Lovely room with very clean bathroom and linens. Staff were most attentive and quick to help with anything. The hotel decor was lovely. Much nicer to stay somewhere with a little character rather than some of the bigger chain hotels.

Just a couple of things: The bed was too soft. There needs to be a stool or small table next to the bathtub and shampoo and soap provided right next to it. In the Executive Lounge, the food was put out about an hour before guests were due to eat - this should not happen - it should be put out only minutes beforehand in order to avoid bacteria contamination. The drinks in the Executive Lounge were not very well prepared - some staff training needed.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Hermitage. The staff are superb and the highlight of the trip. The breakfast options are good, with a buffet and make to order options. The pool on the 9th floor provided a relaxing space after a day out, although the price for two cokes was pretty steep.

The safe in our room didn't work, and the hand held shower unit wouldn't stay upright when in use. We reported the safe on day one - it was never fixed and no update was provided.

All, from the moment of booking at Booking com till the check out of my stay! It was an sentimental journey and they provided me with all the things you can imagine from private vegetarian cooking for me to make my room feel home! I had booked so many extra's that way! Nothing was negative, tea and coffee with something was complementary in all areas of the hotel. Dinner was part of the room and this was cooked delicious each day different. I (Vegetarian) had an special treatment which can only dreamed off! Not a single letter of negative things to mention, when I left they gave me presents for on the way to enjoy the good local Indonesian food. It made my memories from the past so special. From all the hotels in Jakarta, I can only recommend this historical place. If you check in you become part of it, and no doubts this is not my last stay in the Hermitage from now onwards! I can only recommend more sentimental travellers to see what they offer and book their stay, please do.

I also loved the rooftop pool and lounge area, offering stunning views of Jakarta’s skyline—perfect for unwinding after a busy day in the city. Located in the historic Menteng district, the hotel is surrounded by leafy streets, iconic architecture, and a quiet charm that’s rare in bustling Jakarta. Menteng is known for its rich history, vibrant culinary scene, and unique blend of old-world elegance and urban sophistication. The proximity to great cafes, restaurants, and local attractions added so much value to my stay. It’s a fantastic base to explore Jakarta while enjoying a peaceful retreat. Chef Adi’s culinary creations were nothing short of delightful, we enjoyed his special Tiger tea. Zahra’s warm and attentive service added a personal touch that made mornings feel extra special. Their dedication and passion truly enhanced the dining experience, leaving a lasting impression. The staff at The Hermitage were outstanding—attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. Every interaction felt personalized, and they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Dining at the hotel was another highlight. The food was exquisite, with a mix of international and Indonesian flavors, beautifully presented. Breakfast was particularly delightful, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit every palate. Whether you’re visiting Jakarta for business or leisure, The Hermitage is a gem that offers a unique and memorable experience.

Absolutely love the colonial design of the hotel, it exudes charm and elegance while maintaining a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff are incredibly friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. The rooftop view is simply breathtaking, offering a stunning panorama that makes for the perfect spot to unwind. Both the breakfast and dinner spreads are thoughtfully curated, with just the right variety to indulge in without feeling overwhelming. The free-flow wine is a fantastic touch, elevating the dining experience even further. From the ambiance to the service, everything feels top-notch. I couldn’t be more satisfied, just an amazing stay overall

If you’re looking for a quiet stay, would recommend opting for a non-connecting room, otherwise, you might hear conversations from the next room quite clearly. That said, it’s just a minor issue, and overall, it was a great stay.

What a nice authentic hotel, different than the modern business hotel chains, but with good comfort, good rooms, situated in a very calm, green region from Jakarta. And especially really great, kind and helpful staff at the reception, the restaurant, who makes you almost feel home, despite the fact that it is a large hotel. I asked for a tipbox, since I appreciated so many staff members, but unfortunately that was not there. Maybe a suggestion for the hotel. Great topview.

Swimming end of the day, with very loud music was less.

The Hermitage is a five-star hotel as a five-star hotel should be. Situated in Menteng in a monumental building from the 1920s, expanded with stylish new construction. Hospitality is written with a capital H here, just like in all of Asia. In this light, it is unbelievable that some hotels in the Netherlands (not a service country at all) give themselves (?) five stars. They rather mean two stars. The executive room is spacious and also very suitable for solo travelers. The staff is, without exception, very customer-friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet and breakfast menu in the 1928 restaurant are rich in choices. This is a hotel to stay again and again.

The hotel combines authentic charm and history with modern comfort: a beautiful pool, a great rooftop with stunning views and happy hour, and a well-equipped gym. The breakfast was excellent, with both a buffet and varied à la carte options. Most of all, the staff were outstanding – professional, always smiling, and genuinely kind. Staying here is more than just accommodation, it’s a memorable experience. Two nights were not enough – highly recommended.

good location nearby 3 parks, (Suropatti, MENTENG, Situ Lembang), a busy road full of cafes and restaurants (Cikini), just 25 minutes walk from the heart of Jakarta (Selamat Datang), and 2 adjacent major malls (5/5) The service was excellent and obliging (5/5) The room was well appointed with a strong homey feel and we enjoyed the small living area (4/5)

due to a series of events, the Hermitage lounge was closed and so was the 1928 restaurant, the rooftop bar and the pool (1/5) therefore our experience was limited to a nice room and (4/5), and an excellent hospitality (5/5) the quality of the food at breakfast did not meet our expectations (2/5)

Beautiful building, comfortable, spacious room, nice rooftop bar with a skyline view, clean pool area, friendly staff, very clean.

Prices for dinner relatively high for a rather average quality of cooking. Eating rooms heavily air-conditioned. Housekeeping can be quite insisting at 8.30am in the morning, should you forget to put the „don’t disturb“ sign on the door. Can‘t open the window in the room.
