All, from the moment of booking at Booking com till the check out of my stay! It was an sentimental journey and they provided me with all the things you can imagine from private vegetarian cooking for me to make my room feel home! I had booked so many extra's that way! Nothing was negative, tea and coffee with something was complementary in all areas of the hotel. Dinner was part of the room and this was cooked delicious each day different. I (Vegetarian) had an special treatment which can only dreamed off! Not a single letter of negative things to mention, when I left they gave me presents for on the way to enjoy the good local Indonesian food. It made my memories from the past so special. From all the hotels in Jakarta, I can only recommend this historical place. If you check in you become part of it, and no doubts this is not my last stay in the Hermitage from now onwards! I can only recommend more sentimental travellers to see what they offer and book their stay, please do.

Nothing its so bad to comment anything here because 10 is the highest score a hotel can get but they reserve much more than a 10, I can give them 100 points!

good location nearby 3 parks, (Suropatti, MENTENG, Situ Lembang), a busy road full of cafes and restaurants (Cikini), just 25 minutes walk from the heart of Jakarta (Selamat Datang), and 2 adjacent major malls (5/5) The service was excellent and obliging (5/5) The room was well appointed with a strong homey feel and we enjoyed the small living area (4/5)

due to a series of events, the Hermitage lounge was closed and so was the 1928 restaurant, the rooftop bar and the pool (1/5) therefore our experience was limited to a nice room and (4/5), and an excellent hospitality (5/5) the quality of the food at breakfast did not meet our expectations (2/5)

I also loved the rooftop pool and lounge area, offering stunning views of Jakarta’s skyline—perfect for unwinding after a busy day in the city. Located in the historic Menteng district, the hotel is surrounded by leafy streets, iconic architecture, and a quiet charm that’s rare in bustling Jakarta. Menteng is known for its rich history, vibrant culinary scene, and unique blend of old-world elegance and urban sophistication. The proximity to great cafes, restaurants, and local attractions added so much value to my stay. It’s a fantastic base to explore Jakarta while enjoying a peaceful retreat. Chef Adi’s culinary creations were nothing short of delightful, we enjoyed his special Tiger tea. Zahra’s warm and attentive service added a personal touch that made mornings feel extra special. Their dedication and passion truly enhanced the dining experience, leaving a lasting impression. The staff at The Hermitage were outstanding—attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. Every interaction felt personalized, and they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Dining at the hotel was another highlight. The food was exquisite, with a mix of international and Indonesian flavors, beautifully presented. Breakfast was particularly delightful, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit every palate. Whether you’re visiting Jakarta for business or leisure, The Hermitage is a gem that offers a unique and memorable experience.

Absolutely love the colonial design of the hotel, it exudes charm and elegance while maintaining a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff are incredibly friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. The rooftop view is simply breathtaking, offering a stunning panorama that makes for the perfect spot to unwind. Both the breakfast and dinner spreads are thoughtfully curated, with just the right variety to indulge in without feeling overwhelming. The free-flow wine is a fantastic touch, elevating the dining experience even further. From the ambiance to the service, everything feels top-notch. I couldn’t be more satisfied, just an amazing stay overall

If you’re looking for a quiet stay, would recommend opting for a non-connecting room, otherwise, you might hear conversations from the next room quite clearly. That said, it’s just a minor issue, and overall, it was a great stay.

The Hermitage is a five-star hotel as a five-star hotel should be. Situated in Menteng in a monumental building from the 1920s, expanded with stylish new construction. Hospitality is written with a capital H here, just like in all of Asia. In this light, it is unbelievable that some hotels in the Netherlands (not a service country at all) give themselves (?) five stars. They rather mean two stars. The executive room is spacious and also very suitable for solo travelers. The staff is, without exception, very customer-friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet and breakfast menu in the 1928 restaurant are rich in choices. This is a hotel to stay again and again.

A stylish hotel in a beautiful old building. The atmosphere with the splendor of old times is something very special and can hardly be created in this way in newly built hotels. The suite is spacious, tastefully decorated and fully equipped. The bed was comfortable with very pleasant bedding and it was absolutely quiet at night. Another highlight of the hotel is certainly the rooftop bar with a great panoramic view and the open pool on the floor below. The breakfast was exceptionally good and offered plenty of western food as well as Indonesian dishes. The staff were always attentive, helpful and extremely friendly. For me, the leading hotel in Jakarta.

We stayed 4 nights at the Hermitage. This hotel has incredible charm and a very professional staff. The bed was very comfortable and the room met all of our needs. The Ala cart breakfast was excellent along with the evening wine and snacks. All of the staff are personable, customer oriented, and professional. The staff let us know they were working on the hot water, so it may not get as hot as we liked. However, the water was plenty warm. The hotel is close to historic sites. We would recommend this hotel for your stay in Jakarta.

I cant remember whenever I gave a 10 in all these years staying in dozens of hotels over the world every year. Although also this hotel has small imperfections, I thought if I want to give a 10 it should be that one. It is really classy and the breakfeast is one of the best I remember in 15 ys Traveling Indo. Just feel like the president.

You should be aware that the very strong exhaust system can dry your mucosae very quickly and you can get some symptoms. So: I suggest to familiarize yourself on arrival with the system and switch it off or low or whatever.

Central location, Colonial style hotel with charm and history, 99.9% Staff extremely friendly (read on), Excellent food bfast, lounge, evening buffet, rooftop. I would like to propose Farrel for Employee of the Year nomination (not excluding others)

Repeat customer who stayed twice. Afternoon check-in staff so-so experiences twice. First time: no info about the WiFi, Second time: had pre-requested a quiet room, ended up getting one of the noisiest ones. Then the fridge was out of order so I changed room anyhow.

Beautiful, 1920’s style hotel in the upmarket Menteng district. Rooms are quiet and very comfortable. Staff are impeccably polite and welcoming. Food is first-class. Rooftop bar was a complete surprise and a great place for cocktails in the evening.

The loud DJ music was fun at the rooftop bar, but somewhat incongruous in the swimming pool below (where the speakers are).
