tests and so on so forth, and thankfully I was OK, however due to their policy I had to sleep overnight. Given I was OK and was only in Sri Lanka for another 2 nights, I wanted to leave no matter what. So now I wanted to leave but the hospital could not discharge me. I called the GM of Mosvold, Tony, and explained the situation. He sent a member of his team, Sam, on a 90 minutes ride to the hospital so that he can drop of his National ID, sign an "affidavit" for a lack of a better word, and got me discharged. Then he took me all the way back to the hotel and made sure the chef doesnt leave for the day so that we can have something to eat. Mind you, Sam still has to go back to that hospital later to pay a minimal fee and collect his ID. THAT is PRICELESS. I don't know what would have happened had it not been for Tony and his team. The entire team is exceptional - Sam, Nupin and believe me I would name every single team member, but my memory let me down. Great food, great view, uber comfortable, easy going and flexible, and SAFE. I cannot & have not recommended anything so highly in my life. If you go to Sri Lanka, which you should, this is your spot.

Beautiful compact property with direct access to the beach. We were a family of 8 booked into the 2 bedroom sea room and the founders suite … it was fantastic. The founders suite was value for money with the sheer size for everyone to hang out together + the private pool. The food was amazing. Every dish was delicious and the staff was friendly… Totally a wonderful experience
